haVoc 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 - The word backstage was that Shawn Michaels blade job at Survivor Series was made worse because he was forced to do it while being tossed out of the ring. He then hit his head, making the cut worse. Vince McMahon's blade job caused too much blood simply because he did not do it properly. - The general feeling backstage is that WWE will likely do brand vs. brand matches at WrestleMania XX. - The RAW wrestlers were very tired after what was said to be a very bad flight from Dallas to Beaumont. - The Brock Lesnar/Bob Holly angle is expected to take place entirely on TV. Smackdown does not have its own PPV now until February, so they will put on some major matches on free TV leading up to the Royal Rumble. - Kurt Angle is expected to miss three weeks due to his neck surgery which he will undergo today. The operation is said to not be too serious. - Paul Heyman is scheduled to be on Smackdown tonight. Originally, he was only going to be brought back for about a month while Stephanie McMahon was gone. No word on if WWE plans to extend his on-air role. Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 18, 2003 You'd think after 4 years of being one of the top bladers Vince would have it down PAT but it seems each PPV he cuts too deep or cuts the wrong part.

Good--I guess this means Benoit/Brock for the Rumble, with Holly/Brock as the time-killer feud before then.

And I'm not bitching about it. I like lots of blood. Maybe we'll cut lucky and sometime soon he'll cut both his wrists. *remembers who would be taking over* Uh--nevermind. "Kurt Angle is expected to miss three weeks due to his neck surgery which he will undergo today. The operation is said to not be too serious." Probably that's rushing back, too. Take it easy, Kurt!! You *do* realize if she becomes pregnant they're going to run a storyline based on that anyway, so she'll still be on TV, right?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 18, 2003 They'll likely have Holly hunt for Lesnar tonight with Brock avoiding him... Then Holly the next week finds Brock but Morgan and Jones save Brock and they beat down Holly...Benoit makes the Save and the next week it's Benoit/Holly Vs Brock/Morgan/Jones Brock avoids getting in the ring... Finally Brock is left alone and Benoit and Holly go to town on him...A-Train interferes for the DQ. Next Week, Holly wants Lesnar but could care less for the title. Heyman forces him to win a Handicap match against Jones and Morgan and then he can have Lesnar Next week. Holly overcomes the odds thanks to Benoit (who wants to fuck with Brock as much as possible and knows Holly will fuck Brock up)... Heyman, Concerned for Benoit's penchance to get involved makes it a CAGE MATCH. Brock and Holly have a 6 minute stifffest and Holly tries to take out Lesnar but he can't and Lesnar bloodies Holly and drops him "safely" on his neck again...He assholishly walks out of the ring...but comes back in as Holly yells at him... Brock beats him up some...Benoit comes in and scales the cage and cross body press on Lesnar. He throws down some rights and rubs Lesnar's face in the mesh cage. He hits three germans and goes for the Swan Head Dive...But A-train saves Lesnar and pulls him out in time...Benoit stands on the cage and points at Lesnar and does the throat Taunt. Benoit challenges Brock for the title at Rumble but Brock decides Benoit isn't ready for it and suggests that He fight A-Train and then He'll see if he deserves a shot. Beniot cuts a "You don't think I've proven myself?" promo and murders A-Train...Lesnar interferes for the DQ but Benoit gets Lesnar in the Crossface and He taps again... Brock REFUSES to defend the title against Benoit (knowing damn well he can't beat him)...but Heyman points out that Benoit DID win the match and that means Beniot is the #1 contender. Brock finally gets an upper hand when he exploits Benoit's neck injury history and lays Benoit out with a series of Power Bombs to weaken and damage the neck... Rumble Time...Benoit goes over after 25 minutes and wins Via Sharpshooter.
Caliban 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 The word backstage was that Shawn Michaels blade job at Survivor Series was made worse because he was forced to do it while being tossed out of the ring. He then hit his head, making the cut worse. Uh... bullshit. He did it right before he was slingshotted into the steel post... he did it while he was lying on the floor while Christian was holding his legs in preparation for the move. At first I thought he did it DURING the move, like Badd Blood '97, but he does it before.
JN News 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Kurt Angle is expected to miss three weeks due to his neck surgery which he will undergo today. The operation is said to not be too serious. Good. It looks like Kurt will be going to Wrestlemania 20, after all. *Crosses fingers in hopes for an Angle/Benoit ME at WM XX*

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Anyone with a functioning brain can actually see HBK set up to do the blade job when Christian was about to slingshot him into the post. I wasn't even paying much attention and I noticed "Uh-oh, he's digging something in his forehead for a back hand slash,. must be his big blade job"
