And to make things worse, the current WWE.com poll is: Do you think Benoit will win the Royal Rumble? A) Yes he will B) No he won't. At the moment, about 50.34 percent think he will. Now, it's just too obvious. Benoit will not win the Royal Rumble. I'm guessing either Kurt Angle or Goldberg will win the Rumble.

I'm expecting a Randy Orton title defense, or some sort of fun match with Mick Foley. To me, there are three definitly possible winners: Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, and Goldberg. There are great arguments for all three and I'd be surprised if anyone else won.

Personally, the best way to set off the Lesnar-Goldberg feud is during Sunday Night Heat. Just as the show is about to go off the air, Goldberg is revealed -- in the backstage area -- to be unconscious with blood spattered all over his body. The announcers can then question who the perpetrator was and wonder whether or not Goldberg will be in proper condition to keep his spot in the Rumble. And then during the Rumble, when the countdown is at 0, The Rock or Undertaker can come out. This can lead to the announcers -- and Goldberg -- to become very suspicious, and perhaps question the possibility that Rock or Taker could be the culprit. The motives of each wrestler can be questioned, too, resulting in Goldberg, as he's recooperating from the attack, to impose his brute force upon every RAW and SD! wrestler, with the purpose of interrogating each and every one of them. Of course, Brock Lesnar will eventually admit to the misdeed, citing the main reason for his actions: He finally wants to separate himself from the man (Goldberg) that he's always compared to.

Guest Coffey Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I really don't know who is going to win. To me, that's what makes this years Royal Rumble exciting and worth watching. Well, that along with the other matches that have potential to be good - great. I guess, if I had to choose, I would pick Kurt Angle. Truthfully, I really don't see why he would win it or anything like that. However, after hearing about him dedicating the match to the "troops" and remembering how patriotic the WWE tries to be, it seems logical. My money was on Chris Benoit for a long time. Of course, the reasoning behind that was because of shit that I had read. I guess Goldberg is possible as well, however with all the latest shit going around about Goldberg, like the banning of the Jackhammer and whatnot, it seems as if he won't be doing a hell of a lot during his last couple of months. I suppose Randy Orton or John Cena have a chance too. I guess I'll find out on Sunday.

Yes, that can be a bad indication Benoit won't win the Rumble but you can also read it as the WWE planting the seed in people's minds that there's no dobut Benoit's going to be victorious. Therefore everyone will think that Benoit's not winning because the WWE is making it too obvious. Than you pull the good old swithceroo and have Benoit win. Perhaps the WWE thought that since the word's out that Benoit's going to win they may as well go with it and make him an obvious choice. That way they're planting dobut in everyone's mind. They're trying to make people think they're using reverse physcology but they're actually really using reverse - reverse physcology. Or maybe the WWE just gave up and decided to let the secret out.

Randy Orton didn't take out Goldberg,like some predicted he will. Randy Orton didn't win the battle royal this past Monday, like some predicted he will. Since November some members here have been predicting he will win the Royal Rumble. Will they be wrong again? We'll find out this Sunday.

It's brilliant. They always make it obvious who's going to win such as the Goldberg batlle royal last week. Everyone knew Goldberg was going to win so that planted the seed of dobut in everyone on whether he's going to win. Than everyone says, " Goldberg's not gonna win. That's too obvious. Henry's gonna take this." What happens after that? Goldberg wins and NOBODY expects it. Rinse and repeat for everything the WWE does and we have the most unpredictable sport/entertainment show in the history of anything and everything. Pure genius. Personally, I think everybody's been underestimating the WWE's IQ level. They're just so far ahead and nobody realises it. **runs away after seeing some men dressed in black with the WWE logo on their clothes**

Now, I know everyone's going to say "But that's because HHH wins everything" and make all the obvious Triple H jokes, but he's not the only case of being a shoe-in to win. Austin's first win was obvious. Personally I think those two were far easier to pick than this year, because I know there is doubt in my mind that Benoit will win.

Using your logic, a wrestler, who gets the "last laugh" against his opponent before an upcoming PPV, makes the outcome at the PPV "too obvious" in the fans' minds, making the aforesaid wrestler's victory at the PPV a surprise. But this almost never happens.

Personally I think all the RR since 98 have had an obvious winner. I think HBK beats HHH at the Rumble and is a transition champ, no clue as to who but you know Trips won't drop the title cleanly to anybody but his friend and Michaels has been up to puting people over (Jericho, Orton). Having said that I believe the winner of the RR comes from the Smackdown side.
