Tell me what's so stupid about that, you nitwit, since wrestling is suppose to be a contact "sport".

Because actually injuring people makes it harder for them to work the next day. It is a part of the 'sport' to protect your partner and not cripple them. Just like football has rules set up not to hit a quarterback after he's thrown the ball, wrestling has a 'rule' where you don't kick other people as hard as you can in the face.

Are you being serious ?

The whole basis of American pro-wrestling is to make the violence look as real as possible without actually hurting your 'opponent'!

It's not real, it's not meant to be real, this is hardly rocket science.

Either way what do you care, as far as i'm concerned they could kill each other as long as its entertaining. Wrestling doesn't have any rules b/c is fake, if a wrestler is stiff the other wrestler should stiff him back, that's called common sense. And i doubt a freaking spin kick to the face is going to cripple anyone, you are just being a hypocrite b/c now you are going to tell me that wrestling is violent but it shouldn't be too violent, just go and buy yourself a skirt too when u get a chance.

First off, you're obviously ill equiped to handle a keyboard and Internet access at the same time.

Secondly, you can give a guy a concusion with an ill-timed kick to the head as I am sure Bret Hart would be happy to relate to you. Believe me, I don't overtly care about these guy's health for the most part. But when you hurt someone, they are no longer on television for me to watch. From a purely selfish standpoint, needless injuries due to people being unable to strike effectively suck.

Thirdly, yes I will be a HUGE hypocrite by your semi-comatose standards and say that I think that there is a line of violence that wrestling shouldn't cross. Of course, I also think that about every contact sport or performance where the person going through the experience is actually being hurt by it. I'm sure you on the other hand would like to see Hockey Players trying to stab each other with skates. What? Oh wait, they don't do that.

There is one person who is responsible for Rvd not getting the title in 2001 that person is................Karen Angle! Lighten the hell up, Rvd never told you how to strip did he........ Then shut it!

( Insane mode off) :)

Because you have to trust your opponent to not hurt you. Most moves can easily cause SERIOUS damage if your opponent wants to hurt you (heck, slap on a chicken wing and you can basically destroy an arm if you really wish to do so). If a guy can't trust his opponent to not injure him, he can't work a match with him.

Heck, what if Bradshaw stiffed the crap out of RVD? Would you be so flippant?

Then, using your logic, guys who don't like him have all the right in the world to simply not co-operate. Hunter shouldn't sell ANYTHING of his if he legitimately doesn't care for him. Kick out of the Five-Star before Rob even gets on top of him.

You do realize that without their co-operation, Rob's work looks REALLY bad, don't you?

Well, even money says she can sell and work the mic better than RVD.

Following that logic though, why are Nathan Jones and/or Batista not in OVW when all they do is powermoves, and a lot of the times they are done improperly, causing injury on themselves or their opponent. There is a big difference between a bloody nose and a concussion. Plus these guys are taking aspirin to thin their blood down to make it run and make wounds appear worse then they are, so you have to take that into account as well. Basically there are two type of athletes in the WWE right now, The jericho, eddy, benoit, rvd, tajiri's(among others) and/or the nathan jones/batista, big show, triple h, steiner, (among others). One group prides themselves on being great athletes, having their bodies in top form to go out and execute and wrestle and run with the punches, and the other group prides themselves on getting as muscular as can be, learning a power move or two, and umm.......looking really mean!?! Now who would YOU feel more safe in the ring with?

Add to all of this, the last case of RVD working stiff was reported, what a year and a half ago? It's old news, yet it ALWAYS gets brought up, azif every night some guy is in a hospital bed because of RVD. It's just bullshit.

I honestly don't know of Batista injuring guys. As for Jones, I assume he has pics of Vince and a sheep.

There is a big difference between a bloody nose and a concussion.

When people are saying you're too stiff, it's BAD to basically tell them to be tougher. A lot of the guys in the WWE, should they choose to, could BADLY hurt RVD --- but they don't because they take a lot of pride in not injuring their opponents. Injured opponents make making money harder. And, the "bloody nose" could simply be luck. It could have easily BEEN a concussion.

But the "athletes" don't have the problem that RVD has. Tajiri's stuff LOOKS much stiffer --- but I've not heard of him injuring people. Ditto Guerrero and Benoit.

Add to all of this, the last case of RVD working stiff was reported, what a year and a half ago? It's old news, yet it ALWAYS gets brought up, azif every night some guy is in a hospital bed because of RVD.  It's just bullshit.

Given a choice of a guy who injures people and is quite unapologetic about it and a guy who is apologetic, I'd feel better being in the ring with the guy who feels bad about it.

Then again, if Rob ever put down the bong for a day or two, he'd probably be a little more careful.

If Karen Angle can sell, then she certainly wouldn't have learned it from her husband, considering Angle is just as bad as RVD at selling.

Sorry, but Angle is wwaaaaaayyyyyy worse than RVD...at everything.

Except selling (and, no, Kurt is hardly great at it).

And mic skills.

And ring work.

And generating crowd heat.

But, yeah, take away those and Rob is just the best.

RVD's crowd heat puts Angle's to shame.

The rest of your points are a matter of opinion.

Angle may be overrated, but not nearly as much as RVD. Van Dam is one of the worse wrestlers in the company. He's not Nathan Jones bad, but he's easily A-Train bad.

In a way, he's worse than A-Train. RVD has a lot more stamina, so his lousy matches are longer. I'd much rather watch a bad five minute match than a bad fifteen minute one.

To be fair, Rvd is one of my favorite wrestlers and so is Kurt Angle. So I'll say my opinion:

Rvd gets more crowd heat as a face ( Hell, in 2001 he was voted most popular over the Rock, and 2002 for that matter)

Angle is better at making people hate him.

Rvd is better at selling high impact moves such as German suplexes, ddts, etc.

Angle is better at selling submissions

Rvd is a better high-flyer

Angle is Way better in the technical department

It's like comparing apples and oranges, it depends at how you look at it

P.s., Karen Angle is better at getting naked in front of drunken sailors. That is the only thing she does better than Rob.......... oh and she's prettier :)
