Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 Souray and Theodore both made it, if Montreal could have one more player it would be Riberio, but that'll be three players
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 23, 2004 Well I was going to say the Jackets were making a comeback after McLean left but last night was horrible. But congrats to Rick Nash for making the All-Star team at 19. At least Columbus has a future superstar if the league doesn't fall apart.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 TSN is reporting that the Capitals have (finally) traded Jaromir Jagr to the Rangers for Anson Carter.
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 I'm kinda surprised the NHL doesn't have the "one representative per team" clause on the All Star game. I would have thought hey would have tried to cater to every city to have a reason to possibly watch.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 TSN is reporting that the Capitals have (finally) traded Jaromir Jagr to the Rangers for Anson Carter. It pains me to say this as a Ranger fan, but if the Rangers are trying to reform the 1996 All Star Game team, they're doing a mighty good job. Thank god they didn't have to give up Purinton in the deal.

It pains me to say this as a Ranger fan, but if the Rangers are trying to reform the 1996 All Star Game team, they're doing a mighty good job. Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Somewhere in the ESPN offices, there is much self-gratification going on in anticipation of Jagr,Messier, and Lindros all on the Rangers together. I expect ESPN to carry every Rangers game from now to the end of their season.

treble 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 I've heard pretty much the whole team could be traded. Kolzig to Philly, Gonchar to Toronto, I doubt anyone's safe. I heard Gonchar hurt his shoulder, though, last night. If so, he'd fit right in with the Leafs.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Is Washington in that much trouble financially that they have to trade away the whole team?
treble 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 I don't think it's that bad, it's just that the owner is probably frustrated that he has all these high priced players and are really no better than the Penguins, who are pretty much a team of minor leaguers. And it's not as if he's only getting scrubs back for these guys, as Anson Carter is a pretty good player himself, so he's not going to just give them away for draft picks and prospects. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 24, 2004 Columbus really needs another scorer. Denis has around a .910 save % and the team still can't win. Argh, if only they had opened the wallet a bit and kept Whitney for another season or two.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 COlumbus and Florida are in similar situations. Both teams have amazing goaltenders, but not enough support for them. I mean, Luongo had 50 shots thrown at him the other night. That's insane. Florida has a brighter future than Columbus, thanks to all the young talent they have. Columbus should be better...they added Darryl Sydor and that speedy guy from Edmonton. Too bad their defense is still atrocious.
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Welcome to New York, Jaromir. 4-0 Ottawa after 1 period. *edit* 6-0 ....4 1/2 minutes into the 2nd
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Edit that to 7-0......Even though I'm a Ranger fan, I want to see Ottawa beat them 15-0.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 9-1. Close enough. God, the Rangers have a terminal case of the fucking sucks.

Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Has Dunham been that bad? I don't care enough to go look up his stats.I know he's hurt now.
Dogbert 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 They can have Roman Turek! Anytime! Please?
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 M. Dunham 37 games 11- 17 -6 2.75 .903 Ok. Nothing too spectacular. As for Turek.....with Kiprusoff out, I don't know if I'd be pinning my hopes on Jamie McLennan. He might have had a good stretch earlier in the season but there is a reason he's been in the league 10 years and never really been the #1 guy......an .898 career save percentage to start..... Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Wow. I'd like to take this time to apologize on behalf of the Rangers. They suck....and they just can't come to terms with it. Expect more offense until we're beating Ottawa 10-9.....
treble 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2004 Don't apologize. The rest of us enjoy watching the Rangers flounder. Keep it coming.

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2004 I was in La Crosse over the weekend and was able to watch some Minnesota Wild games...since when did they suck and San Jose was good? What happened? Anyone? Bueller? San Jose finally realizes that ties don't convert into wins. Minnesota realizes they aren't New Jersey, and can't play the trap well therefore need to score more goals
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2004 This is the real San Jose. Last year was the fluke year......they started off with all the contract squabbles and never really recovered. And they have Nils Ekman now.
