Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 Hey, I thought that was actually a GOOD Goldberg match....made him ended up looking very powerful, which is what his character is. Goldberg has been busting his ass since he showed up, he's just finally getting the pops and support in recognition of it. Meltz - They couldn't have done more for Goldberg. On one leg, he laid out Flair, Orton, and Batista with HHH's sledge hammer, then used the spear and jackhammer to pin HHH after throwing the sledge hammer out. It was as close to perfectly booked as you can get in trying to get Goldberg over.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 at least this wasn't the worst PPV of the year So you still watch......why? because i've been a fan for over 10 years...and it's addicting... I've tried to just "not watch" ...and it doesn't work addictive
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 yeah... you don't mess with a PPV where a gun turret is part of the decor... I think there was also half of a bus sticking out of the set. Or maybe that was Rumble 00... WWE has had some cool sets. Gotta love the KotR Chair of the Gods, too. rr00 was a Taxi Cab. Armageddon 99 was the best no QUESTION with the tanks and Gun Turret... Damn--okay, it was a yellow vehicle at least. I forget about the tanks at Armageddon, though. I actually prefer that to the flames shooting up last year. It was neat that they were used in a match (HHH lighting the 2x4), but compared to the 1999 set, it seemed so barren and lifeless. Imagine If Taker bumped his head going into the casket at the end and was knocked out cold and they didn't know it and closed the lid and rolled it out...expecting Taker to be under the ring and actually set Taker on fire... Eh--I think Taker would have to take one hell of a shot to be knocked out cold. A little bump to his head wouldn't do it, I don't think.

All of that for its entertainment value and a slight bit of wrestling.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted November 17, 2003 I'm assuming that Brock will be traded for Kane somewhere down the road to set up Goldberg vs. Brock Kane vs. Undertaker for Wrestlemania Brock will be laying down to Benoit right? RIGHT? RIGHT! No, they want to keep Brock strong for that match and he tapped tonight. Benoit's going to be decimated at the PPV they end up butting heads at. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 17, 2003 Decent show. The 1st match while it shouldn't be the first match, sets up Benoit/Brock, and Show/Cena. Angle isn't needed for a while b/c of the injury. Shane ruined Kane. Jericho, the guy who has a five month issue with Austin gets eliminated in the name of the heatless Suckbag and Batista. Figures. And Vince did in his match what Shane should have done-nothing.

Uh...GO OVER? Squash the entire momentum Goldberg had going into that match along with after his Terminator like performence laying out the entire field...with a rinky dinky sledgehammer shot. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 Who do I speak to about refunds? I enjoyed the RAW 10-man tag but that was it. Everything else was too rushed or just too messy. It's almost painful to watch some of these guys out there because they're either way too green (Morgan, Jones) or just too brittle (HHH, Vince). Those trunks of HHH's are so damn ghey, but hey, whatever keeps him from pulling another hammy when he enters the ring. As for HHH having workrate better than 2/3 of the guys in the opening match, huh? Morgan and Jones are awful, but everyone else is just mediocre and up. A-Train sucks, but he's not terrible, Show played little part in the match, and Lesnar's all right. On the other end, Angle, Benoit, and Cena are all good, while Bradshaw at least garners a reaction from the crowd when he hits certain spots. And all the hate for Hardcore should stop, since he's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. They're just judging him on his personality. Starting the show out with the 10-man would've been fine, but everything was just so rushed that it made most of the guys look bad.

It's more impressive to pop right back up from a flying elbow then to beat up the guy before he can do it.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 I actually really, really enjoyed this PPV tonight, top to bottom. There was some bad, obviously, but overall I really loved it. My only complaint is with the ending of Goldberg/HHH. I was so into the match, I was pumped, I was marking out like a bitch, and then the pin came. It went one, TWO.......and I don't know if I blinked or what, but I didn't even see the ref's hand go down for three, HHH raised his shoulder, and then after a pause, the bell rings and Goldberg's music starts. I totally was lost and it pissed me off. Other than that, great show.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 Nuts. Goldberg won. Cool. However, since HHH wasn't around for most of the feud, and it didn't lead to a title switch despite Goldie being injured, what was the point? They just needed a placeholder feud due to the lack of a strong heel to challenge? This means Kane/Goldberg at Rumble, vs. a member of Evolution, or what? I imagine The Deadman gimmick will return in that Goldy/Kane match-up as well. If it does happen. Although he couldn't possibly have time to regrow the hair, so it may be an all-new Dead Man look. Guest CronoT Report post Posted November 17, 2003 After reading this, I'm DAMN glad I didn't order SS after all. Austin got dicked, and now we get the return of Psycho Eric, the "Kid Who Found His Dad's Gun." At least Goldberg retained. Don't get me wrong. I KNOW there are other people who deserve that title more than Bill. But, the longer they keep it away from Lvesque, the happier I'll be.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted November 17, 2003 I can't believe Triple H is getting flack for his performance. You are all seriosuly fucked in the head. The guy laid down for Goldberg, what else do you want? They laid out the match PERFECTLY to accomodate GOLDBERG, hwo can anyone say Triple H was being selfish? He was simply following the fucking storyline by annihilating Goldberg for the whole match. Remember, Goldberg had a broken fucking ankle...of course he;'d get dominated. And I missed the Smackdown 10 man tag, but it seemed pretty blah to me from the onset. RAW is totally the number one show by heads and shoulders. Smackdown is no further now then when they were a year ago. Even Eddie Guerrero seems boring to me.

However, shouldn't Kane have been beating the crap out of Shane for an extended period of time? You gotta put the face in peril, you know...then each additional attack makes you more worried. However, no-selling everything then doing a fairly quick finish seems kinda anti-climactic. Just my opinion...
