Guest BionicRedneck Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Yeah, it's pretty crappy now, but it hasn't always been.
Dangerous A Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 While NJ Juniors work has sucked considerably for the last several years because of the influence of MMA, the NJ Junior period of 1989-1996 has shown the wrestling world some of the best matches, ever.
Vern Gagne Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Why did the WWE scrape Orton's RNN segments? That at least had some originality and wasn't the sterotypical heel Orton's become?
Guest Ray Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I don't outright HATE them, but I don't see the point of them. You don't see the point of wrestlers of a similar size wrestling? Benoit and Eddy are great examples of this, btw. Both have had more success as heavies over the years, Define more success. Benoit's best matches came in New-Japan, as a junior heavyweight. Guerrero's best match was a WCW cruiserweight title match. so what was the point of them being cruisers in the first place. Maybe because they were short and skinny, therefore not heavyweights?
Guest BionicRedneck Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Orton is nowhere near a Cruiser How much does he weigh? about 225? Benoit/Eddie must have all been around that weight when they wrestled as Cruisers. Particularly Benoit, he was roided out of his gourd.
Tawren Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Orton is nowhere near a Cruiser How much does he weigh? about 225? Benoit/Eddie must have all been around that weight when they wrestled as Cruisers. Particularly Benoit, he was roided out of his gourd. Having muscles doesn't always equal steroids.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 You don't see the point of wrestlers of a similar size wrestling? A while ago, Scott Keith said that the WWE's cruiser division was simply short-arses wrestling a normal match. That I have no problem with. My problem is with the Sonjay Dutt/Special K/ "spotmonkey" cruisers Define more success Their current push, which a guy like Jamie Knoble isn't gonna get. Why did the WWE scrape Orton's RNN segments Triple H, probably. The current "paid for by the friends and associates of Orton " are way funnier, and get the asshole thing over better. the NJ Junior period of 1989-1996 I've only started watching puro in the past two years, but I've ordered the Super J-Cup 94, and i'll probably work from there
Guest Ghettoman Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Having muscles, orange skin and thinning hair does.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Nope. I'm not a fan of the NJ Juniors in general, because its become largely MMA based, and frankly, it bores me to tears Not to stir MORE Shit, but are you talking about thinking Jushin Liger (or Jyushin Lyger, whichever way you want to spell it) is BORING?! I've only seen his stuff between 1991-94 (when he was in his prime) and think he was one of the best wrestlers at the time. Of course now, I don't know, I don't follow the stuff just about.
Guest Ray Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 A while ago, Scott Keith said that the WWE's cruiser division was simply short-arses wrestling a normal match. That I have no problem with. My problem is with the Sonjay Dutt/Special K/ "spotmonkey" cruisers Then your problem is spotmonkeys, not cruiserweights. They aren't the same thing. Liger was no spotmonkey. Their current push, which a guy like Jamie Knoble isn't gonna get. Should he? Does Noble look like a credible threat to Lesnar? Of course not. That's the point of having a seperate cruiserweight division. Get pushed as a cruiser against other cruisers.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 When did I ever say I wanted you banned? I swear, you just make stuff up as you go along. Oh just bog off. Serves me right for attempting to speak logic with a Teddy Anus fan. The fuck? I DON'T LIKE TEDDY HART. I'M ONE OF HIS BIGGEST DETRACTORS, SEEING AS I WAS THE GUY HE PUNCHED. YOU BROUGHT HIM UP. THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? The Hell?! Whats this about Teddy Hart punching you?! Oh, and I was one person defending Teddy Hart, but not to an extent. I just said he was entertaining, but his attitude was a problem.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Orton is more like 245 Oh yeah, I remember his little excuse for being bigger :cough:REALsteroiduser:cough:. He added 15 pounds of muscle or something and looked a lot bigger than before.
