USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Anyways after watching Ric Flair's incredible Rumble victory in 1992, I began to wonder who held the record for the longest Rumble duration.... this is what I came up with... *NOTE* The numbers is followed: Year (obviously), the first number is when the superstar entered. The second number is their elimination. Then the time they lasted. I included both the winners and the "Ironmen". Enjoy. 1988: Winner: Hacksaw Jim Duggan (13th) 15:20 Ironman: Bret Hart (1st)(8th) 25:44 1989: Winner: Big John Studd (27th) 13:33 Ironman: Mr. Perfect (4th)(11th) 28:25 1990: Winner: Hulk Hogan (25) 13:36 Ironman: "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase (1st)(18th) 44:50 1991: Winner: Hulk Hogan (24th) 21:06 Ironman: "The Model" Rick Martel (6th)(25th) 52:33 1992: Winner and Ironman: Ric Flair (3rd) 1:00:10 1993: Winner: Yokozuna (27th) 15:26 Ironman: Bob Backlund (2nd)(28th) 1:01:11 1994: Winners: Bret Hart (27th) 16:28; Lex Luger (23rd) 22:22 Ironman: Bam Bam Bigelow (15)(23) 30:58 1995: Winner: Shawn Michaels (1st) 38:39 Ironmen: Shawn Michaels (1st) (Won), British Bulldog (2nd) (29th) 38:39 1996: Winner: Shawn Michaels (18th) 26:22 Ironman: Hunter Hearst Helmsley (1st)(19th) 48:00 1997: Winner and Ironman: Stone Cold Steve Austin (5th) 46:12 1998: Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin (24th) 11:30 Ironman: The Rock (4th)(28th) 51:50 1999: Winner: Vince McMahon (2nd) 56:31 Ironmen: Stone Cold Steve Austin (1st)(29th), Vince McMahon (2nd)(Won) 56:31 2000: Winner: The Rock (24th) 15:37 Ironman: Test (10th)(17th) 26:51 2001: Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin (27th) 15:38 Ironman: Kane (6th)(29th) 54:49 2002: Winner: Triple H (22nd) 26:37 Ironman: Stone Cold Steve Austin (19)(27) 28:54 2003: Winner: Brock Lesnar (29th) 9:17 Ironman: Chris Jericho (2nd)(14th) 38:53
Guest Coffey Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 So Bob Backlund has the record for longest in-ring time during a Royal Rumble? That's neat.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 14, 2004 Author Report Posted January 14, 2004 And Luger lasted longer than Bret in their co-win
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Well....... Backlund was KOed on the floor after the Berzerker slammed him. So he wasn't in the ring for the entire time.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Well....... Backlund was KOed on the floor after the Berzerker slammed him. So he wasn't in the ring for the entire time. But it was in between the the Gonzalez 3 minute beat down, which resulted in Demento and Rotundo to stand outside the ring ding nothing as well. Austin/McMahons 56:00 in 1999 shouldnt count either.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Well....... Backlund was KOed on the floor after the Berzerker slammed him. So he wasn't in the ring for the entire time. Neither was Flair in the 1992 Rumble - he and Hogan had a little exchange on the floor.
Guest Stunt Granny Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 You should find out who the shortest ones are. Tazz lasted about 15 seconds in 2001.
deancoles Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Warlord in 89 is the shortest for time in the ring.Owen Hart didn't last very long in 95 but Bret Hart was attacking him for about 2 minutes before he got into the ring.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 (edited) ^ I'd go with Bushwhacker Luke for the shortest. Edited January 15, 2004 by Deon Dark
ChrisMWaters Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Warlord in 89 is the shortest for time in the ring. I thought it was Mo in 95...
MillenniumMan831 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Warlord in 89 is the shortest for time in the ring. I thought it was Mo in 95... In ring . . . Warlord. From buzzard to elimination . . . Mo.
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Mo ran to the ring, across the ring, and out of the ring before you could even tell who was coming out. I can't see anyone lasting shorter than that. Certainly Luke lasted longer, but I haven't seen 1989 in awhile.
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 According to prowrestlinghistory.com both Mo & Warlord lasted 3 seconds, so we have to go to tenths of a second at least.
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Mo ran to the ring, across the ring, and out of the ring before you could even tell who was coming out. I can't see anyone lasting shorter than that. Certainly Luke lasted longer, but I haven't seen 1989 in awhile. Well, Warlord just stepped through the ropes and got clotheslined out over the top. I'd think that his must have taken a shorter time due to the lack of distance he had to travel.
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 To settle this, I'll go get my copy of RR89 and time Warlord's time in the Rumble.
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Well, according to my stopwatch: Warlord was in the 1989 Royal Rumble match for exactly 2.08 seconds. I counted from the moment when both of his feet touched the inside of the ring to the time when both feet touched the floor.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 The record for shortest Rumble is Godfather in 2002.... he didn't last a single second. Then next is Mo in 1995 at 9 seconds, Shawn Michaels in 1990 at 18 seconds and Tazz in 2001 at 19 seconds.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 What about Gillberg? He did his entrance, came in, posed, and was thrown over by Edge. and Hurricane?

Then next is Mo in 1995 at 9 seconds, Shawn Michaels in 1990 at 18 seconds and Tazz in 2001 at 19 seconds. I'll check Godfather's time in a sec, but from what point are you counting time, Gunslinger? When the buzzer goes off or when they enter the ring?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The record for shortest Rumble is Godfather in 2002.... he didn't last a single second. Then next is Mo in 1995 at 9 seconds, Shawn Michaels in 1990 at 18 seconds and Tazz in 2001 at 19 seconds. Actually Tazz lasted all of 9 seconds, Mo lasted about 2 seconds in 1995 (Lawler commentary is great) "Mo was on a Mission alright, he just broke Lukes record! What did he last, one second!?!" Michaels was 12 seconds in 1990, and Luke was 4.8 seconds in 1991. (I have all the PPV's and timed them) So the top Three are in order, Warlord, Mo, Luke. Lawler is close to Lukes time for 1997, as he jumped in, got punched over in about 4-5 seconds.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 What about Gillberg? He did his entrance, came in, posed, and was thrown over by Edge. and Hurricane? Between 6 and 7 seconds tops. He came in, posed on the ropes and Edge casually pushes him over like you said.

HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 and Hurricane? Which year? 2001 was it? When he tried to Chokeslam Austin and HHH, and they just tossed him over.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 From when the buzzer goes off.
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 This site: http://members.fortunecity.com/1sgtslaught...pv/rr/rr02.html lists Godfather's time at 0:00, but that's a clreical error. He was in it for 1min 47sec 41ms, eliminated by Chuck/Christian via double clothesline.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 Hurricane lasted a solid minute... but then again Im counting from the buzzer.
Slickster Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Hurricane lasted a solid minute... but then again Im counting from the buzzer. In the ring in 2002, Hurricane lasted 39.41 seconds.
