Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 7, 2004 The really stupid thing about the non-title stuff is he hasn't lost a match since winning it. Why not make it a title match if he's going to win anyway. I always thought the point of non-title was for a wouldbe contender to beat the champ.

Face it, you hooked your wagon to a goofy idiot. He's awful in serious roles and keeps coming back with a smaller and smaller twig of a vertibrae keeping his head attached. He's the other side of the 'Guy thats sees wrestling purely as a business' coin. I'd feel sorry for him.. but hey, its not my fault Kurt's a dimwit.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 So, Angle came back and risks his health and is inserted in this mind numbingly awful Eddie/Chavo feud FOR NO REASON? ::Smashes face into wall:: No one here can give a legit reason why the Angle character would get involved in any of this. I surmised that they're turning Angle heel by taking one of the bad aspects some people see in America and applying it to him, that being a mediator/peacekeeper, sometimes being where he isn't wanted. Though I'm certain WWE won't say it quite like that, necessarily. Keep in mind it's really just another spin on his Mr. USA character and past cockiness. After Eddie is done with Chavo, he'll come after Kurt saying that he stuck his nose in where it didn't belong, and that Kurt isn't always right. Kurt will respond by saying that he always knows what's right, because he's an American, so on and so forth. Of course the announcers will bring it up that Eddie is American, but it falls on Angle's deaf ears. Eddie proposes a match, wins, perhaps by cheating, which Angle takes exception to and regains a slight mean streak, beating Eddie down one of the weeks after. This keeps up, as Angle becomes increasingly overconfident... Before the WWE ruins it all by having it degenerate into a comedy feud.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 Pfft. Patrick, that's just gratuitious. Bashing the WWE and promoting an alternative at the same time? Have some self respect man... Fight Card Light Heavyweight Championship Randy Couture v Vitor Belfort The Big Rematch from UFC 15 where Randy Couture shocked the world by beating someone who was thought to be unbeatable. Now, 6+ years later Couture is shocking the world all over again after beating 2 of the top fighters in the Light heavyweight Division including #1 Contender Chuck Liddell and Champion Tito Ortiz. This time, it is up to Vitor Belfort to rise to the challenge and beat the unbeatable. Welterweight Championship Matt Hughes v BJ Penn Dominant. In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, there is perhaps no one more dominant in his division than Matt Hughes. Beating challenger after challenger after challenger Hughes has been building a reputation as being unstoppable. Can BJ Penn, the prodigy from the lightweight division, step up and put down the welterweight champion? We shall see... Heavyweight Frank Mir VS Wes Sims The Big Rematch from UFC 43, and they don't get much bigger than Wes "The Project" Sims. Standing 6'9, the giant out of the hammer house imtimidates all those who stand across from him - however, one man dared to defy which made the big monster mad. After getting himself disqualified by a blatant stomping, Sims has been regarded as a bully; and his opponent, Frank Mir, is seen as a proverbial giant killer. At UFC 46 we shall see who the true warrior is... Middleweight Jorge Rivera VS Lee Murray Jorge Rivera raised many eyebrows after defeating heavily favourite David "The Crow" Loiseux at UFC 44. Here we shall see if he can continue his success in the octagon and be the rising star many are saying he is. Welterweight Carlos Newton VS Renato Verissimo A veteran of the Octagon and former Welterweight champion, Carlos Newton is without doubt the most entertaining fighter to watch. His smooth ground work and takedowns along with a nearly unbreakable chin makes him a fan favourite. If there's one guarantee on this night, it is that Carlos Newton will deliver a great show. Karo Parisyan VS Georges ST. Pierre If Carlos Newton is the most fun to watch, these two men are definitely in the top 10. Karo Parisyan impressed a lot of people by not only submitting Dave Strassler at UFC 43, but doing so by using his highly regarded judo skills. Here he will be taking on the Canadian "Rush", George St. Pierre; a fighter who defeated Pete Spratt soundly at the last TKO show. Believe me when I say that this could very well be the fight of the year. Lightweight Matt Serra VS Gerald Strebendt Hemes Franca VS Josh Thompson Matt Serra made a name for himself in his fight against Shonie Carter in a match that will go down as one of the greatest in UFC history. Gerald Strebent is a submission specialist, which should be right up Serra's alley. Josh Thompson is undefeated in MMA competition and his striking skills are considered among the best in the division. He is fighting Hermes Franca, also undefeated, who is a BJJ expert with KO power. These 4 matches could very well determine the future of an open Lightweight Division.

Dude, I haven't the slightest idea what you could be talking about. Just because I'm looking forward to GCW's first show of the year(this Friday night at 8 PM, doors open at 7, at Aggies' on South Broadway in St. Louis, featuring Diamond Back Dingo vs. Slim Sexy Sean Vincent in an Aussie Death Match) and I mention it from time to time(like the TV taping Saturday night at 7:30, also at Aggies', admission is free so come and get your mug on local-access TV or something) doesn't make me a gratuitous shill. -Patrick http://www.gatewaywrestling.com/ http://members.aol.com/PowerPB13/gcwpics.htm Balls Mahoney vs. D'Mon G, October 2002
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 No, of course not, being a shill would be saying that UFC 46 will be SATURDAY, JANUARY 31st at 10:00 PM and will feature the excitement and drama you want from the WWE but just don't get. It's cheaper than WWE PPV's and with a line-up like the one that "Supernatural" has, it's guaranteed to be a great show.
Guest PowerPB13 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 And if I were REALLY blatantly shilling, I'd mention that we'll also see a lucha libre-style six-man tag match(participants TBA) and that we should also hear about the status of the Light Heavyweight Title(which was handed over to Commissioner Keith Smith last month by GCW Heavyweight Champion Nikki Strychnine, who held both belts at the time). But I'm not that kind of person. -Patrick http://www.gatewaywrestling.com/ http://members.aol.com/PowerPB13/gcwpics.htm

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Me, I'm for an Eddie vs. Angle feud. Infact, I wanted this feud back in the Summer/Fall period when Eddie still had momentum on his side. Angle is the only guy who can effectively elevate Eddie up to a Main Event position (that is, to fight in the main event, not to become a Main Eventer). Big Show can't, Benoit can't, Brock is the champ so he's the guy Eddie would be challenging - so that leaves Kurt. But jesus christ, could they book a feud between Kurt and Eddie any worse???
