Statement #1:

The Rock has won his last World Championship.

Rock: False. For the same reason my uncle has a pair of nuts – because it just is.

JR: False. He’s such a great athlete, and he’s so young. He could decide to come back on a more full-time basis in two years, and get right back in the hunt.

Statement #2:

The Rock’s “This Is Your Life” bit was the most entertaining segment in RAW history.

Rock: Very true. And the highest rated.

JR: False. It was extremely entertaining, but I’m more entertained by wrestling than talking. I’m an old-school guy.

Statement #3:

USC should have been picked for the National Championship game.

Rock: True. In the islands, we call that day-old stale horses***.

JR: False. Not according to the BCS poll. They have a great team? Absolutely. They deserve to play for a championship? Good argument. But the argument is between USC and LSU. Oklahoma is 12-1. They played a tougher schedule than the other two teams. They were No. 1 for 14 weeks. Of course, I’m biased. So USC’s issues are between them and LSU. And who’s to say USC’s going to beat Michigan?

Statement #4:

Kellen Winslow will be the NFL’s best tight end within three years.

Rock: Does he play for Miami? Then you’re damn right.

JR: False. Jeremy Shockey. Ada, Oklahoma. Farm boy. Wasn’t raised with the opportunities Kellen Winslow had. I think Shockey’s got the intangibles that are going to make him the best tight end in football.

Statement #5:

J.R. is the best announcer in wrestling history.

Rock: True. It’s a dead heat between Jim Ross and Al Snow.

JR: False. That honor belongs to Gordon Solie. The rest of us are playing for No. 2.

Is it just me, or is the Rock more profane offscreen than on?

Ugh, Jeremy Shockey sucks. Can you believe that guy was nailing Vida Guerra? Blah.

If the guy gets some terrible injury that kills his football career, I could see him jumping to WWE. He's stupid enough to do it, and enjoys trash talking so he could probably cut a decent promo.

McDaniels hits the "su-play" as his opponent wears the crimson mask....

To be fair to JR... he was the best in the business from 89-00, and only recently began to decline. To just say "fuck JR" is unfair.

I mean what did he say in this interview to warrant "fuck JR"?

Nothing, but consider the source here.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! AUSTIN/TAKER WAS HIGHER THAN THIS! IT BROKE 9.0 OR 10.0 OR SOMETHING, BUT IT WAS HIGHER THAN 8.4! I'm sorry, but that pisses me off so much.

That was a match, not a segment.

 Segment is a piece of time. "The 8:00 to 8:15 segment was great." From dictionary.com:

seg·ment ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sgmnt)

n.

1. Any of the parts into which something can be divided: segments of the community; a segment of a television program.

Highest rated interview maybe, segment NO.

I agree it's unfair to say "fuck J.R." He's right, Gordon Solie was the best commentator in the business. He's also right about wrestling being more entertaining than talking. Ross is an old school guy, he's not like Stephanie.

Since Curry said it, I can give a reasonable explanation as to why:

1) JR sucks. Ass. Man Ass. Big Fat Hosstacular Man Ass. Big Fat Smashmouth Hosstacular Man Ass. Big Fat Inverted High Impact Smashmouth Hosstacular Man Ass.

2) JR's obsession with football. It leads to crappy football references throughout the show and crappy former football players getting signed to which JR splooges over their football record like it actually means something. FUCK WHY DON'T YOU JUST COMMENTATE FOOTBALL YOU FAT FUCK! Oh yeah, you did, and you SUCKED. JUST LIKE YOU SUCK AT ANNOUNCING WRESTLING! AT LEAST GORDON SOLEY LET SOMEONE GOOD ANNOUNCE WHEN HE WAS ON THE DOWNSWING! AND JUST-IN-CASE-YOU-FORGOT-THAT-SOMEONE-WAS-YOU. BUT NNNOOOO YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY HIRE A *GOOD* ANNOUNCER, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE FUCKING COACH TAKE YOUR DUTIES IN ORDER TO MAKE YOU LOOK GOOD!

So yeah, that's what Curry was saying....

exactly...for years, i've been trying to figure out how having been a football player somehow translates into being a good wrestler...i fail to see the connection.

Well, Stan Hansen played football... he played football. he was tuff. he wrestled good. That's the only connection I can make. The majority of wrestlers who were football players were FAILED football players (why else would they be wrestling?) - in that case, why would you even bring them up? "Oh, they're not good enough for the NFL but they're good enough for us!"... meanwhile, Monday Night Football is playing on another station. Good fucking call Jimbo, way to give free advertisement to your competition. Lilian Garcia sings the national anthem at a football game and "it's the biggest thing she's ever done" and they make a 10 minute segment on confidential on it. A football player does Booker T's "five time" hand gesture and they go on and on and on about it like it's important. The XFL bombed, stop looking to football to validate your existance Vince and Jim - you're both fucking carnys and you'll always be carnys, get over it.

Edit: Curry said this, I'm just translating... man Curry, you got some hate in ya. Doesn't Smashmouth Wrestling appeal to you? It's Gridiron Goodness.

About JR's obsessiong with football. Simple JR lost his cherry to a football player, of course he was tied up and gagged at the time trying to scream but, you get the point.
