Eclipse 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 Well, I received a new CD burner today in the mail. I decided to install it. Well, of course, there is a remaining CD bay. I thought..."It should be easy, just pop out the cover facing the PC closing the CD bay, and boom, easy installation. BUT.....nope. I have NO CLUE on how to take out that cover. I tried taking it out by force, but I didn't want to risk breaking it. Inside of the empty CD bay, there are like 2 tabs in there. They look like they could slide out...but they didn't. What can I do? I have no clue what to do next! By the way, it's a Compaq Presario 5000 Series.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 We have the same computer. The process it quite simple if you read those directions. I had to do that to unplug my worthless piece of crap CD-RW drive that came installed, although I still havent figured out how Im supposed to get my disk out of it since it doesn't even have a manual release pin hole thing. Its not a big deal since the disc isn't important and probably scratched up a good deal.
BX 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 You dont need a burner, despite what anyone tells you. Making CDs and DVDs are quite easy.
