November 5th, 1988: Bushwacker Butch sustained a probable Broken Hand during a match versus the Fabulous Rougeaus on November 4th for a Superstars taping in Ft. Wayne. IN. He is likely to return to action in Two Months time. For now, his partner, Bushwacker Luke, will be teaming with Scott Casey to fulfill the Bushwackers obligations.

WWF SUPERSTARS OF WRESTLING!

NOVEMBER 5TH, 1988 TAPED ON OCTOBER 4TH, 1988 IN FT. WAYNE, IN .

COMMENTATORS: VINCE MCMAHON & JESSE "THE BODY" VENTURA

- Opening Contest:

Twin Towers (w/ Slick) vs. Tim Horner & Reno Riggins:

(Akeem & Big Boss Man)

Akeem and Horner start the match, with Akeem dominating his opponent with blows to the back. Akeem with a scoop slam and he stomps away on Horner. Akeem throws him across the ring into his corner and Riggins tags in to test his chances. Riggins hammers away weakly on Akeem, avoiding several clotheslines. Riggin tries a headlock, but Akeem back suplex him down. Boss Man tags into the match to serve Riggins some "Hard Time" and pounds away at him in the corner. Snapmare by Boss Man and he applies a reverse chinlock in his corner. Akeem comes in the ring illegally and the two men dish out some double clubbing shots followed by a double clothesline. Boss Man scoops up Riggins and plants him in the center of the ring with a back breaker. Boss Man whips Riggins to the ropes and plants him with the Side-walk Slam. Akeem tags in, bouncing off the ropes and squashes Riggins with a Big Splash for the 1...2...3. (2:37) *1/2 Decent squash match, mainly because I'm a Towers mark. The short matches gives it a chance to be action packed, or not slow at times.

- We head to the Live Event Center with our host as usual, Sean Mooney. Hard pimping time for an upcoming event at the Philadelphia Spectrum on November 12th, 1988, featuring in the Main Event, Hulk Hogan taking on the Big Boss Man. The Hart Foundation will battle with the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers in tag team action, and Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior defends his crown against the man he took it from, the Honky Tonk Man. Also we'll see Dino Bravo face Jim Duggan, The Brain Busters battle with the Young Stallions, the Blue Blazer going 1-on-1 with Danny Davis, and Akeem taking on Special Delivery Jones. Be there live with the WWF on November 12th, 1988 at 7:00 P.M.

- Non-Title Singles Match:

The Ultimate Warrior (IC Champion) vs. Conquistador #2:

Conquistador sneak attacks Warrior before the bell with a series of rights to the lower back. Warrior no sells them and clothesline the Conquistador out of the ring. Warrior follows him out to bring him back in and puts him down several times with roundhouse rights that miss by a mile it seems. Warrior runs the ropes, connecting with a series of clotheslines, followed by a diving shoulder tackle! Warrior scoops up the Conquistador for a Gorilla Press Slam and quickly puts him away with the Splash for 1...2...3. (1:14) 1/2* Because it wasn't totally bad.

- "Special Delivery" Jones vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart):

Jones avoids being attacked from behind and hammers away on the Hammer in the corner. Valentine reverses an Irish whip to the buckle but eats boot on the charge in. Jones hammers away on Valentine with lefts and rights, but he falls victim to a thumb to the eye, allowing Valentine to take a breather. Atomic knee drop by Valentine and he quickly cover for a two count. Valentine stomps away at the left knee of Jones and tries hyper-extending the ligaments. Jones blocks a Figure-Four attempt by booting Valentine into the corner, causing him to ram his shoulder into the ring post. Both men are down for a seven count until Jones makes the cover for barely a two count. Jones whips Valentine to the ropes and follows up with a clothesline for another quick two count. Jones bounces off the ropes, only for Valentine to catch him and drop Jones neck first across the top rope. Valentine turns his shin-guard around (the Hart Breaker) and successfully applies the Figure-Four Leglock for a quick Submission Victory. (3:02) **1/2 Pretty decent contest for the short amount of time. Jones was allowed in some offense but not a lot to make Valentine look like a schmuck.

