Toshiaki Koala Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I always thought "Barely Legal" was a good name for a PPV. As for the worst... 'This Tuesday in Texas', 'Wrestlepalooza', and 'Revenge of the Taker' are pretty bad. 'Bash at the Beach' is probably WCW's worst (although 'Road Wild' is horrid as well)

The Czech Republic Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 (edited) My vote also goes to "It's Time," because the idea was that Vader would be champion by December '96, but he lost at Summerslam, and I don't think he even appeared on his personal show. Some logo. Edited November 28, 2003 by The Czech Republic
Use Your Illusion Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Even though they could never of known what would happen, I'm still disturbed by the fact that Owen Hart fell from the rafters on a PPV named 'Over The Edge'. UYI
Guest BAR Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 All of the above could be the worst, especially Sin and Greed, god damn. As for the best, I'll go with Barely Legal. ECW produced some very nice ones. On first glance my friends always think Hardcore Heaven and Big Ass Extreme Bash are porno's.
Guest JMA Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Best: WrestleMania, Starrcade, Barely Legal, Summerslam, Survivor Series Worst: Hog Wild, Tuesday in Texas, In Your House, Beware of Dog, Hart and Soul, Revenge of the Taker
Guest Anglesault Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 I always liked Revenge of the Taker.
The Czech Republic Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Souled Out was bad after it became just a plain WCW pay-per-view.
Guest BobBacklundRules Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Starrcade is an awesome name. Halloween Havoc is another bad one. Souled Out is quite possibly the worst name ever. Bad Blood with one D is alright, but Badd Blood with two D's is a horrible name.
Slickster Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Starrcade is an awesome name. Halloween Havoc is another bad one. Souled Out is quite possibly the worst name ever. Bad Blood with one D is alright, but Badd Blood with two D's is a horrible name. Odd how people like Starrcade (myself included) when the name is just a ripoff of the old video game TV show Starcade (with 1 R) and doesn't really have an intrinsic meaning anyway. That said, It's Time, Massacre on 34th Street, and Good Friends/Better Enemies are pretty weak names.
Mecha Mummy Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 I never liked the Starrcade name. I didn't see what it had to do with wrestling when I was younger and so it annoyed me. It sounded like the name of a low-budget 80's movie. Not NEARLY as bad as Slamboree, though.
Toshiaki Koala Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 What exactly does "Beware of Dog" refer to? Because I know they wouldn't name a PPV after the Road Dogg.
