WWE Not High On Remaining OVW Crop

WWE Not High On Remaining OVW Crop

Farm system looks weak...

The general feeling is that WWE is no longer high on the remaining talent in their OVW farm system. The remaining talent is mostly cruiserweights, not big guys that Vince McMahon would consider bringing in and pushing.

OMG HOT NEWSZ~!

Let's just rename this thread "Let's bash Vince and Co. for not liking small guys version 989,489,904". :D

Seriously though, I didn't know that they were running low on Hossi.

Anybody else shocked that Vince doesn't want to bring in the "little guys".

Apparently all of these morons who keep releasing stuff like this as "news" day after day.

We need an official website where all of the Pro. Wrestling news sites join together, and the only thing is says on the front page is...

OMG this just in, Vince and Co. no like small guys!"

...and then just leave it at that untill something changes. Anytime anyone needs some news on the matter they can just go to that webpage and get the "update".

This is really weird that someone posted this. I actually went to the OVW website today because after the release of Spanky. I wanted to see the stats on height and weight of the remaining OVW guys and I was actually surprised on what I saw.

Here it is:

Rob Begley

HEIGHT: 6'0"

WEIGHT: 220 lbs.

Hitman" Chris Cage

HEIGHT: 6' 0"

WEIGHT: 220 lbs.

Matt Capotelli

HEIGHT: 6' 0"

WEIGHT: 220 lbs.

Carlos Colon

HEIGHT: 5' 10"

WEIGHT: 210 lbs.

Nick Dinsmore

HEIGHT: 6' 0"

WEIGHT: 226 lbs.

John Hennigan

HEIGHT: 6' 0"

WEIGHT: 204 lbs.

Johnny Jeter

HEIGHT: 6' 0"

WEIGHT: 218 lbs.

Mac Johnson

HEIGHT: 6' 1"

WEIGHT: 200 lbs.

Chris Kay

HEIGHT: 5' 9"

WEIGHT: 150 lbs.

Mike Mondo

HEIGHT: 5' 6"

WEIGHT: 185 lbs.

These are some examples of the roster for those who aren't familiar. No wonder why Vince isn't high on OVW right now. There isn't too many hosses in there.

Cage, Jeter, and Dinsmore are all very talented.

The tough enough kids apparently have learned enough but I really don't want to see Mr. "This just goes to show you that all things are possible through Christ" on WWE tv.

Unless he teams with HBK to become "The Prayer Warriors"

When Vince dies, and if Steph or Shane take over, do you think they'll be high on Hosses too?

I doubt Shane will be since he loves to fly. Although, he seems to really love David vs Goliath so it's 50/50 which is a lot better than the Steph factor.

Steph likes her wrestlers roided up with little to no talent.

Of course, because it's "what Daddy would have wanted".

C'mon..............a few Triple H "vitamins and some Kane boot-lifts and a few of these guys are borderline HOSS material.

IMHO, OVW is the best it has ever been.

- Nick Dinsmore is an unbelievable worker

- Johnny Jeter is getting insanely good and is going to be a big star.

- Mark Magnus has great charisma and his wrestling is coming around

- Nova is great

- Chris Cage is good with the potential to be great

- Tank Toland is good

- Seth Skyfire is really good for being a newbie

- Mike Mondo is really good for being a newbie

- Carlos Colon is pretty good

- TE 3 kids are getting pretty good

- "Inspector Impact" is a big hoss-type guy with fantastic mic skills, but he hasn't wrestled yet.

- Alexis Laree is great and Nikita is a good diva

There's no hosses to stink up the joint anymore.

Vince just needs to face the facts that Hosses aren't the future of wrestling anymore.

Why not rename the entire folder that...The "Let's Bash Vince and Co..." thread. And every thread must continue on from that. Kinda like Friends, and "The One With..."

And Shane isn't high on hosses? I thought he was Test's buddy. And Show's.

Sorry for that...let the 'Vince bashing because his opinions on what makes a wrestler don't comply with the general smark's' continue I guess.

Anyone actually seen OVW events?

Yes, I get their Weekly TV (I live around Louisville). It's been great lately. The wrestling isn't awesome all-around or anything, but there are some good matches and Cornette's booking is really amazing. It's smart and treats the fans with intelligence (i.e., no magic cameras that the wrestlers don't see backstage, etc.) There's some great angles going on too.

Cornette is the best in the business announcing the matches now, IMHO (now that JR is a self-parody).

God dammit, can you people (esp. Knox) please stop posting shit from the Torch on here? How many times does it have to be said that they make up their news????

Actually, yes, I do. Because it's not hard to take the "Vince busts a nut over big men and hates little men" thing and create something out of nothing or almost nothing. I suspect that the second sentence of that 'news item' is pure conjecture.

So getting some OVW tapes would be worth it?

Isn't Horshu working OVW? Or will be soon? He's fairly hoss-tastic. Who's playing Maxx Impact? Is that Horshu? I know it's a new name for one of their recent signings...

- "Inspector Impact" is a big hoss-type guy with fantastic mic skills, but he hasn't wrestled yet.

Inspector Impact is Horshu, which shows that Cornette can find talent in ANYONE if he works hard enough.

As for picking up OVW tapes, I recomment stuff from early 2001, when guys currently in the WWF were there (Brock, Sheldon Benjamin, Rico, Machine (Doug Basham), Damaja (Danny Basham), Leviathan (Batista), Rob Conway, Randy Orton, etc.) or stuff from a few months back when Conway, Nick Dinsmore, Damaja, and Machine were tearing up the rings.

The best tape to pick up would probably be the December 2003 one because it contains a lot of repeats of great shows from earlier in the year, such as the 20+ minute Machine vs. Damaja match with a Loser Leaves Town stip.

In a word, yes.

Yep... They've had a bunch of good matches in OVW and that match I listed before was a present to them by Cornette... He told them "It's gotta be 20 minutes long, here's the finish, do whatever you want" and it ended up being a match that Meltzer pimped highly.

Let me tell you......The Bashams, Cena, Rico are all very good workers.....the WWE style will kill almost anyone. Even Batista, as he was exciting to watch in OVW as Leviathon.

I picked up this DVD which had all OVW great matches on it. It's called "wrestling's future stars" and was about $10........Cornette does commentary. Great matches
