Guest El Satanico Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Starts at 8 PM Eastern tonight.
Guest Ghettoman Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Damn I haven't seen that show in a long time. Thanks for the heads up, there's nothing good on Fridays.
razazteca Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 I wish MTV will show this on the weekend.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Yeah there's no reason why MTV can't show reruns of it for at least an hour every weekend. MTV should be paying attention to Adult Swim and bring episodes of their old cartoons out of the closet for a late night weekend show.
Slayer Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 I just caught this thread now and went to go check it out Unfortunately it's an episode from the shit-astic last season... I only want to see eps from the first three seasons or so Shame too, since when they're on TV, they can show them MSTing videos (my main reason to watch)... unfortunately, do to all the potential royalty issues, the videos can't be released on video, hence the DVDs only have the cartoons (which are so-so IMO)
Bored Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Hell fucking ya!!!! God damn its been ages since I've seen this show. It definently became stale towards the end of its run but its been gone so long that it actually seems fresh again.
razazteca Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 The best part of the show was how Beavis & Butthead commented on the videos. The cartoon itself is average at best.
Damaramu Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 I actually hated the videos but I love the cartoons. So I wouldn't mind the DVD's with just cartoons.
razazteca Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 But watching Beavis go insane or smart while watching Sagat's "Funk Dat" or GNR "Garden of Eden" was classic. FIRE FIRE FIRE hehehehehehe that was cool.
Matt Young Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 I saw the commercials for this last night and marked out. I grew up on this show. It influenced my friends and I to the point where our parents tried to ban us from watching it. Unfortunately, I lost my tapes of the show long ago... I'm planning on getting the DVDs, but as was stated previously, they lack the music videos. Luckily, I have a tape in my VCR right now. The shows' still funny as hell, but not as good as I remembered it. I guess that's simply because shows like Clerks and Family Guy have surpassed it in the last decade, but B & B still holds a very special place in my heart.
Bored Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 The problem is they aren't showing any of the episodes from the first couple of seasons. I was happy to see they showed the episode where the get "drunk" off of non-alcoholic beer which was one of the last great episodes they had.
Matt Young Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 They have shown 2 of the best music video segments ever, though- Shaggy's "Bombastic" and The Beastie Boys' "Sabotage". Now if only they'd show that one with the guy in the box where Beavis keeps repeating, "Bum bum bum, ba-bum bum bump, ba-da-la-da-ba-da bum bum bump, HIGHER, HIGHER!" Also that one "Ultra twist" song, where BUTT-head blurts out a hilarious, "Jam it in and screw it out, do the ultra twi-ost!" is high on my list of clips I'd like to see.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 For those who care, they are re-running some of the epsiodes in 3 hour blocks. I'm not sure if they are all different episodes, so take that with a grain of salt.
DerangedHermit Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 There's more B&B at 2PM ET (after 4 episodes of Celebrity Deathmatch)
jimmy no nose Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Here's the airing schedule for today and tomorrow, looks like you'll have to stay up late to catch it: http://www.mtv.com/onair/schedule/airdates...episodeID=43837 I wonder if they'll be making this a regular thing in the future.
DerangedHermit Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 B&B has aged HORRIBLY (except for the movie and some of the videos).
Ravenbomb Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Now if only they'd show that one with the guy in the box where Beavis keeps repeating, "Bum bum bum, ba-bum bum bump, ba-da-la-da-ba-da bum bum bump, HIGHER, HIGHER!" I'm pretty sure the song was "If I only had a brain" by MC 900ft Jesus
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Now if only they'd show that one with the guy in the box where Beavis keeps repeating, "Bum bum bum, ba-bum bum bump, ba-da-la-da-ba-da bum bum bump, HIGHER, HIGHER!" I'm pretty sure the song was "If I only had a brain" by MC 900ft Jesus They did play that song for an episode earlier today. Hilarious.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 It seems to be MTV animation weekend on M2. Aeon Flux is on now. We want The Maxx, damnit.
razazteca Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 MTV the Reality tv channel MTV2 the Animation channel with videos
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Beavis & Butthead... on man... when they watch the music videos and they talked about it is simply the BEST part of the show
Guest El Satanico Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 The Maxx was great...Aeon Flux not so great, but only because it made so little sense.
AndrewTS Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Okay, to be clear, they didn't put the videos even on the Time Life DVDs? Well, that saved me some money. The videos were half the show, and it isn't the same without them. However, they did put out some of the VHS tapes that had music videos on them.
Rob E Dangerously Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 for some reason, "Wood Shop" cracks me up too.
AndrewTS Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 for some reason, "Wood Shop" cracks me up too. Butthead picking his nose with Beavis' finger really cracked me up. My favorite is probably Nose Bleed, though. The Chrismas Special is great, though, and I never saw the Halloween one.
NoCalMike Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I was approx 13-15 I believe when B&B was in it's prime and while I laughed at the segments where they made fun of the videos they watched, I must say looking back on it now, and re-watching the episodes, there are a lot of jokes and comments I didn't understand back then, but now I find hilarious. Hail to the B&B video segments....
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Beavis saying he was hung like a horse during "Shiny Happy People" caught me off guard in shock...and eventually had me laughing.
AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 *Iron Man video* Beavis: Whoa...is that Ozzy? Butthead: Uh...no way. That's like, Ozzy's son. Ozzy's old. Beavis: Ooooh yeah. He's an old fart. ---- same video... ---- Beavis: Are these guys from England? Butthead: No, dumbass, they're American.
