Guest JMA Report post Posted January 28, 2004 I'm not so sure Bush and Rudy would properly "click" together. Bush and Cheney seem to compliment each other nicely, IMO. I'm not a fan of them by ANY stretch of the imagination, but they do work well as a pair.
Guest Bottled Black Report post Posted January 28, 2004 As a Staten Islander I can tell you almost everyone here loved Rudy G. Before him with Dinkins, SI was looking to seceeding from the city. Dinkins didn't give a crap about SI. Guiliani did, He actually *gasp* treated us as a part of NYC which is good because we are 1 of the 5 boroughs and all. Yeah just keep telling yorself that. Keep telling myself what?
BUTT 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Clinton? That wouldn't be legally possible, would it?

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 No. They'll just waste it on other crap... Better that a Democrat President veto everything and Congress choke the President for money than our current situation. They had no reason to place expansion powers for the Patriot Act hidden in a larger bill other than to try and fool the public. Also, I think BX has been reading too much Slate

He only easily won election as mayor twice, cleaned up Times Square, slashes crime in NYC. Heck, before Rudi, David Dinkins was a prominent pol on the scene --- Giuliani did such a good job that Dinkins ineptitude became impossible to ignore. Other than that, yeah, he probably was useless. -=Mike
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted January 28, 2004 You know, this might mean trouble for the Democrats in November. So much in fact, that they may have to respond in kind in November. The man for the job, you ask? Yeah, like Clinton could possibly subjugate his ego to do that. Why the Dems love Clinton is beyond me. He basically ruined your party by totally selling out ALL of your core beliefs. -=Mike ...Of course, it would also be unconstitutional.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Poor SI. The forgotten borough. Chances are, when someone says "I'm going to the city" they're not really going to get in the general vicinity of Staten Island.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Fuck all that. I want this to happen just so I could hear Limbaugh lose his shit on-air. LOL, the greatest part of the 2000 chaos was watching boards full of Republicans who so desperately wanted to see the Clinton/Gore families leave Washington. "Why won't these people LEAVE?!?!" Ah, how fun it will be to watch their blood pressure rise this year, assuming nothing stupid happens. -=Mike ...Of course, it would also be unconstitutional. Did you not read my f'n link? Styles 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Did you not read my f'n link? Wow, Clinton's a sneaky bastard. I can see some scheme where as he runs as Vice President, helps get a Dem elected (say Kerry). Kerry then immediately resigns his post as President, and boom 4 more years of Clinton! We're all doomed!
Guest Bottled Black Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Poor SI. The forgotten borough. Chances are, when someone says "I'm going to the city" they're not really going to get in the general vicinity of Staten Island. Yes but the same can be said of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Because them and Manhattan and oh yeah Staten Island make up New York CITY. Of course no one wants to acknowledge that since we no longer accept everyones garbage in Fresh Kills. Because them and Manhattan and oh yeah Staten Island make up New York CITY. Of course no one wants to acknowledge that since we no longer accept everyones garbage in Fresh Kills. Oh take it easy. I'm just joking around about Staten Island being a marginal borough. I'm sure it's a fine place, but I've noticed, and maybe it's just that I ask idiots, that when I ask somebody to name the five boroughs they get Manhattan and Queens, usually Brookln and the Bronx, but #5 is anything from "Long Island" to "Buffalo" to "Satin Island" or humorously, "New Jersey."
