How would you compare a great offensive lineman in the 50s to a great wide receiver in the 90s? Yes and as already mentioned the list of players they have sucks. Yeah, and they were probably the most nondescript running yards in NFL history, too. Rushing leader in carries, rushing yards, TD's. 2nd in combined rushing/receiving TD's and 3rd in yards from scrimmage. Led league rushing 4 times including 3 straight years(91-93). Led league in rushing TD's 3 times and placed in the top 5 9 times. Led league in rushing/receiving TD's 3 times and yards from scrimmage 2 times. Also won 3 Super Bowls. He got alot of sacks, but had too many plays he didn't seem to make an effort on. For me Walter Payton ranks ahead of Jim Brown. Payton played on alot of bad teams, was a good receiver, and an outstanding blocker. Brown might of been the better runner, but Payton has him beat in overall back.
