kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 When did he become a hot coaching property? Funny thing: I was watching a certain cable news show that's on from 7-8 p.m. when the show's host said right at the end of his broadcast that the Falcons hired "Mora." Until I came on-line I thought they were talking about pops. Thanks for the faux news report, Shep... And what's all this talk about black head coaches sprouting up in the NFL, and then having a team turn around and hiring some cracka? It's The Man at work again... The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 This is the dumbest hire of the year. I considered Atlanta to be the best of the 7 job openings...and they picked a guy who isn't qualified for the job. The NINERS Defensive coordinator? Please. What would they have lost by: A: Trying to interview Saban like they were reportedly trying to do B: Waiting for the Rams and Patriots to finish the season to get Smith or Crennel The dumbest part is...their interim coach Wade Phillips is a better D coordinator who has coaching experience. They actually downgraded for no reason.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 I heard Chicago was the leading candidate for the Nick Saban NFL lottery but I doubt he would go to the NFL, especially after all his talking about improving LSU next year.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Lovie Smith or Romeo Crennel would have been far better choices. Hell, Jim Fassel or Dave McGinnis would have been far better choices. Besides, I thought Lovie and the new Atlanta GM were buddy buddy...
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Thank fuck. Hope you Atlanta fans enjoy Mora Jr's shitty playcalling. He won't be missed.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 I heard he wants to just be called Jim Mora. Someone needs to ask him about the Falcons chances at the playoffs next year.. "Playoffs? Playoffs?!!" or how about after a bad loss.. "We threw that game. We gave that game away. We gave 'em the frigging game. In my opinion, that sucked." Then I think he can drop the Jr. Until he learns the art of the good soundbite, he needs to keep the Jr.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 Bump. Crap, I'm turning into Rant. My hair is turning red and I have a "Keep Our Earth Green" bumper sticker. Well, my crow isn't too bad, but it needs a bit more salt...
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 Eh, I still don't think he's a good coach, it's not like they draw up plays that have Vick just breaking the play and running around and stuff. Vick is the reason this team turned around, not the coach, although we can't be sure.
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 It's actually just Jim Mora by the way. His dad is also Jim Mora, but he is not a junior.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 I think the improvement of the defense has just as much to do with Vick, because without it, and with Vick's pedestrian passing numbers, the Falcons wouldn't even be sniffing the playoffs. Ok, with how bad the NFC was this year, that might not be true, but you get my point.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 The Falcons would probably be the 6th or 7th best team in the AFC.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 It's actually just Jim Mora by the way. His dad is also Jim Mora, but he is not a junior. Wow, he dropped that pretty quickly. He was still a Jr. last year when he was the Niners defensive cord.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 19, 2005 The Falcons would probably be the 6th or 7th best team in the AFC. Beneath whom, Mr Pennington? I'd take the Falcons over the Jets and Broncos. Maybe even the Colts.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2005 The Falcons would probably be the 6th or 7th best team in the AFC. Beneath whom, Mr Pennington? I'd take the Falcons over the Jets and Broncos. Maybe even the Colts. I wouldn't. I'd take them over the Broncos, not the Colts or Jets. Really, the only real advantage they have on the Jets is the running game, and it isn't by much. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 20, 2005 Especially considering the Jets by all accounts should have beaten the #1 seed in the AFC so they could get worked in the AFC Championship game instead of the Steelers.
