--Dave says the 3-way is now much more likely to be a ladder match at Mania.

--Vince has contacted Bret to come to Mania and do a farewell speech, but Bret hasn't accepted yet, fearing he would get choked up in front of the fans.

"Dave says the 3-way is now much more likely to be a ladder match at Mania"

I'm going to be the pessimist here.

HBK being added to the match in the first place was just a way IMO to get HHH out of laying down.

Now HBK doesn't have to lay down either.

Hurrah.

What's worse...as a ladder match...I'll be betting on HBK to win and then job to Benoit in Canada (there's an OBVIOUS storyline there)

Hooray for another one month title reign!

You know, Bret Hart choking up in front of all the fans would probably choke me up watching it.

Last time I cried watching wrestling was when Randy Savage & Elizabeth got back together after Macho Man's match with Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania VII.

Yeah, I know, I'm a bitch.

They could just have the HBK vs HHH feud end at Wrestlemania with HHH driving HBK into the mat but you run into the problem of doesn't that hurt Benoit since again he fails to win the title.

Also, HBK in a ladder match??? A man with a bad back and a man who can barely lift his leg without pulling his groin in a ladder match??

COULD be good, but still doesn't make me want to order Mania.

Michaels back hasn't stopped him from anything so far. He used a ladder in his street fight with HHH. He went off the top rope through a table twice that I know of. Once against HHH and once against Flair.

I would be more worried about Benoit than HBK. You know Benoit will try a big headbutt.

Why is Bret worried about getting choked up? That's usually what happens at farewell speeches.

I guess the best thing is HHH winning, so Benoit can get a one-on-one, strong pinfall later in Canada and set himself up for a feud with HBK (and maybe Jericho down the line). But I'm assuming that with the Confidential piece from Saturday, they'll be hyping WrestleMania X, and so it's almost a guarantee that HBK wins. That's also why they're going after Bret.

Bret's stroke makes it harder for him to handle things.

Seriously, this is the WORST idea ever. Not only that, it's the stupidest idea of all time in wrestling in ANY league ever. There's nothing that comes even remotely close. Forget wrestling, this is the most idiotic idea in the history of humanity.

I was always under the impression that multi-man matches such as Triple Threats, Fatal 4 Ways, ect were used to set up the REAL blowoff in the form of a one-on-one match. And WrestleMania XX has literally been hyped for a full damn year. This is supposed to be the ultimate blowoff ppv (Well, I might blow it off). How they can used a match used to transition feuds w/o jobbing anyone important as the FEATURE attraction to the BIGGEST extravaganza of all time is beyond me.

Seriously, how hard is it to just book HHH and Benoit while sticking Michaels in a program with Jericho? You could have HBK warn Trish about Jericho's scheming ways turning him into a subtle heel in the process. Even have him befriend Christian as 2 people "looking out for the best of their respective friends". Trish could start having second thoughts about Jericho's true feelings for the nest 2 months. And then blow this off at WrestleMania.

No matter what, Wrestlemania 20 is going to be good. I mean, its Wrestlemania. Its like the Super Bowl. Not every game is good but its always fun to watch, and I think Wrestlemania 20 will be fun to watch, even if it has to cost $50. Although it will be 5 hours!

7-12, with Heat an hour early, or 8-1? 1 AM?! I have to go to school in the morning!!....or do I? ;)

Word out on the street is that HHH and possably Michaels were the ones that suggested a triple threat right before the Rumble instead of the than scheduled Benoit vs HHH but who's cursed idea was it to make this a ladder match? A LADDER match?

Yeah but there wasn't 3 teams having a ladder match at the Super Bowl.........

God what is wrong with McMahon?

Maybe HBK thinks that he can steal the spotlight in a ladder match.......oh boy he's in for a rude awakening if he thinks that.....he must've never seen a Benoit ladder match.

This reminded me of my ideas of what if football became more like the WWE?

Hell in a Cell Matches: Cage surrounding the field(You don't get knocked out of bounds, you get rammed into the cage)

Special Guest Referee:The Owner of one team is the ref for his team's game(For example, Dan Snyder, owner of Redskins, is the special guest ref for a Redskins/Cowboys game in Dallas; what heel heat!)

