EdwardKnoxII Posted January 14, 2004 Author Report Posted January 14, 2004 So, if true, he won't get to face Brock, which would be the logical storyline. Additionally, he'll go to Raw to be fed to HHH. Maybe he'll get a token title run first (but end up jobbing it back to HHH). Boy, that's gonna make for some good times around here. And there really isn't anyway that they can have Benoit go to RAW and not make him look bad or like a coward for leaving SD and not trying to get a shot with Brock.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 We should just give up on this. I see nothing positive happening anytime soon.

You could have Heyman sign over his contract to Bischoff, leaving Benoit w/ no other choice but to go to Raw. It's not the perfect solution, but it wouldn't have Benoit leaving & looking like a pussy, and it makes him a sympathetic face when he shows up on Raw. It still leaves the Benoit/Lesnar situation unresolved, but it at least doesn't make it look like Benoit is running from him.
EdwardKnoxII Posted January 14, 2004 Author Report Posted January 14, 2004 Eh, true but, it would still be shitty but, what can you do?
Jobber of the Week Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Nonononononono. If I don't get Benoit at No Way Out then there's going to be shit hitting the fan. THE BAY AREA DESERVES A DECENT BENOIT MATCH, DAMNIT. Last time we just got him and Guererro double-teaming Flair.
Vyce Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The more I think about this, the more I think it will mirror the Tenzan situation going on in New Japan. Benoit is involved in a long hunt for a world title, he finally gets it (with, strangely, a win over not Brock but Trips), but then loses it immediately to a young upstart favored by management (i.e. RANDY ORTON), thus making his months of build up for the title ultimately worthless.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 They have 3 real possibilities here, assuming Benoit wins: 1. RAW and Smackdown have a trade, Benoit for Goldberg. 2. Heyman simply fires Benoit from Smackdown after Rumble so he doesn't get the title shot. 3. Benoit chooses to go to RAW, saying that RAW Title is the real belt or something to that extent.
