Guest Goodear Report post Posted January 29, 2004 We join the view from the parking lot of the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio and find that one member of the SWF crew has already found his way there. Because parked in the middle of the lot already sits The S. S. General Lee Jr. the main means of travel and the home of one Mr. Coy West. Sitting outside of the RV in a metal folding chair, Coy is sipping on a lemonade while behind him it is quite obvious that there is quite a bit of happy comotion going on. "Hey there," remarks Coy to the camera man, "you ready to talk?" The camera's view nods in approval and Coy speaks once more, "Good, come with me. VERA! I'm going to go talk at a camera for a while, keep an eye on those youngins!" The familiar feminine voice rings back, "Okay Coy! Don't be too long though, the kids want to watch The Wiggles with yah!" "Don't worry hun, this won't take long!" Coy looks at the camera again and jerks his head in another direction away from the camper. "Come on Zeke." Away West walks with the camera man in tow, waiting for a few comments from the resident white trash of the SWF to find a spot where he'll be willing to speak. Finally after getting far enough way from the RV that its almost a blip in the distance, Coy finally turns to the camera man and starts to talk in his Sourthern twang. "Sorry for dragging you out this far, bud, but I didn't want my kids to here me cuss. You know how it is when you got young impressonable minds. I don't wan them saying Clusterfuck every night at the dinner table regardless if I win the thing or not." Putting his hands in his pockets, Coy starts the stare at the ground a bit as though he's actually kind of nervous to be saying much of anything to the camera. "You know... a lot of people are going to want to win this thing on Sunday. A whole lot of people want to. And they got a whole lot of reasons too. They want that shot at Genesis. They want the glory of winning a Clusterfuck. The new kids from the SJL want to make a name for themselves. But not me." Coy looks up at the camera with a rather hard look in his eyes, "See, titles don't really mean a whole lot to me. I don't need to be the best at something to enjoy doing it and I sure as hell don't have to be in the biggest match of the SWF year at Genisis either. And glory? Glory don't mean nothing. All that means is a bunch of people see you do something right. Hell, people do things right all the time. The kids and I just got the best damn Happy Meals I have every had in our lives yesterday. The kid who put them together for us didn't get no applause. She didn't need any. She knew she did good. And making a name for yourself... whats in a name? I like being able to go to a grocery store and buying some grits without having people know who I am." "So. What exactly am I doing in the Clusterfuck? Hell, what am I doing in the SWF? The answer to all of that is right over there." Coy turns his head with the camera to catch a view of his moble home just a little spot in the distance. "See, I get my ass beat in every night for the four people that live in that thing with me. I ain't bright enough to get a good job that pays 100K a year. I don't have the heart to be no preacher. But I can fight. I can fight to get those kids into college some day. I can fight to get that woman a house where she can plant some flowers on. I can fight 20 guys all night long if I have to. I can get titles, glory and all that other stuff... but in the end it all comes down to them. What I can do for THEM." "I look myself in the mirror every morning and think about stuff like that. I'm not a whole lot of things. I'm not pretty. I'm not state of the art. I'm not big, strong, or fast. But I will fight until I can not fight no more. That's what I'm about. Thanks for your time." Walking off to the distance, we watch as Coy meanders back across the parking lot to the S. S. General. Popping the dorr on the side open he yells out, "OKAY! Whose ready for WIGGLES!" "ME!" "ME!" "ME!"
janusd 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 I quite like it. It puts Coy over as what he really is - a family man just trying to get by and support his family. And a filthy mulletheaded redneck. And yaaaaaay! THE WIGGLES~!
Guest Aecas Report post Posted January 29, 2004 You will fear the WIGGLES
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Thank you so much Ejiroy, now I have some kind of definement for the charater when writing him in the fuck! However, whats this about winning the ME slot at Genesis? I thought the CF winner gets a title shot at From the Fire? *goes back to edit his match*
Guest Goodear Report post Posted January 29, 2004 Isn't it Genesis? I thought that was the way it worked. If I'm right, just do a find and replace. If I'm wrong... I guess I'll do the same. Edit: And I think I'm wrong.

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 I'd still like a shot at Genesis... no matter how wrong the original context was.
the.weej 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2004 Ahh... lovely. A very important promo, as it establishes Coy beyond the fact he's a redneck hick hillbilly a-hyuck, hyuck, hyuck. Although you could probably question what sane person really thinks they're going to be able to support a family through the wrestling buisness, I'll let that logic-gap slide since it's a really original source for character motivation. I had worried whether or not you'd be able to find a way to give more dimensions to Coy, but I shouldn't have doubted ya'. -Z