- Superstars of Wrestling Feature Match:

Tito Santana vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan):

At the Survivor Series niether man will be on opposing teams, so this will have no effect on their respected matches, too be announced later in the broadcast. Both men trade a series of rights to start until Rude applies a standing side headlock. Santana whips Rude to the ropes and is put down with a shoulder block. Rude poses to the crowd to a chorus of boos while Santana looks on. Another lockup and now Santana with a side headlock. Irish whip and Santana ducks a clothesline, bouncing off the ropes, and nailing the Flying Forearm! Rude is sent outside the ring on the momentum where Heenan comes over to consult him. Rude stalls for a moment outside the ring and back in they lockup. Rude with a headlock, and Santana reverses it with a back suplex for two! Santana scoops up Rude for a slam, but misses a follow up elbow drop. Rude stomps away on the fallen Santana and applies a reverse chinlock in the center of the ring. Santana attempts fighting out with a series of elbows to the midsection of Rude, but a hair-pull puts Santana back on the canvas. Santana fades, but is able to stay concious and ty fighting back up. Irish whip by Santana, and a double clothesline puts both men down. Santana crawls over for the cover for a two count. Santana with a series of mounted punches in the corner and he whips Rude across the ring and nails a clothesline. Irish whip and Santana scores with a dropkick to the face for two. Santana with a series of scoop slams and he heads to the top rope. Santana with a flying cross body press for a two count! Santana signals for the end, but Heenan trips him up near the ropes. Santana tries attacking Heenan but Rude plants a knee to the back of Santana and scores with the Rude Awakening for 1...2...3, picking up the win. (7:25) ***1/4 Very good for a Superstars feature match, but the rest-hold in the middle of the match slowed it down a tad too bit for my liking. Martel comes out to protect Santana from a further beating as Rude and Heenan celebrate outside the ring.

- It is now time for the Survivor Series Report with everyones favorite broadcaster Mean Gene Okerlund. The Survivor Series is less than three weeks away, eminating from the Richfield Coliseum from Richfield, OH. The Card is Subject to Change in case of Injuries, Terminations, or other means of inactivity.

- Jim Powers vs. Mr. Perfect:

Perfect attacks Powers in the corner at the sound of the bell and unleashes a fury of right. Perfect with a series of knife-edge chops in the corner and he whips Powers to the corner. Powers catches Perfect with a big boot and clothesline, forcing him to over-sell dramatically. Powers with a float over vertical suplex gets two. Reverse Chinlock by Powers only lasts a moment as Perfect elbows him to the midsection and snap mares him into the middle of the ring. Perfect with the float over neck snap and he covers for two. Perfect scoops Powers up for a snap suplex. Perfect whips Powers to the ropes and connects with a running dropkick. Irish whip is reversed and Powers tries a back body drop, but Perfect capitalizes on the opprotunity and locks in the Perfect-Plex for the 1...2...3. (3:42) After the match Perfect tosses Powers out of the ring and poses to boos. *** Another really good match considering the lack of time, but it was non-stop action for the entire four minutes.

Spot rakes the eyes and applies an armbar, but Warrior with a clothesline puts him on the canvas again. Warrior pummels on Spot in the corner and whips him to the ropes, connecting with a shoulder block. Warrior bounces off the ropes, connecting with a diving shoulder tackle. Haku scoops up Casey and connects with a series of headbutts. Haku applies the Tongan Death Grip and that gets the submission victory. (2:38) ** Decent enough, but it's HAKU, so it's not ever going to be anything great.

- Same segment from Superstars of Wrestling as we head to the Live Event Center with our host as usual, Sean Mooney. Hard pimping time for an upcoming event at the Philadelphia Spectrum on November 12th, 1988, featuring in the Main Event, Hulk Hogan taking on the Big Boss Man. - "Red Rooster" Terry Taylor vs. Steve Lombardi:

Taylor attacks Lombardi to start the match in the corner and connects with a series of knife-edge chops. Rooster with a scoop slam and he knee drops the leg of Lombardi. Crowd is completely deflated as Rooster applies a reverse chinlock. Lombardi fights back with a series of rights and a slam, but misses an elbow drop, allowing the Rooster to drop a knee across the throat of Lombardi. Rooster connects with a snap suplex and works on the leg of Lombardi again. Rooster with an Irish whip, but Lombardi reverses and nails a clothesline. Lombardi with an irish whip, but Rooster catches him with a DDT for the 1...2..3 (4:24) DUD Crappy-ass Match, and it showed. Match couldn't care less for either man in the match. (Side Note: How sad this was a REAL feud in 1989)

- Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "Iron" Mike Sharpe:

Sharpe stalls to begin the match but falls victim to a series of Roberts jabs. Roberts with an armbar followed by a series of shoulder blocks. Drop toe hold by Roberts and he applies a hammerlock. Roberts whips Sharpe across the ring and puts him down with a big roundhouse right. Roberts with an armbar. Irish whip and Roberts connects with the short-arm clothesline! Roberts signals for the end, scoops Sharpe off of the canvas and plants him right back down with a vicious DDT! 1...2...3, it's over! (5:13) **3/4 Pretty good for a squash match as Roberts didn't completely kill his opponent, but didn't look weak in the process.

