AboveAverage484 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Like I said in the title, there is still three weeks until the Pride card so expect all or some of these matches to change in that time. Still... From fightsport.com Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Fedor Emelianenko Wanderlei Silva vs. Yuki Kondo Murilo Bustamante vs. Hiromitsu Kanehara Ricardo Arona vs. Sanae Kikuta Assuerio Silva vs. Hirotaka Yokoi Anderson Silva vs. Yuki Sasaki Rodrigo Gracie vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Shungo Oyama
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Is Shungo Oyama the brother of trainer Colin Oyama? Or have I confused names and it is the trainer Shungo Oyama? Oyveh.
the pinjockey Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 The PPV premiere of this event is going to be Feb. 8th. Good idea on the cable companies' part to not schedule a PPV on Super Bowl Sunday.
Lei Tong Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Shungo Oyama (the fighter) is of no relation to Colin Oyama (the trainer), although I heard once he was the bastard grandchild of Mas Oyama ( no idea if there's any truth to that).
the pinjockey Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Which is the better card, this or the UFC event coming up? Still new at this and don't have the funds to be getting everything.
Lei Tong Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 This one. The UFC might end up offering more excitement per fight (there's some possible snooze-fests here), but for sheer name value, I'd say PRIDE. however, it's important to note that PRIDE absoultely SUCKS at finalizing cards, so I expect at least half these match-ups not happen.
RavishingRickRudo Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Right now I'd go for the UFC card.. simply because PRIDE's will probably change a dozen times.
