EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Update On Status Of TNA Video Game Posted By Ashish on 12.09.03 Looks unlikely... Despite strong rumors a few weeks ago, it does not appear as if EA will be making NWA: TNA video games anytime soon. EA had signed a deal with WCW to make their games shortly before WWE bought out the promotion. Even though WCW games won't be made now, the wording of the deal likely prohibits EA from making any non-WCW wrestling games until 2005. syxx2001 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Probably means "non-WCW games (excluding games with fake wrestlers)" just like the WWE contracts keep people from wrestling in other promotions as long as they arent seen as a viable threat
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Well...maybe they'll go sign with a different company that will SOMEHOW wrestle Aki (no pun intended) away from EA, if only for one game?
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I don't really think that there would be enough of a customer base for this to succeed. If people don't know the product do you really think that they would buy a video game of it?
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I think some people who dont like rap bought DJV just because it was a wrestling game. Then there are others who dont like wrestling and bought it cause it had rappers in it.

This will be a wrestling game similar to the WWE ones, except it will feature mainly people who the general public does not know. I personally can't see it being successful. The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Actually, slap Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Rick Steiner, Raven (who was on the cover of WCW/NWO Revenge amazingly) as well as a few newcomers and you'll get wrestling fans attention when they're shopping in the store. But...if you make it a great game, ala No Mercy, the buzz surrounding it will boost sales. Dames
deancoles 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 They could also put Luger on there.

tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 I hate when PWTorch run stories like this. The TNA/EA deal was off months ago, Mike Tenay said so in an Ask The Professor column on TNA. He also said that other companies were interested, yet the Torch's selective reporting ignores this.
Guest JacK Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Yeah, I thought the EA deal was dead a while ago . . . but having said that I can't stand Smackdown 5, so I'm still hangin out for a TNA game. I mean, they SURELY can't make big dudes so much better than smaller wrestlers of similiar card position, and even if they do, the only large statured guy they have that comes to mind is Abyss, and he's being pushed a fair bit anyway. So it's all good; as long as it happens. It better happen . . .

Also you're forgetting why Raven was on the cover. I believe it was Goldberg, Hogan, Nash, and Raven. WCW, NWO B&W, Wolfpac, Flock. Resounding theme throughout the game. Not because Raven sells. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2003 WCW/nWo Revenge=Still best wrestling game ever in my opinion. I liked getting the camera angle real close to the ring and then doing a dive outside the ring on the camera's side, "Right into your living room!"
