Damaramu 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 So who watched the AFL game today on NBC? And which one did you get? I got the Voodoo vs. Soul. That was my first experience with arena football and I just want to say.....I don't know what to thin. It was so much different than the NFL and NCAA I didn't know what to expect. Those other football games just seem more action packed than this and I just couldn't get into it......that might be b/c I have no emotional attachment but I don't have an emotional attachment to a lot of NFL teams and I can get into their games. Like the Texans(who i could care less about) and the Chargers(who i could care less if they existed or not).....I could watch a game between those two and get into it.......so I don't know......the jury is still out with me and the AFL. I mean they score into the 100's in the NBA and I couldn't be more bored watching it. It's the first time I've seen the AFL on this year anyway, and I figured they wouldn't start until after the NFL season ended (tonight's Pro Bowl notwithstanding). It's cool that they're on a major network now. I remember them showing games in (I believe) TNN in years past, and it was nice to have football after the Super Bowl. Hell, I was even an XFL fan. I just find it hard to live without football. I watched most of the Avengers/Rattlers game today, and that was pretty good. I'd love to go see the LA Avengers play live one of these days. gWIL 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 I find the AFL to be more fun and enjoyable than the NFL in almost everyway. Its a lot faster paced and I find it to much more exciting. If you haven't been to a live game, go they kick ass. I'm hoping to go to a few Rampage games this year, as I went last for the first time and its great much more fun than I've ever had at an NFL or College game I have ever gone to. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2004 By the end of the XFL, they were getting a good bit worse ratings than the AFL norm. There are minimal costs involved in the AFL as opposed to the $100 Million XFL. Plus, the AFL has their niche, so they keep their core group of fans. The XFL was just bad football trying to take on the NFL, so they kept no fans, as the XFL just pissed off fans by talking down about the NFL (which obviously people enjoy).
