SuperJerk Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I think Kurt vs. Brock was done to death, though.
Papacita Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Maybe so, but their last match left the feud wide open, and with Kurt obviously turning heel soon, this PPV could be the last opportunity they have to close it out. And I'd prefer Champion Angle going into WM to defend against Eddie anyway.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 man, skeith is such a pessimist. He barely talked about the PROMO~ He made the tag title match seem like a snoozer( I thought it was a good match with greta heat and an actual build up to it, plus, I have a soft spot for Scotty) He says its stupid for their to be Raw clips on smackdown...even though it directly affects a major storyline on smackdown. Man, get this guy some Benoit comp.s, stat.
Hektik Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 No matter how bad some people think the show was I am just glad that Eddie is finaly getting the praise and recognition he deserves. I suggest everyone buy No Way Out to show Vince that Eddie will be a good drawing champion.
Guest Choken One Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I do like how Each show has already pretty much set up or starting a great chunk of the WM Card... HBK/HHH/BENOIT Goldberg/Lesnar Taker/Kane Eddy/Angle Cena/Show the interesting parts will be how they decide to work the other stars into something... I'm still convinced Rikishi/S2H will drop the title to WGTT at NWO and I'd suppose a WGTT/Dudley Boyz Intrapromotional Tag Match if WWE doesn't smarten up and stick Kidman and London together...Something tells me WGTT will get the RVD Treatment this time...I expect a quickie match with APA.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 how is it that the wwe can do some great, long term booking for WM, but afterwards, its back to booking on the fly?
Guest Choken One Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 The fact they have been hyping Mania since the Last WM...Indicates how much this means to vince... If it was LOOONG Term booking, Angle/Eddy would have started way back when....Aside from Kane/Taker and Brock/Berg...They have only JUST decided on what they want to do for mania as far as the major matches are concerned...I'm sure they haven't even THOUGHT about The RVD's and Bookers of the company... I'm still waiting to see if they even bother to take the title off Orton and put on Matt or RVD for a Ladder Match to pay homage to wmx.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Two things standed out in tonight's Smackdown: Eddie and Brock's great promo. Eddie looks more promising of a champ than Benoit. Cole's commentary during Holly vs. angle. Specificly, when Cole talks about each wrestler's acomplishments: "Kurt Angle: KotR winner, 4-time WWE champ, Tag champ, Euro-continental champ, World Champ. And Hardcore Holly: 2 time Tag champ, 5 time Hardcore champ. Both have great main event credentials." Yeah, Hardcore really is on the level of Kurt Angle. y that logic, Bubba Ray Dudley is Ric Flair.

To be fair, Cole is fed his lines, after all.
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I hate the smackdown commentary. That's really all I can say about this show without mentioning how gay the music video was.
Austin3164life Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 In all fairness though, Tazz is a great analyst and offers a former wrestler's insight to matches, and he has vastly improved in the past 6-7 months or so.
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Oh, I was a big Tazz-as-commentator fan before they decided to fuck it up and have him act heelish. Now he's more focused on arguing with Cole over bullshit rather than focusing on the match.
Kardo Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Coles voice, he doesn't ever seem natural about anything or like he actually understands wrestling. Tazz at least used to sound natural talking about the match.
Austin3164life Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 The WWE do has a knack for focusing on the wrong strengths of one of their talents. I see what you mean about Tazz. Lately, all he and Cole do is argue. I was just watching Cena/Benoit from 12/4/03 (night of Brock/Benoit) and there was excellent commentary from both guys. Now, all they do is argue. Kind of like Cena's raps as a face. When he was a heel, he'd tear into the face and look better than the face. Now, he's getting repetitive, and that is not a good thing when you are just starting to become the next big star. He still has the charisma, but should stop focusing on "who's gay". Tazz should go back to his usual analytical form.
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Cole annoyed the hell outta me last night. He's taking the JR route of "If you yell it means more" and it occasionally works for JR because of his voice, but with Coles it is all wrong. DAMN THAT JAMIE KNOBLE!
cabbageboy Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I enjoyed SMDN fairly well last night, though admittedly I was channel surfing during the Rey video crap. Heh. That Eddie promo was one of those awesome moments though, I gotta say. My friend Chris even called right after it saying "My god did you see that?"
Austin3164life Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Was the Eddy/Brock promo as good as people say it is? I didn't catch Smackdown regrettably.
