Guest Goodear Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Does it seem to anyone else of a rational bent that there seems to be way too many people seemingly obsessed with all things Randy Orton? Just look at the RAW thread for yesterday and it seems as though some folks can't go three posts without somehow mentioning just how much Randy 'killed the crowd' and blew a spot and BLAH BLAH BLAH. Seriously now, it seems as though some folks have some serious issues when they're watching a fantastic Triple H-Shawn Michaels match for 30 minutes and still blabbing on and on and on about Orton. Seriously where did all this 'interest' in the guy come from and why can't there be a single thread on the board that doesn't seem to revolve around just how much people hate the guy? I personally think RVD sucks a big monster donkey dick, but you don't here me talking about it all night long. It's like a stir of perpetual echos in here and its DULL. No, but they got a reaction where people cannot stop talking about him and continue to watch anyway where they then head into a message board and talk about the guy some more. It's like a stir of perpetual echos in here and its DULL. Nah, you only talk about him when there's a "Why WWE doesn't give a push to RVD" thread, which is almost all the time. And Randy is getting nothing more than X-pac backlash that's all.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Okay I do talk about RVD on a bi-daily basis... but I don't think about him while watching a ***-**** match which is where I was trying to go with the whole dealy.

I think it's evolved into a huge rib by the majority, to bait the few Orton fans that are here. Personally, I only talk about Orton when he is either: a) on my TV at the moment (or was just on); b) mentioned in a news story (e.g. the "Orton wins the Rumble" thread); c) defended in threads such as this one. The less I have the chance to talk about Orton, the happier I am.

Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted December 30, 2003 If you people aren't changing your channels and you keep on talking, then WWE has succeeded in exposing Randy Orton to there fanbase, which was the point of this whole supposed "monster push" that nobody can define yet he's definetly getting. Guest hhheld_down Report post Posted December 30, 2003 even though his matches suck, I am starting to like Orton as a character a little more, him calling himself the "hardcore legend" was a nice touch
Guest Goodear Report post Posted December 30, 2003 I'm saying that the fans in the crowd forgot about Orton as soon as he left the ring since the 'story' elements of the match all went towards Kane and Booker. Personally, I didn't take notice of any serious crowd deflation and especially didn't see any that required people to be talking about it during the Michaels-Triple H match. Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Oh and take note people, crowds have gotten flat during Jericho's offense many a time. When he's not real good fans generally aren't into a heels offense unless he has super flashy moves.

haVoc 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Never mind his push, Orton isn't good enough to have a cocky heel character. It's too hard to buy into him that way and it's the reason people could careless about him. He had hardly any heat during his match with Booker T last night. If Jericho was the one who punked out Foley and started calling himself the "Hardcore Legend" or "Legend Killer" most people could believe that and buy into his character and love to hate him. You just don't get that with Orton.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 30, 2003 and especially didn't see any that required people to be talking about it during the Michaels-Triple H match. People wanted to see if HBK could reverse the effect that started when Orton's music hit at the top of the hour.
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Oh this is one of those topics where we make up our points. Ok, um.....Orton was more over than HBK has ever been as a heel.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Really? Because I haven't gotten the impression that fans hate Jericho since ... well... ever. People simply want to cheer for the guy more than they want to boo him and that's why the majority of his heel feuds have been as flat as Stacy's chest. I'm guessing that Jericho does that sort of thing and the whole populace will have signs proclaiming it all to be true in a matter of one show. Routing for a heel to win all the time is a bad idea which is why I'm thrilled they're finally moving him back where he belongs.

I certainly remember heel HBK getting a reaction at some point. Could have been the time that he came down to shut a Randy Orton promo up, i'm sure the crowd reacted. Hell, send Brooklyn Brawler down in the middle of a Randy interview and the crowd will cheer.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 I am still not a fan of that "hardcore legend" thing... *shudders* Thinking about that makes me have Sandman-like ideas of what I would do to Randy Orton (as a character) if i ever met him
notJames 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Sometimes I feel embarassed for Orton, always having to walk to the ring without any kind of response from the crowd. MixxMaster 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Remember that BAD kind of heat, that "Get of My TV", "Get Out of the Ring" kind of heat?? It used to be called, "X-Pac Heat" SuckBag can't even get THAT kind of heat...he actually TAKES AWAY ANY reaction from a crowd, be it good or bad. He has NO talent He has NO charisma He has NO athletic ability he has NOTHING to offer Yet, he keeps getting pushed over and over and over, takes up more and more screen time, and the crowd couldn't care less...there's obviously a reason for all the anger and loathing over him. I also agree with others in that my HATRED for him won't stop until he's fired...

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Orton is taking up the slack for the Taker haters who lost their target to bash lol.. actually with orton there is some basis for the hate because he debut with neither the talent or charisma the WWE tried to promote him with. And he hasn't developed more beyond mic work. His Father never needed to be on the mic and they billed him properly. Orton however 3rd generation (Excluding Chavo of course as they always do) So there fore he must be the next Rock...even if he is no where near the rock status. It's hard to say give the kid time when the WWE shoves him down our throats...and then he gets injured.
