The NCAA 2004 Dynasty Thread

Recommended Posts

If you are starting low... start with say like a * team and get enough prestige and then you can move on to a higher team if you want.

Be a man.

Also.... get a running game going and the D will almost always bite on the Play Action.

Man, I must have a dirty team or something. I've injuried 4 QBs in 7 games so far this season.

6-1 after a 38-14 win at Ball St.

I've bitch slapped all of my opponents. Only 2 opponents out of 7 have been able to score a single point on me. I've beaten my opponents by an average of 60 points a game.

And I'm still ranked #2!

Oh well......the AP recognizes and has me at #1.

Damn Coaches and BCS.

That's because you are playing as OU. You're taking the easy way out.

I'm playing as OU now. To get used to it and to win early.

But then I'm taking a shitty team(like say Army) and going all the way.

Dama, what difficulty are you playing on because ive never beaten the computer by over 60 on heisman

I've never played the game before. So I put it on Junior Varsity so I could learn the game. I'll up the difficulty after I know what the hell I'm doing.

If you've played Madden, you've played NCAA.

Except... You can like, do more shit in NCAA than you can in Madden.

Speaking of NCAA, I need to rent the game again. I MUST KICK SOME OU ASS!!!

...sigh, it'll probably be like last time through, second place, but BCS puts me against #15 because my schedule is classified as easy, even though I've only had 1 defeat (against some #5 ranked team [think it was USC, somehow got them] though and I lost in Quad OT).

Oh god...I just set about 100,000 records.

8 sacks with one player.

A lot of QB passes

250 yards rushing and a bunch of TD's with my RB.

And I scored 105 points.

Well, this thread has inspired me to fire my 2003 edition back up and run a few more University of the Underground Ravers seasons, except I'm plopping them into the SEC East and taking Vanderbilt's place this year.

5-0 so far, with home victories over #3 Oklahoma (31-28, won by a field goal with :54 left) in the second game of the season and #22 South Carolina (55-14 after the score was 17-14 at the half) just now. I'm playing All-American difficulty and seven minute quarters. South Carolina played HARD the first half and was actually shutting down my running game (something OU never did), but FOUR turnovers in the fourth quarter in your own territory leads to bad things like the other team scoring 31 in the final five minutes.

Next up: A showdown with #7 Ohio State at Columbus.

Those all mean nothing with your difficulty level.

I can't play the game on any other difficulty yet! I just learned how to play the damn game!

If you're doing that well then jump up to the next level already ya pussy :P

A 38-28 victory at Ohio State puts me up to only #20 in the AP Poll. It was obvious the game didn't want me to win, due to my EIGHT turnovers. Kinda ironic that an interception returned 90 yards for a touchdown with a minute remaining is what put the nail in the coffin when Ohio State was only down by three.

Team: San Jose State Spartans

Prestige: *

Difficulty: Heisman

Playbook: Run N Gun

1st Season: 7-4 record thanks to the cupcakes on my schedule, but losing an overtime battle to Boise State and getting trounced by Fresno State, Hawaii and Virginia Tech (the team I selected to offset the cupcakes). No bowl game and ranked in around #50. Prestige goes up to **.

1st Off-Season Key Recruits:

- A pocket QB with great precision, but terrible scrambling skills.

- A fast as frick WR that's gone once he catches it.

- The MLB that kills RBs dead if he finds the gap.

2nd Season: 11-2 record with a loss to a Miami team hellbent on murder. My star QB goes down in the Miami game for the season with 5 weeks left, but thanks to my speed WR and great plays by my defense, I go undefeated in my division, gaining me a spot in the Fort Worth Bowl, but I lose to Purdue via 1st half blowout. Prestige goes up to ***.

2nd Season Off-Season Key Recruits:

- The #1 RB in the nation after four weeks worth of talks. Thankfully he just happened to be a California native and focusing on location and playing time reeled that bad boy in for the Spartans.

- Some decent O-liners to protect my QB.

- Two good defensive tackles to complement the 'Back Slayer at MLB.

