He got over without permission while, despite months of pushing and doing everything under the sun for Orton, they still can't get Randy over.

Think of one of your SNL boys. If they weren't hired and book in those skits they would have never made a name for themselves and shown off their talent.

With Goldust it did. They didn't really give him a chance otherwise. For no reason BookDust lost matches to the nWo, UnAmericans and 3MW.

Remember that certain someone who had a 20 year contract? That contract had an out (and I assume it was specifically put in for the purpose it ended up serving). Dammit, why do all the super-long ironclad deals have to be given to total slugs? It didn't have an out. Vince asked Bret to get out of the contract for the sake of the company. Bret obliged, because he believed the WWF were in rough times.

To the guy that answered that it gives him more time to look for work, they could have told him privately, but that they felt the need to make it public that they were not bringing him back 2 months before is strange.
