Dubbed by MTV rappers who are smoking the wacky tobaccy after playing import PS2 games? For some reason I cannot change the channel due to the campy voice acting. I think MTV just hired a bunch of popular mtv pop artists to do the dubbing, meaning they have no experience in this of course, especially in foreign dubbing. Nice butchering job mtv. I saw it up at Sam Goody not too long ago, but both Amazon and Buy.com don't even have it listed anymore. I liked the other MTV Originals I've seen (2Gether was great and Jailbait (I think was the name...) was pretty good). Now it is at a more reasonable price of $19.95 but I don't know, I'm not a big fan of special effects martial arts movies. commentary track BAYBEE. Commentary on movies are great features, the Ric Meyers on Drunken Master helped explain alot of questions I had. Well, I'm quite up on the Hong Kong movie scene, which I guess is my "specialist" area. Bey Logan is such a fucking legend though - having been a fan for twenty odd years before actually moving to Hong Kong and working in the movie industry there - that he can drop wisdom on Asian cinema that most other people don't know. That's why his commentaries are so awesome - plus he reads TSM, which automatically makes him the man. But having listened to his Bichunmoo commentary with Mike Leeder, he has TOTALLY opened me up to Korean cinema, which I pretty much turned my nose at before. I can honestly say that the man's commentaries are right up there with Kevin Smith's as both the most entertaining and informative available. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It's certainly an aquired taste - there are times watching Storm Riders is like playing Dragon Ball. But it's just sooooo stylish, I love it. I've got the Universe (same as Tai Seng) DVD - region 0, couple of cool featurettes (in Cantonese, of course, but with no dubbing), trailers, galleries and so on. However, the Region 2 release has both the Chinese cut and the (much shorter) international cut, and is basically identical except the featurettes are subtitled, which makes a great deal of difference to non-Cantonese speakers, and worth bearing inmind if you're thinking of buying.
