Guest Bottled Black Report post Posted December 22, 2003 How are they going to handle the ECW matches since Joey Styles wont give them permission to use his voice. Are they going to have some lame voiceover bullshit?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted December 22, 2003 How are they going to handle the ECW matches since Joey Styles wont give them permission to use his voice. Are they going to have some lame voiceover bullshit? How so? I thought owning the footage practically meant everything on it except of unlicensed theme music from outside people. Guest Bottled Black Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I dont remember where i read it but I remember reading that Styles threatened to sue if they used his commentary because they didnt have permission and that Jesse Ventura had actually sued for the same thing
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 Ventura didn't sue because they were using his commentary without his say so, it was because he wasn't getting his cut on the royalties from videos with his commentary on them

Tawren 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 Why is Mind Games on there AGAIN? God... Anyways, solid release, but I still need to get the cage and Flair DVDs first. Tawren, I order you to buy those DVDs! Flair DVD is better, but that doesn't mean BloodBath sucks. Yeah, I need to...neither is out in Canada yet, though
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I just watched the 1:31 ad for it on that website. Damn I need to buy this.
Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted December 22, 2003 Thanks for clearing that up. Anyone know if I was right about the Styles thing? Yes, you are indeed right sir. If you search 1wrestling.com long enough, you can find his numerous statements on the subject. Basically Joey's bone of contention is that the WWF owns the rights to teh footage, but not his voice or likeness. He already gave them a legal tap on the shoulder when they used him on WWF programming without his permission, so unless they've come to some sort of agreement on a per-match or per-DVD basis (which is entirely possible), expect some sort of "Special Edition!" JR & Mick Foley commentary, a la the Shawn/Nash/Coach commentary on Shawn's DVD.

pochorenella 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 Don't get me wrong, I love the RR2000 Street Fight, and the Mind Games match, but COME ON!!! The Rumble match is on 5 different DVDs and the Mind Games one is on two other DVDs already. Where the hell is the HITC match from No Way Out 2000??? It's Foley's "retirement" match and it's never been released on DVD. It Kicks ass, too!! The rest of the list seems awesome, but it still could have gone over the top, IMO. * marks out for the British Bulldogs tag match *
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted December 23, 2003 WWE brings the awesome once again. Maybe they should shut down the promotion and just spend all their time releasing DVD sets. I'm sure quite a few people's opinions of them would improve. No, they should just let Molly do a demonstration every week.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2003 That's pretty cool that they put the Foley debut match against the British Bulldogs from 1986.

It kinda pisses me off they have the rumble match on there again, I have that match on dvd at least 3 times now. And I own Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops, so I already got the Mind games match as well. Meh oh well, maybe the HIAC match will be hidden in there somewhere, still a must buy, which like the flair dvd, I probably will never find here.

geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2003 That can't be right. They have 3 matches from WCW and 5 from ECW. I bought the best of Cactus from ECW and already own most of the WWF matches. The reason I was buying this was for Cactus from WCW. I really hope that isn't the list.
