Irish Car Bomb......(the drink)

Since the food and shopping forum is gone, I guess this is the right place to put this........

 

So anyways, I want to make an irish car bomb drink and I have heard about 3 different ways to make it:

 

All three ways start with a glass of guiness: After that, one says drop a shot of Jamesons into the guiness and top off the BEER with irish cream.

 

The other way is similar except it says that the shot itself is supposed to be half Jamesons, and half irish cream and then you drop it in the guiness.....

 

the third way again is very similar except this time it is a shot of Jamesons just barely topped off with a tad of irish creme rather then 1/2 & 1/2 mix.........

 

So for those that have had this drink at a bar or prepared it yourself. How do you make and what is the STANDARD way to make this drink? Thanks

This is the one I have seen the most. Although I have experienced those who just skipped the Irish cream altogether.

That's it. I did some bartending back in college.

That's the only way I've ever seen a Car Bomb made.

I found out the problem. I ordered one at a bar, and I didn't realize that the drink is more of a "shooter" drink rather then a boilermaker type drink. I didn't know you weren't supposed to use the entire can/bottle of guiness.

Damn. What bartender was using a whole pint of Guinness?

Oh I've seen that, and had to chug the whole thing to avoid ridicule from my friends, lol. Sucks, because Guiness is like goddamn syrup.

The bartender wasn't. I WAS. Because I never knew exactly how it was prepared. So I would just pour the 12oz beer in a glass and add the rest in a shot. Now I know since the bartender made it right, so I can enjoy this great drink at home. The good thing too is now you get 2 Irish Car Bombs out of 1 can of guiness.

Welllll....

 

The way I have taken it is by filling a half-pint of Guinness, then have the shot filled with Bailey's then add a pinch of Jamenson.

 

When I had it for the first time, I forgot what it was and I was like, uh-oh, I don't like Guinness. However, you can't even taste it when your chuggin it.

 

So the third way seems correct.
