Dave Scherer’s contract with 1wrestling.com is expiring and we were unable to reach an agreement on terms for a new contract.  Dave Scherer will be leaving 1Wrestling at the end of this month and will be launching his own website to be located at:  www.pwinsider.com

 

Buck Woodward, Jess McGrath, and Mike Johnson will also be leaving 1Wrestling.com.

 

1Wrestling.com thanks Dave Scherer for his contributions to the site and we wish him the best of luck in the future.

 

Georgiann Makropoulos will be staying with 1Wrestling.com and will continue with her regular updates. Brian Fritz, co-host of the popular Between The Ropes wrestling radio show, will be increasing his involvement and will focus primarily on audio features for 1Wrestling.com Premium. Interviews with Shawn Michaels, Tully Blanchard, and others will be available later this week for Premium members. David Webber will be joining the 1Wrestling.com staff and will be responsible for much of the day to day news updates and reviews that will appear on the site.

 

Premium members will see enhancements that will be announced over the next few days, including the relaunch of 1Wrestling Radio with new hosts. A special discount program for www.1WrestlingShop.com will also offer Premium members a 5% discount on all purchases made using a special code. Details about that special offer, as well as other enhancements, will be announced soon.

 

1Wrestling.com, since it's launch in 1997, has been the source for news and information about the world of professional wrestling. While the names of some of the people involved will be changing, 1Wrestling.com will continue to meet -- and exceed -- the standards the site has set for wrestling coverage online.

 

I don't know what to make of this - I can't see 1wrestling being as popular now though.

Dave Sherer was mainly the only one on that site that posted any news. 1wrestling.com is useless without him. Dave Sherer's new site is popup free:)

1. You didn't have to pay - all the NEWS was still free.

 

2. When are people going to get with it and install the google toolbar on your internet explorer? It has a pop up blocker that works flawlessly. It's perfect.

It appears that everyone has left 1wrestling but the one female writer who i never cared for.

 

New site looks good to me, i have no problem with pop ups. I hated the Click Here and Buy my CD though.

An update on this site: There are pop-ups now (albeit not as many as 1wrestling) and the server is slow. That being said I will continue to read the site since Scherer is my favorite source for news and my friend has an Elite Account.

My pop up blocker killed off a total of 32 pop ups...and that was due to me clicking and reading 4 stories

i get 2-3 pop ups per page, I think 1wrestling looks so crappy right now, no lead writer all of there things are by various writers or 1wrestling, it looks messy to me,
