Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 25, 2003 I'm a NFC fan in that I follow it more... but I would laugh my ass off if the Bengals get to the playoffs. Laugh my ass off.
Kaertos 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 No, what would be funny about that is, despite having the worst recoed in the AFC playoffs, the Bengals would host a game in the first round, and maybe another depending on how things shake out. Oh yeah... WHO DEY!! Proud Bengals fan for the last 20 years
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Minnesota struggled against Detroit, got hammered by Oakland, Green Bay & San Diego, and have three very tough games coming up. I really don't see them holding off Green Bay for 5 weeks. The Rams have been playing terribly too, but have been squeaking out wins against terrible competition. They are still strong at home and the Seahawks are even worse on the road, but I don't see them (or Seattle for that matter) getting too far in the playoffs against stiffer competition. San Fran has actually played better than either of them for the most part, but they find a way to lose whereas Seattle & St Louis find a way to win more often than not. Thus the Niners will be playing golf after New Year's. Green Bay has an outside chance of making the Super Bowl. They have been able to hang with far superior teams like Kansas City & Philadelphia, but asking them to win three straight games against these teams is a bit much, especially considering how inconsistant they have been. Philadelphia, Dallas & Carolina are the teams to beat in the NFC. Carolina has needed a lot more luck than the other two to win their games, so I would consider them the weakest of the three at this point. As for who is the better team between Dallas & Philly, we'll find that out on December 7th. The AFC doesn't interest me as much, but barring a miracle (or Tennessee playing Indy in the first round) New England, Indianapolis & KC should still be around come the Divisional Playoffs. The Titans are the weakest of the four, having lost to both New England and Indy. New England & Indy battle this week for the #2 slot, and KC right now is running away with the whole thing. The other two teams have no shot.

The other two teams have no shot. It's amazing how little we agree on this ... even as a Patriots fan, I feel like Tennessee is the best team in football right now. Indy is hurting with injuries, and looked like shit last week against Buffalo. The Pats barely beat the Texans, and are decimated at the WR position. And the Chiefs have no defense; once the cold weather rolls through and their offense slows down a bit, they're done. The Titans are the most complete team in the league right now, and if McNair's not too injured think that they have the best chance of heading to Houston for the Super Bowl. Just John 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 The Pats barely beat the Texans, and are decimated at the WR position. Come on, give the Texans some credit. They've played tough in most of their games so far. Don't let their record reflect on their effort. As for the WR thing, did I miss an injury to Troy Brown? They still have a decent receiving group, especially with Troy as the #1.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 The Texans are better than the Atlanta and Jacksonville teams that Tennessee struggled against the past two weeks.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Get ready to update these after the 7th of December, check out these games: Cincinnati at Baltimore Dallas at Philadelphia Indianapolis at Tennessee Seattle at Minnesota Kansas City at Denver Miami at New England And yes, the Texans are a formidable team this year. Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 26, 2003 The Texans just need to get a Healthy Carr and some role players and they are a playoff team...they have the heart and the coaches. Damn That's a HUGE weekend. Gonna be tough to pick the locks that week. As for the Playoffs...I don't see much changing...except Green Bay will take the NFC north since Minnesota save for it's Chicago and Detroit games are free falling and the Packers are just a little better. If McNair can't get healthy...Miami will slide into that sixth Playoff spot. Which means Miami is FUCKED. Why? You do NOT want to play in the Jungle in the Winter. Just as 1981 Chargers Yes, The Bengals. My God, Who would have ever thought this. Most People here in Cincy were more then willing to "settle" for 6 Wins TOTAL but no, Marvin Lewis has changed that in what was SUPPOSED to be the rebuilding season. There still are doubters but think about it...Has ANYTEAM been as consistant as the Bengals this season? Even though, Yes they dropped one to the Cardinals, Every team this year save for the Chiefs seem to have lost a game they should NOT have lost. The Chiefs/Eagles are looking like the primary favorites right now. You might ask...Why not Dallas? They Beat Philly and Carolina after all. Yes, but this was before Philly got all things clicking. Philly, I believe will overtake the NFC EAST. They also have the expirence factor over the Boys as well. The Most Over rated team in Football right HAS to be The St. Louis Rams. If the Seahawks didn't blow it last week, they would still be a contender (and they are...somewhat)... The Superbowl is being played in Houston, which means WHO DOESN'T WANT TENNESEE TITANS to win the AFC? God, The Heel heat they get will rival The Rock in Toronto. Just imagine if Dallas plays just a faint drive from it's hometown. Speaking of which, Has NFL given up on having a Home team play in the superbowl? 2003-San Diego 2004-Houston 2005-Jacksonville 2006-Detroit 2007-Arizona Like ANY of these teams will be in the big one anytime soon. Whatever happened to the whole "GET THE SUPERBOWL TO NYC" drive that was going on...how the NFL thought getting the superbowl in 2007 would help the city after 9/11 and slightly compenstate for losing the 2012 games. Although It's too early to pick the Super Bowl Teams (for all we know, Cleveland could run the table...yeah right)...I have to think if New England can stop losing players to injury and get some back, they would easily be the top of AFC. The NFC, which is an UGLY conference this year, will likely go to the former twice bridesmaids of Philly. Although, Who WOULDN'T love to see the Bengals in the Superbowl? Maybe S.F can get a run going and we can get another classic outta those teams. (yes, they play later this season I know)
Cartman 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Damn, the Indy/NE game this weekend is HUGE. If NE wins they will have beaten both Indy AND Tennessee probably giving them the bye along with KC. I don't see KC losing any more than 1 other game, so they would probably get home field throughout. Meaning they would be HEAVY favorites to go to the Super Bowl, since they never lose at home. They still have a decent receiving group, especially with Troy as the #1. I didn't realize how many people would have been pissed at my selling the Texans short. I just think that a team that's got Banks at QB - regardless of their record - shouldn't have been such a challenge for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations. It's just one of the games that New England should have dominated, not barely won in OT. And, yes, Brown is injured right now, as is the #2 receiver (Givens) so our starting two are normally a 2nd year guy and a rookie, with either recent pickups Dedric Ward or JJ Stokes filling out the receiving corps. You do NOT want to play in the Jungle in the Winter. Just as 1981 Chargers The sixth playoff team plays the 3rd-ranked division winner. Which sure as hell isn't going to be the Bengals, given that they're three games behind right now. Cincinnati will get either Tennessee or Indianapolis. Cartman 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Actually if ya wanna get Technical with the Patriots WR situation, Branch is really #1, Brown #2, Patten #3(inured), Givens #4, Johnson #5...Stokes and Ward are just fill-ins.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Kevin? Possibly. Keyshawn? Hell no. Belichick doesn't need that kind of distraction while he has enough problems keeping a unit together that has been racked by injuries. Take a look at him in the offseason, but they'd better make clear that Keyshawn better keep his mouth shut.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 The Ravens will probably end up with atleast the Dolphins 2nd Wild Card. The Dolphins usually fold up like a tent in December and the only other teams in near contention for the 2nd wild card are the Ravens, Bengals (if they dont win the division) and the Broncos (who the Ravens beat earlier this year...) Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 He obviously means Kevin since Keyshawn is still on the Bucs, whether he is playing or not.
