Styles 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 THIS WEDNESDAY FEATURES THE TNA CONTRACT SIGNING OF SURVIVOR'S STAR JONNY FAIRPLAY! As Don Callis told the world this past Wednesday, the most hated man in America - Survivor's Jonny Fairplay - is on the way to TNA!! NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett and TNA Management Consultant Don Callis happily announced the news, and plan on rolling out the red carpet for Fairplay this Wednesday night live on Pay-Per-View! BUT...WILL CALLIS STILL BE A PART OF TNA COME WEDNESDAY NIGHT? Following the controversial ending of Wednesday night's Pay-Per-View main event, TNA Management Consultant Don Callis erupted in rage and announced he would QUIT TNA if the NWA Board of Directors didn't reverse the decision! In turn, NWA Director of Authority Erik Watts promised HE would QUIT if Callis got his way? Now, the question is, what side will the Board choose? We'll get a decision this Wednesday night, and both Watts and Callis promise to back up their words! TNA STREET FIGHT NWA WORLD CHAMPION JEFF JARRETT vs. THE JUGGERNAUT MASKED NEWCOMER EL LEON (LION) Whoever this monster masked backup is that Erik Watts brought into TNA to pound some respect into Jeff Jarrett, he's been nothing but a juggernaut since his arrival! For two straight weeks, this superstar - dubbed El Leon (Lion) - has nearly annihilated the NWA World Champion! Now, this Wednesday night live on Pay-Per-View, the newcomer will make his in-ring wrestling debut as he faces Jarrett in a Street Fight! NUMBER ONE CONTENDER'S MATCH AMERICA'S MOST WANTED VS. THE REDSHIRT SECURITY (NORTHCUTT AND LEGEND) Following their brutal Rawhide Whipping Match, TNA has signed America's Most Wanted to face the Redshirt Security once again this Wednesday night - only a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Title will be up for grabs! Can AMW beat Northcutt and Legend and get back on track to the gold, or will Don Callis' monster security get the shot at 3Live Kru for the titles? THE SANDMAN AND BALLS MAHONEY VS. THE GATHERING (PUNK AND JULIO) WITH FATHER MITCHELL The Legend of Balls Mahoney Who is this hardcore chair-swinging freak? A former ECW standout, Balls Mahoney is known around the globe as one of the most hardcore superstars ever to compete in the ring - ranking up there in popularity with Raven, The Sandman, New Jack, Terry Funk and of course, Mick Foley. This Wednesday night live on TNA Pay-Per-View, The Sandman will team with Balls Mahoney to face The Gathering of CM Punk and Julio, along with Father Mitchell! For fans not familiar with Balls Mahoney, he has gained the reputation of being a "chair swinging freak" for annihilating many opponents with the steel weapon. His favorite match is also one of the most violent in wrestling - the "10,000 Thumbtack Match" in which he and his opponents leave the ring with thousands of thumbtacks stuck in their skin! Balls Mahoney certainly won't be confused with an X superstar, nor is he a bodybuilding adonis. Mahoney does one thing well, and that's brutalize opponents. Along with The Sandman, these two superstars will look to unleash hell on earth on the team of the Gathering this Wednesday night on Pay-Per-View! After the brutal beatdown at the hands of the Gathering this past Wednesday, The Sandman vowed revenge. Because Raven's whereabouts are unknown, Sandman said he was calling in someone perhaps more hardcore than he - the maniacal Balls Mahoney! A former ECW hardcore star, this will mark the TNA debut of the master of the "10,000 Thumbtacks Match." Will the team of Balls and Sandman put a quick end to Mitchell, Punk and Julio's uprising? Tune in and find out this Wednesday on Pay-Per-View! SIMON DIAMOND AND JOHNNY SWINGER VS. GLENN GILBERTI AND DAVID YOUNG Everyone knew it couldn't last - and the foursome of Simon, Swinger, Gilberti and Young finally exploded this past Wednesday as the two sides brutally attacked each other! As a result, the match is set for this Wednesday night as Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger finally get their hands on Glenn Gilberti and David Young! HANDICAP MATCH PRIMETIME ELIX SKIPPER AND THE FALLEN ANGEL VS. THE FRANCHISE SHANE DOUGLAS The arrogance of Shane Douglas and the rest of the New Franchise has landed him in hot water as TNA signed the superstar to face former Triple X members Primetime Elix Skipper and The Fallen Angel in a handicap match this Wednesday night! Of course, new X Championship number one contender Michael Shane will be hand for the bout, as will the lovely Traci! ALL THIS AND MUCH MORE ON WEDNESDAY JAN 21 LIVE ON PPV AS SURVIVOR'S JONNY FAIRPLAY SIGNS WITH TNA!

