DMann2003 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Did I mention Jericho kicked out of the chokeslam. And these days a lowblow is par for the course, so I says it's clean. Orton got Orton sucks chants so the guy had heat, at least last night in Dayton. And to agree with Suicide King the Benoit/Batista match was very good. And while I'm on the subject, Dayton deserves more live shows, I know Hara and Nutter are small but come on WWE through us a frickin bone. I've come to terms with the fact that the Nutter Center is too small to host a Royal Rumble, but a Smackdown now and then would be nice, I HATE driving to Columbus. Kaertos 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Darn right DMann. The crowds in Dayton are always hot. The last smackdown in the Gem City was sold-out, and this is back when they were having trouble selling out arenas. The show was mediocre at best, but the crowd was enthusiastic the whole time. Guest Suicide King Report post Posted February 2, 2004 It's clear that the only wrestling fans who make any sense are here as well.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Dmann2003 and Suicide King -- What did you think was better? Benoit vs A-Train or Benoit vs Batista?
Guest Suicide King Report post Posted February 2, 2004 You know, that's hard to say. I've seen Benoit and A Train go at it more than once when they were on TV, and I have only seen Benoit and Batista wrestle this once, and at a house show. I think the matches were very comparable. I have always found matches with one big man versus one ring technician to be among the finest matches I have seen. But then again, I may be some sort of deviant among smarks. I like nearly every wrestler I have ever seen. I hate no one. I like scientists, hosses, cruiserweights, brawlers, hardcore monkeys, monsters, no-sellers, over-sellers, everyone. Some matches are better than others, and god knows some wrestlers are better than others. But I just think it is very petty to critique someone for messing up a move, or as having "no" talent. It's a cop out. I know you can say that you're not being petty, you're worried about the safety of the other worker. God knows if anything did happen to Benoit I would be horrified, as I consider him one of the top 5 of all time. But if Benoit feels safe in the ring with these people, I am more than willing to trust his judgement. There's just so much negativity among smarks, and it's infectious. I prefer to focus on the positive. I watch wrestling to have fun, to watch athletes perform great and epic stories alongside some small and irksome ones. So I guess I will continue to enjoy what I watch. I'm not gonna change any minds here and they aren't gonna change mine.

I too am a mark for the little tecnician agaisnt the big guy. I was a fan of the A-Train vs Benoit matche because they're the matches that hold up as being rewatchable after someone has watched over 10,000 matches. Having positive people in here makes the board more interesting. I tend to like every type of wrestler too but I'm just more picky. I was a smark since I pretty much started watching and watched an awful lot of matches from everywhere so things tend to have to be good for me to enjoy them. Some wrestlers really annoy me but I don't hate them. The thing about screwups is that they're often not as cut or dry as some people think on to what really happened in the ring because a lot of stuff is done toghether. If someone is constantly screwing up though, they should just not be in the ring. Period. I think Benoit would wrestle against anyone. He's not one to complain about that. He has wrestled agaisnt known careless wrestlers before.

Guest thetrendsetter Report post Posted February 3, 2004 The funniest (Not ha ha funny) night ever was the night Batista, Bubba Ray Dudley and Randy Orton all got injured in the same tag match... Poor Hosses I Like Batista, he actually looks imposing... And appears to try hard, and can have a good match with certain people... DEAR GOD, it's Sid 2K4... meh. Sid made more money in this buisness than Spanky ever will *Hears shotguns loading, Runs Like Hell*
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted February 3, 2004 that's why I call Batista "Capn' Fuck-Up" too much focus nowadays is put on building one's physique and not enough on learning how to safely execute moves. Nice name for him. I prefer to call him Botchtista.