First Blood Match:Whichever team has a bleeding teammate loses

Russian Chain match:Opposing teammates are connected to each other by chains

Crazy stuff, ain't it?

Um...since when HASN'T HBK always been about himself?

This 'stealing the spotlight' thing is hardly revolutionary for Shawn Michaels. Christian or not, you'll be hard pressed to find a more egotistical individual than Shawn Michaels.

Rightfully so, if you ask me, the man is brilliant, but this is not the way to do things for the biggest show of all time.

Despite all this, I still have to believe Chris Benoit is walking out with the title. If Benoit won a half-assed battle royal 3 weeks before WrestleMania then sure, I would pick Triple H to retain but they've been hyping Benoit since October ... he made Brock tap at Survivor Series ... and he currently holds the all-time record in the Royal Rumble.

I don't like the triple threat idea ... I don't like triple threat matches in general ... but it doesn't make sense for either Triple H or Shawn to win. WrestleMania is about looking to the future - it always has been. Each and every year, save one or two, it has featured the "changing of the guard" so to speak - where the previous year's top dog passes the torch to the next big thing. It happened to Savage, Warrior, Bret, Shawn, Taker, Austin, and Brock.

If Shawn wins, it's a step backwards. If Triple H wins, the company stands still. If Benoit wins, it's a step in the right direction.

I think it ultimately comes down to where the Raw Title match is booked on the card. If it's halfway through the show (which I don't think will be the case), then I could see a screwjob. However, if it's the final match of the card, Benoit is a sure bet.

I'm an optimist but I can't predict how this is going to turn out.

Come on! He's not as overrated as...Brock Lesnar!

HHH is not made to be in a ladder match. The stupid buggers running this company should realise that HHH shouldn't be in a ladder match. He's going to injure himself. He can't climb the bleepin ladder. He can't do highspots off the ladder. What's he going to do? Stay knocked out the whole time while Benoit and Michaels wrestle? Pedigree someone after a double KO and retrieve his oh so special belt? That's Wrestlemania XX?

Michaels shouldn't be in this either. His knees are reported to be hurt right now and he could screw up his back.

Benoit definitely shouldn't be in it. Whoever booked this KNOWS Benoit's GUARANTEED to do the headbutt of the top of the ladder with his damaged neck. Not to meantion what else could happen to him in a meaningless match. If you're going to book the headbutt, at least save it for a cage match. Better yet, don't book it at all, you morons.

If Benoit wins the title in a moronic freakin ladder match than Benoit has been screwed worse than Jericho was during his title run. And that's before he even got out of the gate. Ah screw it, he's already been booked to fail.

HHH -- ruining 20 years of Mania. Congratulations buddy. I hope you're happy.

All three of them have all been in classic Ladder Matches:

HHH vs. Rock: Summerslam 98

HBK vs. Razor Ramon: Wrestlemania 10 and Summerslam 95

Benoit vs. Jericho: Royal Rumble 2001

However, nowadays they aren't made to be in a ladder match. Well, Benoit can still do well. Michaels did alright in the 2/3 falls match which featured a ladder match in the third fall, but this is not a good idea. A regular triple threat match would've been better.

Shawn Michaels is still one of the top 5 workers in the company.

1. Benoit

2. Jericho

3. Ultimo Dragon

4. Paul London

5. Kurt Angle

I don't see an HBK in that Top 5. And you can't tell me he's better than any of those 5. Hell some may dispute my top 5 but I doubt anyone with a rational outlook would say HBK is a top 5 worker.

Ultimo Dragon!? What the hell are you judging that from? His 30 second classics with Tajiri?

I love Ultimo as much as the next guy but, despite whatever the reason may be, he has yet to put on any significantly mind blowing match in WWE that justifies the hype that surrounds him.

1. Benoit

2. Kurt Angle

3. Chris Jericho

4. Shawn Michaels

5. Eddie Guerrero

That's how I see things at present.
