art_vandelay Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Yeah I think it is Tiger Bomb. Isn't a Tiger Driver when the person does pretty much a double underhook piledriver, or something like that? A double underhook kneeling piledriver would be a Tiger Driver '91. A sit-out double underhook powerbomb is a standard Tiger Driver. Misawa uses both (TD'91 only on special occasions). Jamie Noble/Rodney Mack use the latter. There really is no Tiger Bomb, but for simplicity's sake, calling a Tiger Driver a Tiger Bomb in the US should be perfectly acceptable since that's what it looks like.
Slayer Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 A double underhook kneeling piledriver would be a Tiger Driver '91. Is that similar to what happened the first time Trips used the Pedigree (when they other guy went vertical and took the nasty bump)?
Guest Quik Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Waitaminute... did he have the seizure during the UK PPV, or hear about his mom at the PPV? Because I thought it was the former. I'm pretty sure he had the seizure after finding out she died. If I recall correctly, he found out on the PPV and just kind of broke down and had the seizure. Someone else might have a better memory of this but I'm almost positive he had the seizure during the PPV after learning his mom had either passed away or had become extremely ill. Seriously, what kind of dumbfuck opts for the middle of a live broadcast as the ideal time to tell someone their mother died? Like, you couldn't wait until an hour and a half later to break the news to the poor guy? Then again, I'm sure Vince thought it would make for interesting TV.
Coffin Surfer Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Tiger Driver-Sit out Double Arm Powerbomb. Release Tiger Driver-Knee Drop Double Arm Powerbomb. Tiger Driver 91-Vertical Sheer Drop Release Double Arm Powerbomb. Not a piledriver, which would need a head scissors. Double Arm Powerbomb-What Jamie Knoble does. Tiger Bomb-I believe the origion of the term is when Joey Styles made this name up to call the Lyger Bomb, because he didn't want to call it a Lyger Bomb. Now it's used to miscall the Double Arm Powerbomb in the WWE.
The Metal Maniac Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Is that similar to what happened the first time Trips used the Pedigree (when they other guy went vertical and took the nasty bump)? Yes, except when taking a TD '91, the guy will land on the back of his head and neck, not the top. Exact same thing really, only the guy tucks his head. And I assumed the name Tiger Bomb came about because the move technically is a sort of powerbomb, thus it makes more sense to use "bomb" and not "driver", even though Tiger Driver is what it was originally called.
Toxxic Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Kinda sorta unrelated: I wish JR would stop calling it a tiger bomb, because it's just a sitting powerbomb. A tiger bomb is what Jamie Noble does. Not that I'm surprised that JR's addled brain can't wrap around concepts like the actual names of finishers. To the glue factory with you! What gets me is that JR used to know what the Unprettier was. Now he thinks it's Christian's reverse DDT. And just once I'd like to grab him by his lapels, shake him vigorously and shout "Shane McMahon is NOT going 'Coast to Coast', he's doing the fucking Van Terminator! Which RVD, a current member of the Raw roster invented!" Idiot.
