Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 FOZZY To Begin Recording In February - Jan. 13, 2004 FOZZY, the band featuring vocalist Chris Jericho (of WWE wrestling fame) and former members of STUCK MOJO, will enter the studio on February 17 to begin recording their third album, tentatively due late summer through Megaforce Records. In other news, Jericho's collaboration with FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward, a song entitled "Don't You Wish You Were Me", is featured on the new "WWE Originals" CD, due out today (January 13) through Columbia Records. An audio preview of the track can be heard online at this location. As previously reported, Jericho and Ward recorded a version of the KISS classic "King Of The Nighttime World" for a new KISS tribute record due out on Koch Records later this month. Joining the duo during the recording sessions were former ALICE IN CHAINS/OZZY OSBOURNE bassist Mike Inez and ex-CINDERELLA drummer Fred Coury. from blabbermouth.net

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 I don't listen to much rock. What does the non-wrestling crowd think of Fozzy? A lot of metal people don't mind Fozzy, however they don't sing their praises either. They do get some respect due to Rich Ward and some other former Stuck Mojo members being on board. Guest Repo Man Reborn Report post Posted January 13, 2004 From what I've heard of them, the music is half-decent, but the lead singer isn't big enough to headline. He can't work hard rock style.
dubq 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 The thing I never understood was.. how is KISS considered Metal? I mean, these wankers are souped up D&D geeks who play glorified disco... it's mind boggling..
justcoz 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 KISS really aren't heavy metal but they were the inspiration behind a lot of metal and punk musicians picking up an instrument so they get respect within those communities. Let's also not forget that in the 70's, if you were a kid, KISS would frighten your parents a lot more than The Carpenters, Eagles and Steely Dan. Early KISS was pure hard rock music. Their larger than life image made little kids want to be rock stars and their music was simple enough to learn and play. They did do a disco album and some pure pop/cliche hair metal records but they also had two pretty good heavy metal records (Creatures of the Night and Lick It Up) which were as heavy as anything coming out in the early 80's. Styles 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 Unholy is VERY metal by the way. I think I need to get Revenge. I'm not the biggest KISS fan but from what I heard I love their no-makeup period for pure heaviness and song quality...
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 I'm the king of the nighttime world... And you're...my...midnight queen! Yes, Laz owns Destroyer, and plays it like a motherfucker. This seems pretty cool. I wanna see how many pinch harmonics Rich Ward can add to it, and how many times Bud Fontsere will break down and do double-bass (since that's pretty much all he can do). One question I have is why they picked something during the makeup days, when Jericho prefer the non-makeup days musically (this information is known to anybody that has read Jericho's short-lived article for Metal Edge, which was just about the only thing worth reading in that magazine besides Paul Gargano's bashing of Creed)? Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 I think it was chosen by them because Jericho really like anything "king of the world" sounding. After all, its "king of the nighttime world". It's a great forgotten Kiss song.
