Even though I've seen every episode at least once I still find myself getting sucked into watching an episode every time it's on. I often have to put a tape in the VCR just to make sure I don't miss anything. Right now, this is the only show that I've completely watched before for which I will do this. Anyone else a fan of the show? Do tell.
Guest DVD Spree Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I touched on this in my DVD News update, but basically many Bruce Lee fans hate David Carradine's fucking guts because Kung Fu was originally a concept co-created by Lee which was then given to Carradine, despite the man having truly pathetic martial arts ability. He then went on to piss on the Little Dragon's grave by starring in The Silent Flute (Bruce's great unmade masterpiece), and then took a big swirly on it by claiming that Bruce had visited him in a dream and told him to take the role. Asshole.

Asshole. Can you prove Bruce DIDN'T visit him in a dream? Hmmm, can you? No seriously....if you can, do it cause I have much rage over that statement he made. However, I like Carradine. He seems like he might be a fun villian in KILL BILL VOLUME 2 and while his skills are very suspect, I think he is rather interesting at times. Kung Fu was average for me at best, just didn't grab me like it should.

Well, since Lee was probably none too pleased that Carradine basically flushed his Hollywood career down the toilet, if he DID visit him in a dream, it was probably de deliver a sound beating and the converstaion would've been something like "Take my job will you, mother fucker? You can take this beating, too! And I hope you take the role in Sient Flute, too, so I can give you ANOTHER beating, WAZAAAAAAA~!" However, I like Carradine. He seems like he might be a fun villian in KILL BILL VOLUME 2 and while his skills are very suspect, I think he is rather interesting at times. Oh, I think he's quite cool in Bill (not that we've exactly seen much of it so far). He's got a great, raspy bad-guy voice, and I'm sure his fighting weaknesses will be heavily disguised (or replaced) by Wo Ping. Kung Fu was average for me at best, just didn't grab me like it should. Like it should, say, if Bruce Lee was in it. Imagine how FUCKING COOL that would have been, just imagine it (sigh). He'd have been dropping that "Don't concentrate on the finger" shit every week, and better yet, Bruce would have been coming up with it HIMSELF. People don't realise how good that show could've been.

They're going to Enter the Dragon type islands for fighting tournaments while doing counter espionage for Robert Vaughn. WTF? David Carradine is probably the best actor of the Carradine brothers, although Keith was very good in Nashville and actually won an Oscar for best original song for writing "I'm Easy" for it. And you can't say that David didn't kick mucho ass in Deathrace 2000.
