Eclipse 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2003 AV 3 will suck...BIG TIME. The reason I even liked any of the AV movies was because of Carrey. Mask 2...with a baby....
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2003 Question -- is the baby supposed to be the Carrey character as a young-in? Because if it is, shouldn't this be a prequel?... No. Here is the "plot", if you want to call it that "This newest film in the "Mask" series focuses on aspiring cartoonist Tim Avery (Kennedy) who's feeling reluctant to become a father when he finds that he has to take care of a baby with amazing abilities.. somehow, the baby has the powers of the Mask of Loki, a mythological object that transforms its user into a manic shapeshifter alter-ego. As bad as a baby with godlike powers might seem, the 'really' bad news is that Loki (Cumming) wants his mask back..." No matter how many times I read that, I can't help but cringe and wonder what the hell Alan Cummings was smoking to sign onto this. Then again, he signed on for "Spice World"

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2003 Here is the "plot", if you want to call it that After reading that post I'm not sure if I should thank you or not. Spice World was good. One good thing I'll say about that movie is I thought the end credits were cute...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 24, 2003 (edited) Why bother doing a Sequel if the reason the movie was a success isn't even involved... It's one thing when it's Vin Diesel getting booted from XXX2 but when you KNEW Carey wasn't coming back it's fucking stupid. Props to Carey for having respect to NOT do sequels... Aside from AV2 he hasn't done a sequel and I can't think of any other "A-LIST ELITE" player that doesn't want to do Sequels... *I Won't count Batman Forever since it wasn't a sequel for HIS character. Hanks? Toy Story Cruise? M:I. Ford? Indiana Jones. Smith? M.I.B. Gibson? Lethal Weapon. De Niro? Meet The Parents. Myers? Austin Powers. Jack? Terms of Endearment/Evening Star Murphy? Bev. Hills Cop and Dolittle. Affleck? Jay and Silent Bob strike Back. Damon? Ocean's 12. Clooney? Ocean's 12. Eastwood? The Dirty Harry Series. Pacino? Godfather Freeman? KissGirls/Along Came a Spider Arnold? Terminator. Douglas? Jewel of Nile. Willis? Die Hard. Stallone? Rocky Spacey? It's a Bugs Life Williams? Aladin. I was going to mention Kevin Costner but he hasn't been worthwhile since A PERFECT WORLD. (Which OWNS the fucking earth). Is there anyone I'm missing? I am not counting recently became big stars but Hollywood Box Office Mainstays for the last 15 years... Here is the REALLY short list... -Adam Sandler -Leonardo DeCaprio -Dustin Hoffman -Nick Cage -Denzel Washington -Russel Crowe Edited December 24, 2003 by Choken One

Has Christopher Walken ever came back for a sequel? Also, Costner had a good movie out recently so I'd say he still is sorta right there. Not as big as he once was, but still hanging. And has Travolta done one? I can't remember.

How the hell do these movies get made? And..where can I find the trailer? EDIT: I think he did 'Spice World' as a favor to his buddies. I'm not sure if he is, or was, friends with the Spice Girls, but it's just a suggestion.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2003 Oh, I found this so totally amusing: The only thing that could make this worse, were Carrey actually to be in it. Then not only would we have a steaming pile of dung, but we'd have a steaming pile of dung clinging to Jim Carrey's up till now, pretty solid career. I mean, at least up until today he's avoided acting with dancin Ally McBeal babies (I wonder if Calista makes Harrison Ford do the baby dance on weekends?). Sadly, the same can't be said for Jamie Kennedy, the talentless boob powering this particular sequel. Oh, and a quick message for Alan Cumming: You are Nightcrawler! You don't have to do shit movies anymore. I love that last sentence. Well, duh That quote comes from http://www.rottentomatoes.com/click/movie-...e=1&rid=1230738
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 24, 2003 I wish Carey would just stick to the Truman Show/Man on the Moon route... Fuck idiot moviegoers who'd rather watch a "decent" fourmula comedy like Bruce Almighty. "Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind" which is written by Charlie Kaufman...So you know that's gonna be a fucking KRAZY movie and it's a fucking AWESOME title to boot...will likely get him that fucking Oscar Nod he deserved for Truman Show and MONTM. I mean Shit...If Kaufman can write Cage to a Nomination, Carrey should be easy shit.
