JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Thanks for the answers ahead of time. You guys rock. 1) Who was Techno Team 2000? 2) When Savio Vega replaced an "injured" Razor Ramon at KOTR 95, was this just an angle, or was Hall actually banged up? He ended up taking some bumps in the show anyways. 3) Any reason why Hakushi never got a bigger push? 4) This question doesn't specifically refer to 1995, but when the WWF would do long TV tapings that would include dark matches plus 4 weeks of shows, often adding up to 25-30 matches, how long would these shows run, and would the fans actually cheer the whole time, or did the WWF have to dub noise in? 5) Razor Ramon beat Jeff Jarrett in a house show ladder match in May, and lost the title back 2 days later - any reason for this, or just to try and show that anything could happen at the house shows? 6) Why did Jeff Jarrett leave the WWF right after the July IYH, return in December, and then leave again after that? 7) Chris Benoit worked dark matches for the WWF in 1995 and didn't get a job, yet they had friggin' Mantaur on the roster??? 8) Was Luger leaving the WWF after Summerslam 95 a surprise, and was it a reason behind the big push Bulldog got afterwards? 9) What did Ahmed Johnson do before coming to the WWF? 10) What happened to Barry Horowitz after his Summerslam 95 win? 11) Why was Vince pissed at Nash after the 10/95 IYH PPV? 12) What was the "RAW Bowl" match, and was it any good? MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 8) Was Luger leaving the WWF after Summerslam 95 a surprise, and was it a reason behind the big push Bulldog got afterwards? I think Vince MIGHT have been showing Luger the push he would have gotten through the Bulldog. 10) What happened to Barry Horowitz after his Summerslam 95 win? Basically, he was paired with Hakushi and tried to "Americanize" him. They were both jobbed out for the most part. Kinda sad really considering the pop Horowitz was getting and the underdog story they had behind him. I mean Horowitz was jobbing for YEARS and they only give him a couple lousy wins as a payoff. He was skilled enough to hold his own in a match which made it all the more depressing. I was a huge Hakushi mark, but never understood why he was put over 1-2-3 Kid at SummerSlam 1995. He turned face later that night and proceeded to do zilch-O afterwards. Well, he did defeat Rad Radford. 11) Why was Vince pissed at Nash after the 10/95 IYH PPV? His match vs. Bulldog was BORING. 12) What was the "RAW Bowl" match, and was it any good? It was basically a 4-Way elimination match between the Gunns, Kid/Sid, Razor/Savio, and Owen/Yoko. They all dressed up in football uniforms and made the mat out to tlook like a football field. The match was pretty good IIRC. I believe the Gunns won. Papacita 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 6) Why did Jeff Jarrett leave the WWF right after the July IYH, return in December, and then leave again after that? I'm not really sure, but I remember hearing about some sort of contract dispute with Jeff around this time. 9) What did Ahmed Johnson do before coming to the WWF? He used to wrestle in the indys as Moadib (I think), and there were a couple of articles in Raw magazine saying that he was/is a member of the Bloods street gang. I also remember WWF circulating some story about him being a former Dallas Cowboy, but I've never heard anything to verify this.

I never went to one, but you can imagine just how long it would be. Dave Meltzer has mentioned on numerous occasions that it was torture going to those shows. I would bet 4-5 hours, and yes, they did dub noise in. 7) Chris Benoit worked dark matches for the WWF in 1995 and didn't get a job, yet they had friggin' Mantaur on the roster??? Well, there isn't really any other explanation for it then what you think. In my opinion, I'm glad that Beniot didn't get signed in 1995. He easily could have become Avatar or Aldo Montoya or some other form of wrestlecrap. Instead, we got to see him for five years in WCW before making the transition. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 2) When Savio Vega replaced an "injured" Razor Ramon at KOTR 95, was this just an angle, or was Hall actually banged up? He ended up taking some bumps in the show anyways. WWF IC Champion Jeff Jarrett defeated Razor Ramon in a ladder match (16 days before KOTR); Razor suffered injured ribs during this match, eventually taking him out of the KOTR tournament Credit: Cawthon's Webpage 3) Any reason why Hakushi never got a bigger push? I guess he was too good to get pushed. Either that or "they didn't have anything for him" 11) Why was Vince pissed at Nash after the 10/95 IYH PPV? Bulldog couldn't carry Nash to a good match and therefore the match sucked.
Guest Fook Report post Posted January 11, 2004 7) Chris Benoit worked dark matches for the WWF in 1995 and didn't get a job, yet they had friggin' Mantaur on the roster??? IIRC, he competed in a few dark matches with Ted Dibiase as his manager to see how well they gelled together. If he was hired, he probably would have been placed in Dibiase's Corporation stable and gone absolutely nowhere.

I went to one of these the Wednesday after WM XI. They did some Action Zone matches and then about three eps of Wresting Challenge. I remember they screwed up the finish of a 123 Kid match and did the SAME match again later on. After the tapings, they went ahead with the advertised dark matches. It was pretty cool because it was in the Lowell Auditorium in Lowell, MA. This was where they had Thursday Raw Thursday. I always thought it was a great wrestling venue. I wish they'd go back to places like this and the Manhattan Center because when you hold TV at large venues, it devalues the PPVs. Ramon won the belt in some one horse town in northern Quebec. It was probably just to give them something to get excited about.

I believe it was done as a favour to the Rougeaus and to do something special for the fans in Quebec which was a longtime WWF market.

I think I remember that taping on television . . . well, actually I only remember seeing Dink/Wink vs. Cheezy/Sleazy on Action Zone and JR trying to call it and sound credible at the same time. Didin't help that Petingill was yelling at him the whole time. Plus, there was Bret/Razor vs. JJ/Hakushi as a CV Exclusive (Super Slams).
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 6) Why did Jeff Jarrett leave the WWF right after the July IYH, return in December, and then leave again after that? The reason that I've heard enough times to regard it as somewhat credible was that Jarrett was angry with the WWF for portraying him as someone who couldn't sing (the whole lip synching issue with the Road Dogg and "With my Baby Tonight"). Road Dogg left at the same time and didn't come back until fall 1996. I'm guessing both of their contracts were up and neither was happy with the plans the WWF had for them (ie a match at Summer Slam for one).

What about IYH: Unforgiven?

The Gunns won, and recieved the "Lombardi Trophy" for their victory. It was however the STEVE Lombardi trophy, presented by the Brawler himself. Billy and Bart destroyed the trophy and the Brawler.
