Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Anyone ever watch a Battle Royal and start thinking "MMM...They should done a Tournament" seeing 18 people in the ring at once...
NYU Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Well.....nice way to screw over the fans and disappoint them. BAIT AND SWITCH~! = HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO THE WWE FANS!!
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 U REALLY thought there were having a fucking match with 3 minutws left in the show?
CanadianChris Posted November 28, 2003 Author Report Posted November 28, 2003 I wasn't watching the clock. Sue me.
The Mandarin Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Every final four has to have at least one unlikely suspect. This week: Shelton Benjamin. Let me try to recall some from the past.. 2001- Billy Gunn 2002- Mr. Perfect 2003- Batista
NYU Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Anyone ever watch a Battle Royal and start thinking "MMM...They should done a Tournament" seeing 18 people in the ring at once... The Intercontinental Title earlier this year. It would have meant so much more for the return of the title if they would have waited a month, and decided to base Bad Blood around an Intercontinental Title tourney. But, of course, they hot-shotted the title to Christian in a stupid battle royal, and nobody really cared. As for this battle royal, I kind of liked it. They should have never promised the Lesnar title shot tonight though, unless they wanted a WHOLE bunch of unhappy fans. They could have easily had the same result, just without screwing over the people.
claydude14 Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 I was hoping the video footage would have a clear cut winner but the announcers would sell it as if it didnt.
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Those are rumbles... I'll do the list 1991-Brian Knobbs 1993-Backlund 1994-Fatu 1995-Crush 1996-Kama 1997-Fake Diesel 1999-D'lo
Spaceman Spiff Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Wasn't Rikishi in the final 4 in the '03 Royal Rumble?
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 03? NO... It was Lesnar, Taker, Batisita, Kane
MillenniumMan831 Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Every final four has to have at least one unlikely suspect. This week: Shelton Benjamin. Let me try to recall some from the past.. 2001- Billy Gunn 2002- Mr. Perfect 2003- Batista I'll add some more (in terms of pushes at the time): 1989 - Rick Martel 1990 - Rude/Hercules 1991 - Bulldog/Knobbs 1993 - Backlund/Martel 1994 - Fatu 1995 - HOG 1996 - Kama 1997 - "Diesel" 1999 - D-Lo Brown 2000 - X-Pac EDIT --- Choken beat me out to most of those. Other battle royals: SNME 1987 - Smash SNME 1991 - Valentine WM2 - Russ Francis WMIV - Paul Roma Oh crap, can't think of any more.
ANKLELOCK Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 I really enjoyed the battle royal because I thought it would suck. John Cena may be the most over wrestler in WWE right now. Good Show overall. And to whoever said RAW is better than SD!, no, it isn't. The gap isn't as gaping but it is still the same.

(Luger, Crush, Shawn and Bulldog were the final 4) Rude was a former I.C champion fresh off an feud with Warrior... X-Pac was the #2 heel of sorts and had A HUGE push going into the rumble getting the #30 slot.
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Valentine wasnt a shock since he was always hyped as the IRON MAN... Shawn was a bigger out of place person as he was merely a tag teamer.
MillenniumMan831 Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Valentine wasnt a shock since he was always hyped as the IRON MAN... Shawn was a bigger out of place person as he was merely a tag teamer. I forgot about Michaels. I figured that whole Ironman thing was just a Monsoon reference toward him. "He doesn't get warmed up till 20 minutes in" he'd profess night after night. I'll give ya Rude, but X-Pac did finish 3rd and eliminated Kane, which I wouldn't (but probably should've) expected.

If you recall, X-Pac cheated about 4 times in 2 minutes just to eliminate Kane.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 This is a lose-lose situation for Benoit. If he wins, he is jobbing to Lesnar and Cena is getting "the real" shot at RR. If he loses... he loses. He gets the "real" shot at RR, but he lost to Cena... AGAIN. The only way they can make it right is have Lesnar come in and F-5 Benoit costing him the match - as if to say he doesn't want Benoit and that Cena is an easier win. Of course, Cenamania runs wild, so I'm bettin that Cena beats Benoit in about a minute.
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 and what makes you so fucking sure that Lesnar would go over Benoit? Esp since Lesnar/Goldberg is all but penciled in for Mania...
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Because Benoit is Benoit - and I am convinced the WWE will never do him right.
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Benoit could go over the corpse of Andre the Giant but you would still bitch because he didn't win with the Crossface but merely the swan dive. RRR: Clearly, Benoit isn't MAN enough to make that dead rotting corpse tap out. Fuck WWE.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Fuck that. I'd bitch about Benoit having to fucking bump for another hoss.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 The battle royale was alot of fun. It's been done soooooo many times but I still mark out when everyone converges on Big Show. Smackdown doesn't have really good storylines but the wrestling is still better then anything you'll see on RAW. The only downside to the show was The Cat skit. Smackdown > Raw
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 We've established this Raw: Better Storylines Smackdown: Better Wrestling (barely)
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 I don't find Raws storylines to be particularly "good". It all seems painfully same-old, same-old.
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 at least they make sense... Once they eliminated the Austin factor...the storylines are better. Smackdown seems a little confused... and Raw deserves points for making something with it's shitty roster and just about everyone save for Dreamer, Spike...have a purpose. SD has about 15 people wandering aimlessly.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 I have to agree with that. I don't give a shit about practically everyone on the RAW roster (my own fault due to my apathy, I'm willing to admit) but I do recognize how the writers have been able to find something to do with so many of those on that roster. Can't say the same about Smackdown.
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Exactly... Name ANY raw wrestler and with the exception of Dreamer and Oft-Injured Spike...Everyone seems to get an spot on the show and has something going on...one way or another. The Battle Royal showed how SD has about 15 people doing NOTHING and how the show is focused on ONLY 10 people... Cena, Brock, Benoit, Morgan, Jones, TBS, Eddy, Chavo, Tajiri and Knoble. 11, if you count A-Train as a person.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 So how does "doing something" translate into "good"?
Guest Choken One Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 who said good? I said "BETTER".
