Raw meeting - Trish/Vince

Recommended Posts

Guest wildpegasus

Anyone know if this is true? I picked it up from wrestlezone.com I thought it was interesting because it shows a hint of what Vince thinks is important.

The big topic this week has been the backstage meeting before RAW on Monday, where Vince discussed quite a few issues.

After the meeting, Vince opened the floor to the wrestlers and staff to voice their opinions and ask questions. Trish Stratus was one of the WWE employees who decided to make a suggestion.

Trish suggested that the house show matches should have more to do with WWE TV, citing the fact that this weekend's RAW house shows only had two matches (the women's match and Richards vs. Test) that had anything to do with the workers' respective television angles. This, of course, is something suggested by almost everyone in the business.

Vince, however, was not really interested and shot down her comments. He said that the company's main focus was improving TV ratings and PPV buyrates, and house shows wouldn't become an issue later. Of course, since most of the wrestlers depend heavily on house show revenue, house shows are a very important issue to them.

To update the story about Vince shooting down Trish's comments about house shows at the RAW meeting last week, The Torch Newsletter reports that she was also mocked after the meeting for her comments, since most don't feel she has enough knowledge of the business to make such a comment. It is believed that some WWE management members may be a tad bit sexist, and still can't take a female wrestlers' opinion on the business very seriously.

Does anyone know any more details of the meeting? These sort of things interest me.

If they're sexist, how does that work with Steph? Is there something about her we don't know or isi t just for girls who are not McMahons?

Vince McMahon, sexist? Oh please, he treats everyone fairly, and always lets women wrestlers get main event slots on RAW and Sunday Night Heat. They are the future of wrestling! [/sarcasm]

Or is this just bullshit used to create a stir? Hm, might be.

If it's true, I don't think it's a bad suggestion. I really don't see the harm in it. Although it seems when I read results, most the matches do have something to do with what they're dong on Raw or Heat.

I still contend that if they'd actually use their syndicated shows to announce what the house shows lineups would be instead of making people rely on wwe.com in the event they actually post it, they'd raise house show business that way.

And if they're that worried about raising TV ratings and buyrates, how does "push the people the fans care about" sound?

The problem was in front of their eyes with the over the top challenge Monday night. RVD gets eliminated...the crowd's pissed. Jericho gets eliminated...the crowd's pissed. Goldberg wins, the crowd goes "Thank God it's not Randy Orton!"

Good thing Trish wasn't a black woman, god knows how they would have treated her comment. Probably would have told her to go get him some coffee and a bagel.

While I doubt the story, I have no problem believing the WWE management is not only racist but also sexist. I mean, I could have SWORN that the "you need bigger breasts to make it in this business" method for females might have been the first clue.

That battle royal was hilarious.

Now...they did a real good job on RAW making Goldberg look good, IMO...which is a good thing going into the Rumble match...

but RVD, Booker and Jericho were the first three out...and then you look at your options of winner.

Mark Henry

Randy Orton

Goldberg

Good thing Trish wasn't a black woman,

And gay.

Can't forget gay.

Actually, that would increase her chances of getting her advice listened to.

See Patterson, Pat.

I take everything reported by any source about what goes on in the meetings with a grain of salt, though I wouldn't be surprised if people bitched at Trish for daring to speak her mind, since only the veterans like UT and Bradshaw are allowed to speak up (Matt Hardy anyone?).

Trish Stratus isn't a rookie, and while I think she's horrendous in the ring, she's been in the company long enough for her opinion to be heard.

This is from..."wrestlezone?" Let's have a more credible source, please. Not that this seems unlikely, but it sounds like it could have been made up just to stir crap up.

If she was a gay black female she wouldn't have been IN the meeting. They would have had her outside doing Vince's laundry and Vince would have ordered her to "talk like that nanny from Gone with the Wind, my daughter loves that movie!"

I really don't need the Torch or 1wrestling or WO to tell me this company might be sexist and racist. God knows JR saying "whipping him like a pet coon" for a few years was my first damn clue about the possible racism in the company.

I had that figured out when Ted DiBiase's "bodyguard" was black and One Man Gang became "African".

It would have been great had Vince started laughing and said

"Ahahahah would someone put a cock in her mouth already? I mean really..."

... cause that would mean that Vince has some sense of humour and then the possibility -however small- arises for something actually funny to happen on TV.

Don't blame Trish, it was the stank talking.

What does Mark Henry have to do with this?

She's like, covered in his stank.. and stuff.

Well, according to him. But I have no reason not to believe Mark Henry.

Thank you for ruining any Trish fantasies for me ever, you bastard.

That's easy. Nipple H isn't female by any way, shape, or form.
