starvenger 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 HOW in the name of God can she come back? First Law of Comics: Only Bucky stays dead. I thought the rule was only Bucky, Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy (clones don't count), and Jason Todd stay dead. I agree that clones don't count, but we've had red herrings with Stacy and (more recently) Todd, so I dunno about them. Anyways, it's just a saying that I hear every so often. I mean, sure, Bucky's death was a retcon, but he's been dead for a long time, even in Marvel terms, so I don't think that he's ever coming back, except in flashbacks. Well as far as I see as long as they don't REALLY come back to life, you know the real person, they count as staying dead. And I'd like to think that DC and Marvel wouldn't bring them back cause it would be better to have them stay dead and haunt Batman and Spiderman but, I could be wrong. Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted February 7, 2004 Colin Farell was without a doubt the mvp of the movie. I didn't think Afleck did a good job as Daredevil, Jennifer Garner was decent as Elektra, and MCD was an ok kingpin. I thought spiderman was a lot better, and I thought Dafoe was great as the Goblin

I thought spiderman was a lot better, and I thought Dafoe was great as the Goblin I don't think that anyone doubts that Dafoe was brilliant in capturing the schizoid (or is it MPD?) nature of the Goblin. The suit, however, was pretty bad. If Alfred Molina can capture Doc Ock even half as well as Dafoe did the Goblin, that'll be pretty darn good.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2004 Daredevil > Spiderman Not even close. Daredevil=shit, Spider-Man=good comic movie. The day they cast Ben Afleck of all people to play Daredevil gave me credence to the movie sucking.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted February 15, 2004 To be fair, Affleck isn't a bad actor. I think he just tends to act better for some directors than for others. His apparent dislike for returning to Daredevil may be an indicator of how important it was to him in the first place. That being said . . . DD was ok. I much prefer the work that's being done in the comics right now, though. DD kind of feels like a ghetto version of Spider-Man (the movie, I mean). DD in the comics is a much more complex character battling some very serious things. They only scratched the surface of that in the film. And I agree that Goblin's costume wasn't so hot. Dafoe did an amazing job with what he had, though. For an origin story, I think Spider-Man is one of the best superhero movies made yet. But, like X2, I think Spidey 2 is going to completely blow it away. X1 is . . . okay, compared to X2. I think Spidey 2 will wind up overshadowing it's predecessor entirely. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2004 It'll be pretty hard for Spidey 2 to be better than the first one. I am anxiously waiting it.
