JustJoe2k5 Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Sounded really ordinary for what should've been one of their biggest shows of the year. C.M. Punk going to the finals of the Pure Wrestling tournament was a pretty bad idea, and him possibly being managed by Bobby Heenan is even worse.
Guest Coffey Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 How long has Samoa Joe had the belt for now?
Cuban Linx Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Joe's had it for about 10 months and 3 weeks now, winning it on the 22nd of March last year.

How about we wait and see what happens before we bash it, eh? By the way.... Great show. I'd say the best show I've been to besides Final Battle. I'd put the World Title 4 Way as MOTN, with AJ Styles/CM Punk running a close second. It gets a solid thumbs up from me.
Nevermortal Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 And I'd like to add one thing.... Traci Brooks: DAMN.
tpww7 Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Just got home...damn 5 hour drive home. The show was real fucking good, BUT THE BUILDING FUCKING SUCKED... get your copy of this at 3/13. I'll say more tommorow.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 I just realized that Styles has held every title in Roh except the Heavyweight. ( He's held the tag title, the #1 contenders trophy, and now the pure wrestling belt)
Detective Comics Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Amazing show. Thats all that needs to be said.
JustJoe2k5 Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 How did all of the "Pure Wrestling rules" play into the main event?
Guest Joe_G Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 How did all of the "Pure Wrestling rules" play into the main event? They did a spot early in the match where Punk and Styles did a collar and elbow tie-up and fell out of the ring while still locked up. Neither one would let go, until they realized they were being counted out, then they both let go and ran back into the ring. Both guys used their rope breaks up early (escaping from submission holds). When Punk got his Devil Lock hooked on late in the match, AJ made the ropes but Punk kept the hold locked on (which is legal). So AJ climbed the ropes and used the leverage to kick Punk and escape that way. During the final pinfall, Punk may have been in the ropes, but since he used up all his rope breaks, the fall still counted. No closed fists were used, so nothing about that. And I'd like to add one thing.... Traci Brooks: DAMN. I second that emotion.

Guest ToddRoyal Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 He sliced his hand open pretty bad when he hit the gaurdrail on a dive to the outside. It was pretty nasty. From my seat on the other side of the building, all we saw was Whitmer and Low Ki come up with blood all over their backs, and Allison flip out and start beating up ring attendants to go get help from the back. Gabe and at least one official came out with tape, and Joe used medical tape, duct tape, and athletic tape to wrap his hand, all while Maff was kicking him in the head and biting his hand. It was pretty nasty, as Everytime Joe threw a punch, blood sprayed, and when the ref bit the end of the tape to tear it, he got blood all over his face. But yeah, Joe's a badass. His finger nearly gets torn off and he tapes it back up in the middle of the match and keeps going.
