Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 This week’s edition of Raw did what I believe averages out to a 4.0 cable rating, with a 5.8 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show did hours of 3.8 and 4.1. By Dave Scherer of pwinsider.com
Guest Choken One Report post Posted January 28, 2004 No... Foley=Ratings. They hyped him the WHOLE show... Benoit wasn't hyped and lasted on air for like 2 minutes.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Wow! What was the last show that got a 4.0 anyway?
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 I thought it was a good Raw. It deserved a good rating.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Wow! What was the last show that got a 4.0 anyway? September 1st, when it got a 4.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Wow, that is surprising. I think people were interested in *gosh* the storylines they have going.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Wow, way to go Foley. Course, major ouch for the younger guys when old Mick can come in and grab the 4 they haven't been able to come close to touching.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 That is the highest rating in a long while, isn't it?
deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 A lot of people may have watched because they were expecting the Undertaker to return.
Guest Deebo Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Randy Orton = Ratings. <runs away quickly>
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Orton couldn't even get cheap heat. I doubt there are 20 people out there who watch Raw just for Orton.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 (edited) Randy Orton = Ratings. <runs away quickly> No way the people were waiting patiently for the HHH & Flair run in. What if Foley & HBK became tag team champions? Edited January 28, 2004 by razazteca
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 If I was going to really give credit for the rating, I'd say that 1) The Rumble is usually the biggest non-WM PPV of the year and typically all of the "Road to Wrestlemania" stories begin the night after the Rumble 2) The possible returns of Undertaker/Foley probably created a buzz 3) After last night, there are a lot of feuds with one or more Raw guy that are getting good heat (Brock/Goldberg, Triple H/Michaels, Foley/Orton, Kane/Undertaker)
Fökai 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 No rating on the overrun?
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Good shit, and if it was Foley hopefully the overrun was solid too. But realistically it was Orton's performance in the rumble that drove ratings up. There's no other logical answer.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Orton couldn't even get cheap heat. I doubt there are 20 people out there who watch Raw just for Orton. Who watches a show JUST for one wrestler?
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted January 28, 2004 I do, Rock when he's on it will make me watch a show I otherwise wouldn't, although I don't know if it counts considering if he's gone I'd change the channel.
Guest Daddy X Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Things are looking good for WWE. The storylines and build are actually very entertaining, the matches are solid, Wrestlemania is looking very good. I'm liking it.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Hmm. I'd like to see how Suck and a Half did. He's usually a ratings killer, but maybe months and months and months of push finally got one good rating.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Who watches a show JUST for one wrestler? Benoit's the only guy on Raw that makes me tune into the show. There are a few other wrestlers that I like but not enough to make me tune in as last week was one of the few Raws I've watched this year. And man, the whole thing was wretched. Smackdown destroys it.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Last week, the HHH/HBK interview segment was a bomb in the ratings. If it does a high QH this week, then it will be due to Benoit in all fairness. Let's wait for the quarter hours. One mega overrun does not=.4 higher than usual unless it's REALLY huge.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Let's see 3.8 1st hour was because everybody and their momma wanted to laugh at Orton for missing the spot. And 4.1 because everybody wanted to see Orton get bitch smacked by Foley...........how the hell did green boy get HTM heat?
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Orton couldn't even get cheap heat. I doubt there are 20 people out there who watch Raw just for Orton. Who watches a show JUST for one wrestler? I used to watch Raw just to see Jericho. But storylines make ratings, not wrestlers.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 That explains why Eddy and Benoit have been pulling in more viewers on Smackdown for the last 6 months than Shawn has on Raw. Wait, no it doesn't.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Ummm....Hasn't Foley been hyped damn near entire shows within the past month with no ratings jump?
Michrome 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Yes, with that one week of him being hyped the whole show being a real good example. The main event did a very good sustained number, mostly because people thought he was coming.
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Benoit=Ratings. People chanting his name. 2 big standing O's after great matches. I remember the night Benoit fought Cena and then Brock. The fans were all for Cena and even chanted "Benoit Sucks!" during the match, but buy the time the night was over he had the crowd wrapped around his finger with his wrestling ability. He got another standing O after that match. His wrestling ability does the talking for him.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 28, 2004 I kept tuned in because I wanted to see if the crowd was alive...I never did get any confirmation one way or the other
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Okay, maybe ratings might spike up a night or two. But storylines are what keep the viewers coming back everyweek. For example, when the Rock made his return a few years ago he spiked the ratings up. Did they stay up? No because the storylines weren't there. We'll see next week.