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 I find the odd thing about TNA is that whenever the card looks like crap, the show's angles turn out to be pretty good. Whenever the card looks good, the angles are crap.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted January 17, 2004 Which makes it REALLY hard to order the shows sometimes......
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I get shows most of the time, unless I'm lacking cash to pay every week. Time to bust out an old episode....yay! Team Extreme vs. Brian Lee, Slash & Mike Awesome in an Ultimate Sin match!
Tawren 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 What a fucking horrible looking card.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I wouldn't watch it if it was free. Are they trying to channel Thunder these days?
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 (edited) Looks like a pile of shit moulded into the form of a wrestling show. The fact that TNA could put out real good cards if they wanted to just makes a show like this look even worse. Edited January 18, 2004 by Cuban_Linx
Guest JacK Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I can only hope Daniels and Skipper win the handicap match quickly, easily and painlessly. Speaking of painless, who is El lion? What's the deal? A street fight v Jarrett first match is a decent debut, if it's not something stupid like Watts.
Silence 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Shit, now Punk has to try to carry TWO garbage wrestlers.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I dunno. If the match generates into a hardcore brawl, Balls can carry his own. But, of course, this is TNA, which is "OLD-SCHOOL" sports entertainment, so it'll be all in the ring when it's probably the only match on the card I wish would have in-crowd brawls. Astro101 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 El Leon is Apollo from IWA and the early days of TNA. I would say it looks horrible, but I dunno if the show will be horrible as well. Like it has been stated, when the preview sucks, sometimes it's actually a good show.
Guest Markingout Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Apollo blows. Botches every spot, makes things look fake as hell, and cannot sell for his life. He is one of Dutchs' favorites...
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Apollo blows. Botches every spot, makes things look fake as hell, and cannot sell for his life. He is one of Dutchs' favorites... Well, a lot of people said Abyss was "just another talent-less hoss that the booker loves". Then after he was on TNA a few weeks, everyone goes "Wow, he's pretty good." Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Abyss needs two things to change: his music and his ring attire. Sorry, but wearing a faux-Mankind mask while dressing like a garbage man and coming out to music that sounds like something you'd hear at a circus is BAD for a worker whose gimmick is supposed to be the BAD-ASS BIG UNSTOPPABLE GUY. I don't think Apolo is too bad. Decent brawler, but it seems that when he tries to do more than punch/kick is when he sucks. His match with Jeff Jarrett around Week 6 or 7 wasn't too shabby. EDIT: Oh, and thanks to TNA for admitting a huge booking flaw: Following the controversial ending of Wednesday night's Pay-Per-View main event, TNA Management Consultant Don Callis erupted in rage and announced he would QUIT TNA if the NWA Board of Directors didn't reverse the decision! In turn, NWA Director of Authority Erik Watts promised HE would QUIT if Callis got his way? Now, Callis threatening to quit if the decision was overturned is okay. In fact, I dug it a bit. But WATTS threatening to quit if the decision was overturned? THE STIPULATIONS FOR THE MATCH SAID THAT IF JARRETT/ABYSS WON, ERIK WATTS WOULD BE FORCED TO RESIGN. So how the FUCK does Watts think him threatening to quit would put pressure to NOT overturn the decision?

Styles 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2004 Apollo blows. Botches every spot, makes things look fake as hell, and cannot sell for his life. He is one of Dutchs' favorites... That might be your opinion but I know a lot of posters who have watched early TNA have asked if Appollo was coming back soon, so maybe there is a fanbase for him...
