Favorite Way Of Belts Carried

OK...this is spawned from the "This Day In History" thread about Jericho's Undisputed Title win 2 years ago.

 

What's your favorite way of a title belt being carried by someone? There's a few:

 

1) Around the waist

2) Over the shoulder (very often used by people to large for the belt around the waist)

3) Dragged behind (see Austin, Steve)

4) Switch between drag and over shoulder (See Rock, The)

5) Carried by manager (see Hearst Helmsley, Hunter, DX days)

6) Worn around neck (see Dudley, Bubba Ray or Undertaker, The)

7) Worn around bicep (she Show, Big: Hardcore Title)

I always used to love seeing Ric Flair come out with his robe on and his belt around the waste. Made the title look even more prestigious.

Yeah...I forgot about that mention.

 

A variation on 1: Around waist, but hidden until the last moment by a robe or jacket (see Flair, Ric or, unfortunately, below picture)

Number 1, but especially if there ring attires is the trunks ala HHH, i just think the belt looks damn good when worn like that, its the whole centre of attention thing.

I always liked Bret Hart's around the waist and then over the shoulder. He use to say "I wear my belt on the left (shoulder) so it's over my heart."

 

I remember when Bret beat Deisel for the title he said "I hated seeing Deisel drag the belt to the ring because he disrespected the title."

I loathe how Buh Buh Ray heaves his title belt into the ring when he makes his entrance. It's a sacrilege to the great teams who have worn that belt with honour.

 

Same goes for all the other monkeys who don't wear the belt around the waists like they're supposed to. They're belts! Duh!

I know those belts are big and heavy, but I always think it is going to fall apart when he throws it like that.

Around the waist. It completely changes the look of the wrestler when doing so. There's something really special about seeing a wrestler that you either love or despise wearing THE belt. Amazing, but Angle looked like a big time star when he wore the Euro title for the first time around his waist. Same goes for Brock when he wore the Undisputed Title. Oh, and would Jericho's "it never happened" moment have had the same effect if he merely HELD the WWF title in his hands? No, he was wearing it and I marked as a result.

Yeah, wearing the belt around the belt is the classic way. Every wrestler thin enough should wear it that way, at least to begin with.

OK...most people agree with me about the wearing the belt around the waist.

 

But what if you're too large to wear it around your waist...and don't feel like buying extensions for it like Bertha Faye did as Women's Champion?

I also like how Van Dam wears his done up around his shoulder, usually when worn around the shoulder its just drapped over.

Definitely around the waist. But over the shoulder is acceptable, as well as carried by a manager (or the wrestler himself) with the straps folded behind to show off the gold.

That was a neat moment in history, indeed.

 

Although...what would be really neat for just comedic relief would be seeing Liz trying to wear the belt around her waist.

Around the waist is the best. It just seems classier and shows respect for the title.

 

If they can't wear it around their waist, then I'd say over the shoulder or have a manager or valet carry it.

 

I always hated when Austin or Rock would just drag it behind them like it was a piece of trash. It was even worse when they would chuck it down to the ground before getting in the ring. You never saw Flair or Bret doing that.