3rd Season: 12-1 starting out the season right by upsetting last year's champions Oklahoma in the opening week with a last second field goal. That fuels the fire and we Run N Gun through the season and go to the Orange Bowl as the #1 seed. The #2 seed: Miami. Even with their starting RB out for the season and me killing a WR and defensive back during the game, I STILL job thanks to an ill-advised pass late in the fourth quarter deep in Hurricane territory, losing 14-20. SJSU finishes at #5 and prestige goes up to ****.

I just lost a BS game to #10 Georgia, dropping me down to #18 after being #16. So much for an undefeated season and a national championship game, unless everyone else melts down between now and then. I'll make a BCS game by winning the SEC (ideally), but this'll be my first non-title season in a while.

When I was down 21-14 and thought I'd have a tie game soon after scoring a touchdown, my kicker decided to have a brainfart and miss the PAT despite me kicking it the same way I always do. It was 21-20 for a long time (during this time I drove down the field again only to have the suck-ass kicker miss a field goal) until I was driving yet AGAIN, and this time was on the Georgia 6 when a BS interception was made in the endzone and Georgia scored on an 80 yard bomb on their very first play. 28-20, no problem, just drive down again with my juggernaut of a running attack (they kept falling for the draw and my QB got about 60 yards of rushing by himself) and score with a two point conversion. I get down to the Georgia 8 this time before ANOTHER BS interception and this one is run back to the 40 or so. Georgia scores on a running play where somehow their runner squirted out the other side of the pile at the line of scrimmage and ran for a massive 50 yard gain followed by a pass play for Georgia to score a touchdown and make it 35-20. I had about a minute remaining, so it was possible to still win. I even managed to hook up with my star receiver (who was neglected all game due to the 300+ yard rushing day my offense was having) for a touchdown with :25 remaining.

Georgia finally stops my running game when I need it most, and the two point conversion fails. 35-26, one timeout remaining, onside kick fails, game over.

Next up: an unranked 4-3 Florida State squad comes to visit the Ravers at home. I can take some aggression out on the hated Seminoles. Since Underground University is located in Orlando, this and my later Florida game are RIVALRY GAMES~!

:( I just don't get it. I really don't.

I've got a cupcake team in my created PAC-10 Canada Comets, but every single game I've been in it tight. My very last game was against Washington State (#18) and I only lost by 9 points.

What really gets me is that I've got like fabulous luck on defence. I mean, I had them PINNED in their own endzone for at least 10 minutes.

Think I could capitilize on the three chances I got to retaliate in their endzone? No.

Gr... I'm just happy my star, my HB is back. I so need him to help me.

Oh, and currently, I'm running the best run defense out there right now. FIGURE THAT ONE OUT!

Are you getting burned on big plays? I usually have a good defence and sometimes will not audible out of a blitz into zone coverage in time and get burned.

Hmm....well......I'm starting a new season on Varsity level.

I'm keeping the Sooners season around(i am in the national title game..gotta win that now) but I want to try something more challenging.

I want to build a team from the ground up. I can't decide between The Army Black Knights or Notre Dame.

Held #5 Florida to 138 total yards in a 31-7 victory. We're #9 heading into the final game of the season...

... against #8 Tennessee. The one reservation I had about joining the SEC East was having to beat my favorite team every year.

The SEC Championship appears to be me against #4 Arkansas, and the current BCS standings have me at #5 and in the Sugar Bowl against, um, Arkansas.

Well I won the National Title with OU pretty easily.

I've been playing this game for a while on easy and I've gotten better. So I think it's time I went to the next level.

I'm going to play on Varsity now. Now I must find a crappy team.....I guess I'll do Army....though there has to be crappier ones.

I started a dynasty for Cal... since they're getting no love for beating USC this year, I figured I might as well make them good.

I skipped through the first year in hopes to make them worse, mission accomplished, as Cal finished dead last at 0-12. Now.... this is where the real fun starts. Lousy recruiting class, and I aim to win the national title or at least the conference title.

Ok Army just plain sucks. I decided to go with an in-state shit team. So I picked the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. Mind you this is at a time when Tulsa wa 1-11 and sucked.

Sure they aren't the best team but at least they won more than they lost this season.

Hopefully I can do that.
