Well, its inevitable. Benoit will FINALLY win WWE Gold. We've been talking about this since 2000. Winning the Royal Rumble is the first step to ultimate glory. Throughout the weeks we'll all commence to this thread and discuss OUR favourite superstar as he progresses through the final steps to the Championship. Together, we'll make a collection of posts that will track Benoit through the next few months. Afterwards, we can all look back out our journey together when we retire this thread in the Classic Folder after the PPV in April. Well smarks, hold onto your seats, this thread is for you.

Here is what I think would be cool if it happened:

 

Have HHH look like he can't win at WM on his on, so have everyone help him beat Benoit...then at Edmonton, have it a straight up one on one match, no one allowed at ring side, and have Benoit beat him fair and square, tap him out. That would make HHH look like the coward that he is at heart, prove that Benoit is the better man one on one, and when Benoit DID win the title, it would have a very special feel, seeing how the PPV after WM is in Edmonton.

 

Here is what will actually happen if they want Benoit to win the title:

 

HHH will beat Benoit fair at WM, and then at the next PPV Benoit will win the title only because someone helps HIM, just for that person to start a new feud with HHH.

 

I'm not including the possibility of Benoit just winning straight up at WM, because really now, even I doubt that'll happen, so I'm not even going to think about it.

The best possible scenario is that Benoit retires, fucks Woman, makes babies, trains those babies to wrestle, and in 20-25 years we'll have a whole new crop of fantastic wrestlers to watch and hopefully -by then- HHH and Steph will be divorced and spawned no children together, and the McMahon empire will be long dead and the wrestling industry can start over again and created a healthy environment for those lil Benoits to flurish.

 

... I can wait 20-25 years.

Benoit will trade to RAW and face HBK after HHH drops the title on RAW dude to Stone Colds law as HBk walked out of the ring therefore he was last man standing and Goldberg will face Lesner at WMXX after he drops the title to Eddie at NWO

It's not even close to accurately describing the feeling I have - it's just the closest possible thing. I imagine this is what dark matter feels like; if dark matter could feel.

Yeah, where's the cool? Anything involving HHH and Benoit - not cool. Best possible thing in that horrible scenario: Benoit beats HHH at Mania. Benoit beats HHH again at Backlash after HHH confidently says "I'll get that title back when ever I want, I always do. Michaels beat me for it, I took it back. Goldberg beat me for it, I took it back. This is nothing new to me." and then Benoit proceeds to whoop him again and retires with the belt.

 

Wait... no, Benoit then beats Brock at Summerslam for the WWE title and THEN retires with the Belt.

Everyone knows I am not a supporter of Mr. Christ (benoit) because I don't believe you should get a title because people on the internet love you or that you have Bret Hart's personal seal of approval.

 

Is he over? Yes. So is Angle, Cena and Eddy...and Rikishi. (chew on that one)

 

I personally believe Eddy Guerrero is more deserving of a title and it appears Eddy will get the title first...

 

 

But to say that you hope he fucks up is just stupid, I am well aware of his desire to be #1 and he even gave up the chance to be a phony #1 in 2000 because he knew it wasn't the real deal...

 

Do I think he's the best guy to go to WM with as your #1 contender babyface? No Way If its WM, which has always been built upon LARGER THEN LIFE premise.

 

Benoit doesn't have that Austin, Rock, Hogan, HHH, Shawn or even Bret aura about him. Brock Lesnar does and that is why Vince McMahon has revolved the entire spectactular around Him and His son-In-Law.

 

I believe Eddy Guerrero is a better story, a better draw (as we all know of the Latino Population that freuqently watch Smackdown) and a more Larger then Life persona for the Carnival that is WWE.

Please 25 years from now HHH will still be holding the title, He'll be on his 43 reign, after losing the belt and the regaining it from people such as members of HBK's family, Scott Hall's kids, McMahon's, and probably Orton. Of course he'll be in a wheelchair by then but BAH GAWD!!! he's gotta show the kids how its done..
