One and Only NFL Wild Card week Thread

Recommended Posts

I am looking forward to Dallas/Carolina. It's much more likely to be a competitve game. While I'll be rooting all the way for Seattle, my realistic half tells me it's going to be a slaughter for the Pack. The other games only hold my interest because they're the playoffs and I need Baltimore and Denver to win in KKK's contest.

TEN/BAL will be awesome -- too bad BAL will just be too much for TEN and McNair.

Baltimore is actually the favorite although Tennessee is the much better team on paper.

Of course, Tennessee has been the better paper team the past 5 times Baltimore has beaten them.

The one that really sticks out is 2000 when SI proclaimed Tennessee the best team in the NFL and then Baltimore beat them 24-10 in the Divisional Playoffs without scoring an offensive TD. Brian Billick used the magazine to motivate the Ravens.

What is gonna happen today?

I miss the Ravens Titans 2 games a year when they were AFC Central Rivals.

The Titans are the 30th ranked pass defense.

Just keep that in mind, especially since you'll definitely hear that they are the #1 ranked rush defense probably about 50 times before the game actually starts but Im curious as to how many times their pass defense is mentioned. Sterling Sharpe just said they blow on NFL Playbook (NFL Network).

The Ravens offense is lopsided (#1 Rush, 32nd Pass) but the defense is even (#6 rush, #4 Pass). If this becomes the defensive struggle that everyones been predicting it to be, just remember those figures.

If it's a defensive battle the Titans can't hope to win. Eddie George has to step up huge tonight if the Titans have a prayer of leaving Baltimore with a win. They also need to keep extra blockers to keep Lewis, Suggs and Boluware away from McNair.

I'm just going to have fun watching the AFC teams beat themselves up before one of them has to come to The Razor.

But Baltimore can't pass worth crap to be blunt. All they need to do is stop Jamal. Remember, they held Deuce McAllister to 8 total yards and Stephen Davis to 20, which was the first game Davis was under 120.

Baltimore can pass when they have to. Enough that Tennessee will have trouble stopping them and have to play honest defense.

you still have 30min, call up your cable provider and complain

I get ABC/CBS over the air with an antenna.

But as luck would have it, on the big satellite theres a feed of it so Im happy for now.

Its almost a blessing in disguise because the satellite picture of ABC is a bit clearer than the OTA picture of ABC that I get with my antenna. But I would have never hooked up the Big Satellite for the game unless something like this (I usually only hook it up for Smackdown feeds on Wednesday night).

Satellite blows, Digital Cable is better

Its only good if you live in an area that can get cable, which I sadly don't.

and I think I've heard more talk about the Titans (specifically Steve McNair) than I have any other team in the playoffs this weekend.

The game hasn't even started and they already have their heads buried up McNair's ass.
