I didn't know Bruce Almight did that good :/

And yeah, it's a safe bet that LoTR will beat Nemo.

unless it makes another 100 million in the next 3 days, I doubt it. It will put Nemo to shame in 04 though..

See, that's what I said last week, until someone explained to me that if a movie opens in 2003, even if it makes no money at all until 2004 where it earns 1000000 mil on January 1st 04, it counts as the highest grossing movie in 2003, or something.

Or something like that :P

We now need a cross-reference list for the budgets of these movies o see what movies made the most profit.

I doubt the Wachowskis are going to be too upset about the marketing scheme. I'm just glad that the US didn't fall for the Revolutions hype the way the rest of the world did.

It's interesting to note that ROTK might be the only LOTR to be the biggest hit of its year. FOTR finished slightly behind Harry Potter in 2001, and Two Towers finished behind Spidey last year.

That makes me so happy on so many levels. Keira Knightley will rule the earth one day.

Also, Johnny Depp's decision to tuen down the role of Neo has been completely vindicated

Olympic hero's right, sorry about that............ Damnit! Why must everyone ignore Robert Englund! He's won 2 awards in his entire career ( One being a lifetime achievement) and the other? A fantafestival best actor award for The Mangler ( A movie that I heard was terrible, but lifted up due to Englund's performance) Why can't anyone give Freddy his due?!

( Insane ranting mode off)

You have to be shitting me about making one movie that made alot of money vindicating not being apart of one something that is greater than a movie. I loved Pirates of the Caribean, but the only reason it outgrossed Reloaded is because it was rated PG-13 and Reloaded was R rated. Pirates will not be important next year. The Matrix ,no matter how bad the last two may have been, is a pop culture phenomenon. With that said I would kill to see Depp play Neo. Damn that would have been incredible. That just pisses me off that he didn't take that part.

I just have to say it fucking rules that Will Ferrell starred in the movie with the best gross/budget ratio this year. Unless LotR hit the 410 mil mark, which could happen but I wouldn't bet on it.

First off, who cares about "pop culture" crap.

The Matrixsss will be remembered as movies that were the most disappointing sequals of all time. There was SO MUCH hype about them, how good they were going to be, and they came no where near that. They should have kept it as one movie, that's it.

Pirates will be remembered as the movie that had some of the best CGI in the past few years. It will the movie that Depp showed his great acting skills to everyone and shows he doesn't have to sell out to make it big. And it will known as one of the best movies of 2003.

5. LotR $232/$144 161%

Wrong, RoTK's budget was $94 million.

Bruce Almighty beat X2? Pffft...fuck that. The other four, I find acceptable. But fuckin' Bruce Almighty?! Ugh.

What? Bruce was a funny movie. I can sit through it again unlike X-2 which was unbearable during round 2.

I am agreeing with Yuna and that barely happens.

Bruce Almighty was nothing but an average movie. It was just a romantic comedy with a different twist. My friends and I went to see it thinking it would be something else than it was because in the trailers they didn't market it as a romantic comedy. I think they knew that the movie would have made less money if they marketed it as a romantic comedy. I really hate those things.

I think X2 was the best action movie of all time. I've seen it about 5 more times, and it is as good as it was the first time.

However, my expectations for X3 will be too high for it to top X2. I didn't like X-Men that much, so I went into X2 thinking it would be ok. Boy, was I wrong.

Funny? I didn't laugh once during it. Same goes for the shit known as Freaky Friday. As soon as I could, I put my earphones on during Freaky Friday, hoping to forget it exists. Mind you, this was just a week ago, so it wasn't in a theater, thankfully.

I am agreeing with Yuna and that barely happens.

Awww....thankies! *snuggleglomp* ^_^
