According to Jason Powell, Benoit vs. Lesnar is still scheduled to headline the Royal Rumble PPV. In the meantime, Brock's feud with Hardcore Holly will only be a mini-feud that will culminate in a WWE Title match in Alabama, Holly's home state.

Off topic...

What happen to the observer news letter that use to get posted on this board every week? Someone use to take it from another forum and post it here. Then someone threw a hissy fit over not giving/getting credit for it and we haven't seen it in weeks.

I think Vince might play his "feud subject to change" card if he gets cold feet with Benoit. If Brock/Benoit actually happens at the Rumble, that's great though, and I wouldn't mind a bit. I still can't see it happening....yet.

Uh, did any of you guys see SD this week? Benoit is SO not fighting Brock at the Rumble.

I can think of worse PPV Title Match build ups...

Angle/Undertaker SSeries 00 anyone? I don't even REMEMBER how that became.

That was actually a pretty solid build...

After a long absence The Undertaker returned to the WWF at Judgment Day 2000. He was immeadiatly thrust into the ME scene again, however the WWF Title eluded him as it so often has...

At KOTR 2000, Kurt Angle became the King of the Ring and in a fit of celebration... threw food and milk all over The Undertaker's bike. In the following weeks Kurt refused to apologize for his actions and even attacked The Undertaker. The two had a PPV match at Fully Loaded that's more famous for SK's review of it then the match itself, and Undertaker picked up a decisive victory. But it would be Kurt Angle moving on to bigger and better things...

Kurt Angle entered into a feud with the man who was, at the time, the hottest man in the business: Triple H. He took part in a Championship Triple Threat with Rock and Hunter at SS and blew the feud off with HHH at Unforgiven (Later in that show UT would get a shot at the WWE Title himself in a Fatal Four Way with Rock, Benoit, and Kane involved as well. Rock would retain). Again, Angle suffered a key loss, and again Angle managed to rebound better then he was before...

At No Mercy 2000, Kurt Angle ended The Rock's 4 month run with the Gold and became WWF Champion. In the next month, The Undertaker won a multi-man Number One Contender Match on SmackDown and made his intentions known: He was going to recapture the gold on the 10th Anniversary of his debut (And the 1st of Angle's) at Survivor Series, and shut Kurt up once and for all. Angle was determined to prove he wasn't a fluke champ.

That's the build in a nutshell.

Damn, the whole UT/Angle Part 2 feud was just a blur to me.

Anyway, I've seen worse from WWF than Brock/Holly...

Oh wait, that was WCW. DAVID ARQUETTE IN A WORLD TITLE MATCH!?! AGH!

But still, everyone complains about the same people being in the World Title scene. No Angle, no Taker, no Big Show...

so when the available persons are Holly, Cena, and Benoit, then finally it's something new. But Cena is going to win the U.S Title, and must of us believe Benoit is winning the title anyway, so it's just a way to feed people to Brock who don't matter and won't have their status hurt.

Oh man, does that mean another loss for a wrestler on his home turf? Let's see what we get when we add this to the news from Meltzer just a little while ago. Benoit vs Lesnar at the Rumble doesn't really add up right now but of course that doesn't mean anything. Smackdown was reportably rewritten last Thursday so who knows what's going on.

If Vince is smart enough, he'll let Benoit win the title at the Rumble.

But Heyman said Benoit won't get a title shot. You know, now that I think about it maybe they're going to have a non title match at the Rumble and save a title match for later on.

If Benoit was going to win at NWO if it was in Canada, then him.

IF the title match happens at the Rumble, I think it's a strong chance he wins. Brocks reign would have lasted 4+ months, pretty long by todays standards. LOL