Blazer tries fighting free but Zhukov slams him back down and reapplies the hold. WWF PRIMETIME WRESTLING!!

NOVEMBER 7TH, 1988, TAPED FROM DIFFERENT LOCATIONS

COMENTATORS: SEAN MOONEY & BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN

- Sam Houston vs. "Dangerous" Danny Davis:

This is going to be boring. Both men slug it out to start with Houston gaining the upperhand. They lockup and Houston with a standing side headlock followed by a shoulder block. Houston slams Davis and covers him for a quick two count. Houston whips Davis to the ropes, missing a clothesline and Davis rakes the eyes. Davis whips Houston to the corner and hammers away at him weakly. Snapmare by Davis and he kicks Houston in the back. Davis slaps on a reverse chinlock...and this lasts a while. (Goes to make a sandwich and takes a crap) The hold is STILL applied and the crowd is dead. Houston fights free but gets kicked in the midsection and Davis applies an abdominal stretch. Davis uses the ropes for leverage, even though I don't see how it would help. Houston reverses the hold but is hip tossed off mighty fast. Davis with more weak blows and a whip to the corner. Houston catches Davis with a big boot on a charge to the corner and nails a second rope bulldog for two. Houston slams Davis in the middle of the ring and heads to the top rope. Davis stumbles around and Houston connects with as flying cross body press for the 1...2...3!!! (7:24) 1/2* Boring match, but I'll be generous and avoid giving out a DUD.

- "Jumping" Jim Brunzell vs. Bad News Brown:

They start the match with a lockup and Brown with a knee lift to the midsection. Double axe-handle smashes to the back of Brunzell and he tosses him to the outside. Bad News follows with a series of blows to the midsection and a slam. Brunzell gets back on the apron and drives a shoulder into the midsection of Brown and sunset flips back into the ring for a two count. Brunzell ducks a clothesline and connects with a beautiful standing dropkick for two. Brunzell with a side headlock and he turns it into a hammerlock. Brown tries reversing but Brunzell keeps the hold applied and takes Brown to the canvas. Brunzell bounces off the ropes but runs into a nasty clothesline, allowing Brown a breather period. Delayed vertical suplex by Brown and he chokes Brunzell. Irish whip by Brown and he catches Brunzell with a powerslam for two. Reverse chinlock by Brown lasts a moment as Brunzell breaks it by ramming Browns face into the top turnbuckle. Brunzell goes to the second rope and nails a clothesline for two. Irish whip by Brunzell and he stupidly tries a back drop, allowing Brown to kick him in the mouth. Brown shoves Brunzell into the corner chest first and connects with the Ghetto Blaster!! 1...2...3!! (6:12) ** After the match Brown hammers away on Brunzell some more until B. Brian Blair comes out for the save, sending Brown off with a clothesline through the ropes.

Blazer flips over the head of Zhukov, bounces off the ropes and nails a spinning heel kick for another two count. Blazer with a series of elbows to the back of Zhukov and he slams him in the center of the ring. Blazer goes to the top rope for an elbow drop, but Volkoff distracts him from ring-side, allowing Zhukov to slam him off into the ring. Zhukov pounds away on Blazer with clubbing forearms to the back of the neck and scoops him up with a back breaker. Zhukov continues hammering away on the Blazer and applies a reverse chinlock. Blazer tries fighting free but Zhukov slams him back down and reapplies the hold. Blazer fights up again and drives a series of elbows in the midsection and connects with an enziguri to the back of the head, putting both men down on the canvas. Demolition (Tag Team Champions) & "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan vs. Andre The Giant, "The Natural" Butch Reed, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff:

A Pier-Six brawl errupts before the match with Demolition brawling with Reed & Orndorff, and Duggan going at it with Andre. Before I get to the next edition, yes, I'm trying to do my best in making ther matches sound like they actually done with these people (i.e Koko won't be slamming Andre and Akeem isn't doing moonsaultS) and trying to sound like Scott Keith (since hes my reviewer) the best I can without trying to sound like a bitter asshole.

Push Bad News damnit, dude was a legit bad ass which would've made for a fun title reign of watching him beating the piss out of any and all challengers and then waiting to see who could finally topple him. I usually push him to the IC Title instantly in my game and have him feud with a face Roddy Piper

Whoo! Bad News is champ! Good call.

And now it's time for Warrior to be jobbed out for throwing a hissy fit for jobbing to Brown and being unprofessional. The Bastard.