Dandy Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Orton is about 6'4", and has a good frame on him. He has thick legs, which carries some of his weight without making him look heavier than he is. Orton looks like he weighs less because he has a slender, athletic build, but he is as broad as Triple H when they walk down the aisle. He's just cut more, and not as thick in the arms and such.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Then your problem is spotmonkeys, not cruiserweights A lot of people don't see a difference. Should he? Does Noble look like a credible threat to Lesnar? Of course not. That's the point of having a seperate cruiserweight division. Get pushed as a cruiser against other cruisers. Well, the WWE has a seperate cruiser division. Too bad no-one gives to shits about it. Not to stir MORE Shit, but are you talking about thinking Jushin Liger (or Jyushin Lyger, whichever way you want to spell it) is BORING?! For God's sake!!!! The earliest Japan I've seen is the Best of Japn 2001 set!!!!!
Guest Monday Night Jericho Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 A lot of people don't see a difference. What the hell?

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 For God's sake!!!! The earliest Japan I've seen is the Best of Japn 2001 set!!!!! Then don't knock Liger as "Crap" when you only see him past his prime Even I admit he was more entertaining than almost every wrestler in the states and thats by watching like 10-12 matches of his. EVER.
Guest Ray Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 A lot of people don't see a difference. Only dumbfucks... Well, the WWE has a seperate cruiser division. Too bad no-one gives to shits about it. McMahon treats them as worthless jobbers for years...and you wonder why no one cares about them?

Was that the cage match where he kept doing spots and wouldn't sell for anyone?
Lightning Flik Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Orton is more like 245 Nice call. Checked WWE.com and low and behold it is 245lbs. You checked too, didn't you? As far as Randy Orton, he's improving just like how Cena has been and Lesnar has. Sure, it he isn't producing ***** matches or hell even *** yet, but you know, as long as Orton looks to be improving (which most admit that this is true) I won't start bitching just yet. I will laugh at some fuck ups he does, but he's at least not letting that unnerve him and not keep up on the improving.
Dandy Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I didn't check before I typed that, I just remembered from awhile back. I have a pretty good memory. I actually thought that may have been his old weight and that he had put on more since then. Anyone know what he has been announced as on Raw lately?
Guest Monday Night Jericho Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Just curious but how is Cena improving? You could argue that he is getting better at selling injuries, but I actually recal him have slightly better matches in his vanilla face run when he first joined.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Then don't knock Liger as "Crap" when you only see him past his prime I NEVER said he was crap. I said I didn't like him, as part of the largely MMA based NJ Junior division, having missed EVERYTHING before 2001 QUOTE A lot of people don't see a difference. Only dumbfucks Well, Apparantly I'm a dumbfuck for liking Orton, so it all comes full circle. McMahon treats them as worthless jobbers for years...and you wonder why no one cares about them? No I don't wonder. As I've said before, I trust in what Vince puts on tv, or doesnt, as the case may be.
Guest Ray Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I trust in what Vince puts on tv Well, there goes your last shred of credibility...
Guest Monday Night Jericho Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Well, Apparantly I'm a dumbfuck for liking Orton, so it all comes full circle. Dave, your post makes no sense...
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Dave, your post makes no sense... Only dumbfucks like Orton.....only Dumbfucks don't think Paul London is a Messiah.....only dumbfucks can't see a difference between cruiserweights and spotmonkeys I think that was the point Well, there goes your last shred of credibility... I'm an unemplyed student journalist...like I had credibility to begin with....
Michrome Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 No one gives a fuck about them because they're booked as a joke. Their matches are the shortest, they never have any reason to be fighting, and they're being grounded as of late. On top of all of this, Vince kills any draw of the cruisers by having them face The Big Show, and making a joke out of the whole thing. There's a reason New Japan keeps their junior and heavyweights apart. If Oscar De La Hoya ever fought Lennox Lewis, and got his ass whipped, his drawing power would be way, way down. This is exactly what has happened with cruiserweights in America. They're treated as "cute little foriegners", and nothing more.
Tawren Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 When did I ever say I wanted you banned? I swear, you just make stuff up as you go along. Oh just bog off.
