Paul Martin is more economically conservative than George Bush, for instance, although less socially conservative (at least in the traditional sense of conservative, and not this neo-liberal conservatism that seems to be replacing it). The Liberal Party is all about pork-barrel politics, big money on Bay Street (basically Canada's version of Wall Street), and typical centralist "our policy is whatever will get us elected" strategies. People do it all the time on this board, so it can't be that bloody difficult. I made the decision and I'm sticking to it. Besides, it was only a two-day suspension. It's not like I banned the fellow. I guessed his use was meant in jest, but tasteless humor is still tasteless. That opinionjournal.com article was a good one, though. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Onto more important news regarding my home and native land; does anyone have an idea of who the frontrunner is regarding the Prime Minister hopeful for the Conservatives? I can't see anyone but Stephen Harper winning the Conservative Party leadership. Being someone who works in government and has a fair understanding of how these things work, this is a prime example of the media trying to stir up shit on a slow news day. The Auditor General's reporty pretty much said that the merits of the programs funded weren't in question, just that the government broke a few rules in getting them funded. Anyone who's worked in government knows that sometimes you have to take the long way around to get to where you want to go with money. A few wrists will be slapped, but nothing major is going to come out of this, and the Liberals will come out of it with their majority government, as they would have before. I was simply stating a point through character display, not my character, but a character. You guys need to be a little more clearly defined on that whole garbage. And suspension? God thats annoying, if you don't want me around, ban me, if what I said was so wrong it had to be reprimanded, get rid of me so it's sure to never happened again.
